I wish I had video of this, but for now this transcript will do just fine. Paul Ryan is basically saying that running for president certainly isn’t out of the question, but it’s not something he wants to think about right now. But he does say he will seriously consider it later on:

BLITZER: Senator Rand Paul yesterday was here in THE SITUATION ROOM, 24 hours ago. He said flatly he is going to Iowa in the next few weeks. He is seriously thinking of running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. He thinks that is a good idea for him. What about you?

RYAN: I’m going to make my mind up later. The reason why – I think I need to do this job. I’m the chairman of the Budget Committee. When we have a budget crisis on our horizon, we’ve got to get these agreements done. And I don’t think it’s good for me, it’s good for the Wisconsin first district, it’s good for my colleagues to cloud my judgment at this time with other things.

I need to do what I think is right in this moment working on the budget. I have a leadership position. I take it seriously. And I don’t want to cloud it with ideas of what I may or may not do in the future. I want to do the right thing now. Then I’ll consider those things. And I will give it serious consideration, but I’m going to do that later on.

BLITZER: You enjoyed campaigning with Mitt Romney, right?

RYAN: I did. I did.

Please, Paul…you’re a nice guy…TOO nice…stay in the House and campaign for whoever we nominate…
Everyone else, PRAY we put a true Conservative candidate in the driver’s seat in ’16.

  • IsraeliCojones

Wait till YOUR expectation of a debt crisis in 10 months comes to pass, Ryan.
“COHERENCY’. What part of this word don’t you understand, genius?

  • c4pfan

Fine.  How about focusing on getting rid of Obamacare?!

    • PhillyCon

      c4pfan Thank you.

    • notsofastthere

c4pfan R vs Wade is still the Law of the land and now Obamacare is also. Medical profession is already gearing up for it. Companies are dropping insurances etc. I don’t think we will ever go back – too much money and too many regulations already established. Too many RINO’S supported it as well as too many freeloaders.

    • njmom

c4pfan Can’t do that because he would offend Boehner, his leader, who trusts Obama. He probably does too.

  • 57thunderbird

Sorry Paul,I can not support you,a proven RINO,or Rand who has too many libertarian leanings, and is in favor of amnesty.

  • http://onthemark1.blogspot.com/ OnTheMark

I don’t despise Ryan, but we can and must do better.

    • 57thunderbird

OnTheMark I don’t despise him either but I want a real conservative to run.

    • marketcomp

OnTheMark Ryan has been there for 14 years and has shown no propensity to stand-up for America and principle Conservative ideas. That’s not a ;itmus test, just common sense. Plus, we have a deep bench now who is articulate and unafraid.

      • americalsgt

marketcomp OnTheMark I was a big Ryan supporter and would vote for him against a liberal but he lost me when he lied about how fast he ran some race or other ( are  you kidding) and the fact that he didn’t give up his WI seat when he ran as VP showed a missing positive thinking.  However,  he would be better than anything I can see right now at proposing the economic changes we need. and in so doing upset both sides; which show conviction of belief.

    • nosilasunny

      @OnTheMark Agreed!

  • 57thunderbird

    Ryan,Rubio,Jeb Bush,Rand Paul.What a choice. Ugh!

    • americalsgt

57thunderbird I hear you T-Bird, but when you add VS.  Hillary and Michele the list, what are you going to do?

      • 57thunderbird

americalsgt 57thunderbird Once again I may have to hold my nose while voting. That sure is getting old. ;-(

        • nosilasunny

57thunderbird americalsgt I am tired of thinking to myself “who are we going to get stuck with this time.”

        • 57thunderbird

          nosilasunny 57thunderbird americalsgt I agree.;-(

        • sDee

Unless we stop it before the next election, it really does not matter who runs or who wins.

        • K-Bob

57thunderbird americalsgt I’m not doing that again.  No one should.

      • 57thunderbird

americalsgt 57thunderbird My last reply disappeared..

        • nosilasunny

57thunderbird americalsgt I have had that problem a couple of times.

        • 57thunderbird

          nosilasunny 57thunderbird americalsgt Same here.

    • njmom

57thunderbird Without seeing your comment I wrote the same thing. Great minds. :)

  • KatyButler

Don’t bother Paul.  You’ve been infected by the establishment. Very sad.

  • marketcomp

That’s fine he can give it “serious consideratoin,” but I won’t even give it a laugable chance for condieration!

  • nosilasunny

“You enjoyed campaigning with Mitt Romney, right?” What kind of question is this? What was he supposed to say, no I hated every moment.
That being said he is not my first choice.

    • njmom

nosilasunny Not even on my list.

      • nosilasunny

njmom nosilasunny I should of been more clear, he’s not on mine either. He would be on the hold your nose and vote because we are stuck with him in the end list.

        • njmom

          nosilasunny njmom LOL

  • notsofastthere

Let’s see. Hillary a proud 20th Century Progressive who watched our Ambassador murdered and helped blow up the Middle East or a RINO. Maybe BHO will find a reason by 2016 to establish Martial Law??

    • americalsgt

notsofastthere   I used to worry about that, but I don’t think it will happen.  I think BHO is bored out of his perfectly brilliant egotistical mind at just being the president of the US.  He wants to rule the world and wants to be Seac-Gen of the UN.

      • 57thunderbird

        americalsgt notsofastthere I agree.

      • sDee

That is where he sees his throne. The Earth Charter his Constitution. The Club of Rome his soviets. They will take America down through financial collapse, regulatory bypass of the Constitution.
Whether it be he or the nest turtle the globalists put up on the post, martial law would be but one of many possible reactions after we pass the point of no return.

      • ryanomaniac

americalsgt notsofastthere You are dead on! He DOES want to be Sec. Gen. Of the UN. And it will happen I guarantee you.

