Paul Ryan says he disagrees with Trump’s characterization of former FBI Director James Comey as a ‘nutjob’ and explains why:

Ryan believes Comey was put into an impossible situation when his boss and Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, met with Bill Clinton on that airplane.
That may be true, but let’s not pretend that Comey was innocent either. After all, he didn’t have to let Hillary off the hook by suggesting she didn’t have a motive for putting national security at risk with her illegal homebrew email server – especially when the law didn’t require motive. He took prosecution into his own hands and gave the DOJ a way out of their Hillary mess. Was he pressured to do that? As sure as the sky is blue. But he still did it.
So yeah, I think Comey is far more of a nutjob than Ryan is willing to admit and I’m very happy he’s gone.
