They probably hate this sheriff because he was at the first Conservative Black Forum held by Allen West. I remember researching this guy before and making a short blog, talking about how a judge forced the sheriff to lay off 48 people. Sounds like they were able to save 6 of them.

Piers Morgan is living proof that, when we armed ourselves against the vicious, lying and manipulative British 250 years ago, it was the right thing to do.
The Left hates Sheriff Clarke because he's a Black Conservative who has left the Democrat Plantation.
I would add that Clarke has common sense and a genuine concern for the citizens. This is something the Left can't stand - common sense and genuine concern.

They want to maintain out of control and unreasonable spending and not address their problems... and when counties or states can no longer function, they get stupid on them and blame them for not continuing to function as normal. They want to ban guns... but people need guns to protect themselves - especially if the local law enforcement is stripped down and reduced because there's no money. And the left blames people for legally exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.
They want to tax people to death because of their damned chronic spending and misuse of tax-payer money... and then get mad when people move to more wealth-friendly states or countries. How dare these free people move away when the mosquitos are moving in and trying to feed of their new hosts!

The families of the first settlers to New England were required by law to own a gun and carry it in public (even church), and to train there kids in firearms proficiency. Back in the 1950s and later many schools had shooting ranges and students brought there rifle to school. Guns have always been a part of American culture but gun violence hasn't. I think this shows serious problems with society and gun violence is only a symptom of a much larger problem.
still req'd to have one in church here in maine, at least a few yrs ago (3 ?) when I last checked it was still on the books.
I bought my first rifle from a guy in NY city. Took it home on the subway to Queens and not a soul thought it dangerous. Matter of fact I had a lot of folks giving me complements about the rifle. It never entered our minds that it would be used for a bad purpose.

Does any sports fans remember when sports commentator Jim Rome had NFL Quarterback Jim Everett on his show and what happened? Rome made fun of Everett's last name and kept calling him Chris, as in tennis player Chris Everett.
When Jim Everett had enough, he told Rome to stop. Jim Rome didn't so Everett shoved him through and off the TV set.