        • 57thunderbird

ryanomaniac americalsgt notsofastthere He will fit right in with that bunch of silly socialists and dictators.

        • OneThinDime

If we get the chance, we should run the UN off the hemisphere

      • njmom

        americalsgt notsofastthere Well said!

      • deTocqueville1

americalsgt notsofastthere “brilliant” no, egotistical yes.

      • cabensg

americalsgt notsofastthere All Obama really cares about is the money. I mean it’s fun getting to inflict socialist and Islamic crap on America and Americans but as long as he has lots of money and can still go around beating his fist on a table in front of an audience he’ll be happy.

        • americalsgt

cabensg americalsgt notsofastthere  I think he is beyond money and has come full circle to the power corrupts and ……………….  etc absolutely.  His handlers will take care of him, and if there was ever any doubt that handlers did exist, look at his getting the Peace Price 15 minutes after winning the election.  It made no sense then, but it does now.

        • cabensg

americalsgt cabensg notsofastthere It’s pretty obvious Obama’s ideas and implementation aren’t all his own doing but if they can get Hillery or Joe or any other liberal to take his place things will go on the same. Obama is expendable as president to his handlers and I don’t think he’ll hate to give up the job, what will change in his life? He’ll still be able to order people around and do as he pleases and everyone (the media) will still bow down but without any of the responsibility which he avoids like the plague as it is. He’ll still be rich and revered two essentials I’m sure. Just my opinion.

  • 57thunderbird

I think we need to take our focus off the presidency and focus on the House and Senate.

  • Amjean

Ryan is obviously not good at multi-tasking! LOL  (something I would think a president would HAVE to be good at).

  • sDee

Thanks but no thanks Paul. America is in the final stages of a mortal assault from you, your colleagues and your patrons  in DC.
The time for politcal gamesmanship is long past. For what ever reasons you may have, you are hiding the ugly truth from the American public.. We need truth, courage and conviction. We need warriors and leaders to stand on this, our  last line of defense.
You have shown none of this.

    • 57thunderbird

      sDee True!

      • ChesterSimms

        57thunderbird sDee
I second (or third) that.  I can see this guy showing RINO tendencies now, and might be a full blown Boehner ten years from now.

        • OneThinDime

He’s already a Boehner, sold out every conservative on committees that Boehner removed.

        • MontyRay

OneThinDime He was given a “leadership” position on the budget committee. That was the hook.  Now, the GOP holds it over his head as a threat and pushes him to compromise his principles for the sake of being in a position to make a difference. Same game for years.  He’s a good man, but when faced between the red and blue pill, he took the wrong one.

        • deTocqueville1

          MontyRay OneThinDime On the money.

    • Rshill7

Compared to McCain though…he’s a cross between Tarzan, Elijah, and The Apostle Peter.
Compared to Ted Cruz…he’s what you put out by the road once a week.

      • MontyRay

Rshill7 Ryan didn’t have the faith to walk on the water.  He took a step out and is now on the bottom of the sea bed with the rest of the establishment.

  • Rshill7

My heart is palpitating, palms are moist, eyes dilated, forehead beading up, blood pressure spiking, tingles up and down my legs and spine…so excited I can barely catch my breath.
    Maybe I can catch a break…or a plane.

    • sDee

you might have already caught it ;)

    • stage9

Rshill7 Careful my friend, you’re beginning to sound like Chris Matthews….

  • Laurel A

    No!

  • WordsFailMe

    Shut up Ryan.

    • OneThinDime

WordsFailMe Greatest post I’ve seen on this thread!

  • njmom

Paul Ryan lost me when he ran with Romney. What a selection we have before us; Ryan, Rubio, Paul and Bush. Geesh, Lord please save us!

  • HOUSTONPETITION

I will support none of them. Either get the continued occupation over with or I will cease to vote. There is nothing left. Unless we can get Palin or West ready to splinter off this party………

  • MontyRay

Ryan, a good example of a good man right on the event horizon of being sucked in to the establishment.  I can see his soul tearing away right now.  Unfortunate.

  • OneThinDime

Ryan voted to fund ObamaCare after campaigning to repeal it. Enough said.

  • SheerPolitics

Ryan, your ship has sailed–you couldn’t even get your own state to come out.

    • CarolynDixon

SheerPolitics and how many watched him at cpac?  very few.  sarah beat them all including the keynote speaker.

  • LIBERTYUSA

    …Pray America Pray,

Tea Party Patriot Nominee for 2016 Presidential Race .”

    • deTocqueville1

LIBERTYUSA I’m praying for Sarah Palin.

    • CarolynDixon

LIBERTYUSA SARAH PALI IS THAT PERSON.  SHE EMBODIES WHAT CONSERVATISM IS ALL ABOUT.

  • BearNJ

We’ll pass Paul. We’ve seen how your turned the other check when conservatives are attacked in the House. We’ve seen your budgets of just managing the decline instead of really cutting or just even freezing spending. We’ve seen you say this past weekend that their isn’t a debt crisis giving the MSM it’s headline. We’ve seen you back Boehner in his use of the rules to avoid regular order. More importantly we saw you in the VP debate with Biden where moron Joe won the day. You let the moderator cut you off and sat there as Joe smirked and rolled his eyes like you were clueless and never called him out on it. I’ll pass. We need a fighter and your not  it.

    • deTocqueville1

      BearNJ Precisely.

  • K-Bob

    Vote West, my friends.

    • The Sentinel

K-Bob Or Cruz if he’s eligible and interested?

  • cabensg

Oh good! Someone else we don’t want is going to run.

  • applepie101

We keep ordering a hero sandwich, and they keep serving us mush.

  • clubgitmo

    Ryan is a RINO.
