They believe that there is more to come. That there will be other bombshells like what he heard last night.
Chris Stirewalt calls it sassafras to think the GOP can dump Trump, or that Trump could drop out. But Sean Spicer of the RNC had a different view. He didn’t advocate Trump dropping, but did leave open the possibility that it could be done.
Stirewalt might want to look into that before calling it “pure sassafras,” whatever that means. Although one can certainly appreciate the sentiment that the GOP broke it and bought it and now have to live with it.
The “it” being Donald Trump.
