Once Again, Bob Beckel Exposes Deficit Of Critical Thinking On The Left

On Friday’s The Five, the topic of the massive VA scandal was of course a top topic. During the panel discussion, Bob Beckel, amid spittle-flecked outrage over something, something private sector prostitutes rawr, suddenly finds his inner cost-benefit analyst and “explains” that spending money on vouchers for private care to get veterans off of fake waiting lists and into actual doctor’s offices would be super nuh-uh expensive, and actually mentions deficit spending unironically.

It’s funny how Democrats periodically stumble out of spending euphoria long enough to cite the cost of something when that something is a something that goes against their narrative. Isn’t that something?

Andrea asks the obvious question about “aren’t the veterans worth a half a trillion?” But there is another question for Beckel. And for liberals in general. Do you, have you, will you EVER, understand that there is no such thing as free healthcare? Or free anything for that matter?

The other panelists point out the expense associated with Obamacare, and how it is far more than Beckel’s complaint about money for veteran care. But even more on point is the fact that BECKEL DOESN’T TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHAT WE ARE ALREADY SPENDING. He doesn’t understand hidden costs. What we are paying in actual dollars, in addition to lives and pain and sorrow, as a result of the abuse at the VA is a number not yet calculated.

But when Democrats bring up numbers, the first thing you can be sure of is that the only calculation they’ve done is of the political or electoral variety. Deficits, Bob? I think we all see where the deficit is. I guess that’s what we call the new math.
