LOL. Piers Morgan. Ain’t he from the same country who had some MP say of the Founding Patriots that the last refuge of a scoundrel is patriotism? Yeah, I belive so.

Here’s a few thoughts on the subject by better people than the wanker Piers Morgan:

I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”
    George Mason
    Co-author of the Second Amendment
during Virginia’s Convention to Ratify the Constitution, 1788

    ——————————————————————————–

“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves …”
    Richard Henry Lee
writing in Letters from the Federal Farmer to the Republic, Letter XVIII, May, 1788.

    ——————————————————————————–

“The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full posession of them.”
    Zachariah Johnson
Elliot’s Debates, vol. 3 “The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution.”

    ——————————————————————————–

“… the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms”
    Philadelphia Federal Gazette
    June 18, 1789, Pg. 2, Col. 2
Article on the Bill of Rights

    ——————————————————————————–

“And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the Press, or the rights of Conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; …”
    Samuel Adams
quoted in the Philadelphia Independent Gazetteer, August 20, 1789, “Propositions submitted to the Convention of this State”

    ——————————————————————————–

    The Founding Fathers on Arms
“Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”
George Washington First President of the United States

    ‘Nuff said.

    • Cancel_NPR

How DARE you quote what the Founding Fathers meant when they spoke of the “militia”… !!!!!

NOW, KCUF all you socialist SH!THEADS who keep spouting that BULLSH!T about the National Guard being the “militia”…
AND, that “…well-regulated…” part is kinda’ SELF-PROVING, AINT IT ???

If they meant for the National Guard to be the “militia”, then WOULDN’T THEY HAVE TAKEN ALL THE GUNS FROM THOSE NOT IN THAT MILITIA ????
      SOMEBODY ASK A G.D. LIBERAL PUNK-KCUF THAT QUESTION…

    LOL!!!!

    That is great!!!

  • JeffWRidge

I had a similar argument once with a lefty who thought he was clever. He said that the 2nd Amendment should only cover the types of weapons available at the time it was written. I told him if that was the case, then freedom of the press should only cover types of media available at the time, such as hand setting type, manual presses and the like. No electronic powered presses and certainly no radio or television (the Internet didn’t exist at the time of this discussion). He didn’t like my idea.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

You might tell your friend that a musket with lead ball was capable of blowing a large hole through a man and carrying away a significant amount of his internal organs.

      • http://www.facebook.com/paul.christian.942 librtifirst

I might rather be shot with a .223 than a 50 cal musket ball with 100 grains of black powder behind it.

      • JeffWRidge

I haven’t seen the man in almost twenty years. Like a lot of lefties he felt that if the Founders knew how many rounds modern weapons would be capable of firing that they would never want civilians having them. I think the Founders would want us to have access to the same types of weapons that soldiers carry in combat.

        • http://www.facebook.com/paul.christian.942 librtifirst

I actually believe that the founders intended for us to have the same military equipment as the federal government. Militias were supposed to be a local force of protection against both foreign and domestic threats, including the federal government. Militias were criminalized and co-opted by the federal government, and are now called “National Guard”. There wasn’t supposed to be anything national about them. The federal government was supposed to fear the opposition that they might encounter if they sought to enact tyranny upon local citizens. Many people being targeted today could use some protection. The sheriff is the last stand on that front. They can actually arrest federal agents for infringing on the constitutional rights of citizens. There is a lot of that going around, as well.

So Piers, question for ya, how is all that gun control working out for you Brits? I am sure it is just this amazing utopia where there is no violence especially gun violence….wait what? There is still violence? There is still people killed by guns? Piers please go back to England. First Anne Coulter absolutely DESTROYED you and your line of reasoning, and now carolsjsroth does the same thing with fewer words than Miss Coulter.

Civil war in Egypt courtesy of Hussein Obama?

General Al-Yazal tells the paper that “the Islamists have an arsenal of weapons that came from Libya” and they “intend to use them against the Egyptian people in the framework of a political conflict.”

It seems likely that Al-Yazal means the various Salafist groups, rather than the Brotherhood which can draw from the superior weapons stocks of their Turkish, Qatari and Saudi backers.

If the Salafists do attempt to start a civil war using Libyan weapons that fell into their hands due to Obama’s Libyan War, then the cost of Obama’s illegal war will suddenly be a lot higher than previously thought.
    http://frontpagemag.com/2012/dgreenfield/egyptian-general-warns-islamists-have-arsenal-of-libyan-weapons-to-use-against-egyptian-people/

The powder keg is worse in Syria. Looks like the “biological weapon” set up was signaled today by Hussein Obama. In Syria, the Russians, Iranians and Chinese are not going to sit back and watch an Obama/Clinton arab spring.

An article over at canadafreepress today about this and how Benghazi ties in:

      http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/51470

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

And I believe we have some boots on the ground over there for the Syrian situation too. :-( Lord this has been a crappy CRAPPY month so far. Psalms. Oh man I need some Psalms right now.

      • http://www.facebook.com/paul.christian.942 librtifirst

I was watching the local news this morning and they were hyping chemical weapons in Syria. Or, Hitlary and Zero were. Sound familiar? Doesn’t it seem strange that before we go into any of these countries, they are “reported” to have weapons of mass destruction that they are going to use on their own people?

Why would Syria do that when they are being directly threatened by the US? I don’t buy the idea that they think they can win against us, so they are making it worse.

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I agree. Also interesting that Syria has these chemical weapons of mass distruction…. (Iraq) to begin with. They are intentionally doing this. Evil.

          • http://www.facebook.com/paul.christian.942 librtifirst

I don’t think that I was making my point very clearly. You might want to un-like that last comment, because I was referring to the US government lying about these events to justify military movement on Syria, as we did in Libya.

I watched this video the other night, and found this Lady’s testimony to be quite interesting. Her story is quite amazing for many different reasons. She was heavily involved with diplomacy in Libya and Iraq pre-911. Regardless of whether you agree with her about 911 or not, her story is worth a listen. Diplomatically, she describes certain circumstances as being entirely different than our media and government presented. I believe that this kind of thing is still happening. She was one of the first to be imprisoned based on the Patriot Act. That is what was cited when they came to arrest her.

There seems to be a clear pattern, or MO, concerning how government sets up a new war, and it is a bipartisan thing.

    • http://www.facebook.com/paul.christian.942 librtifirst

We were involved in getting all of these conflicts going. Google bragged about pushing the rebellion, and google is essentially CIA.

    • 3seven77

      Hells yeah!

A few years ago my daughter graduated from a law school in the People’s Republic of California. The law school selected a woman from Bangladesh as the keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony. This woman was a muslim, who had let her own law license expire and had never bothered to get it re-instated.

She stood at the podium and told all those graduates that they should forego making money and use their educations to provide legal help to the poor and underprivileged, to third world countries, and as public defenders. I wondered how many parents and students, who had paid plenty to get through law school, wanted to clock her right then.

To make matters even worse, she started in on the Arizona immigration law and how horrible it was that some Americans were trying to enforce our laws, protect our borders, and keep illegals out.

I sooooo wanted to tell her to go back to that “slice of heaven” she came from and take a long look around.

      • sybilll

If it is any consolation, I want to clock her.

      • theresaaa

        Unbelievable !!

I think I would have booed her and hoped enough people joined in to get her sorry arse off the stage .

    • Marky_D

Not that I could ever be offended by my US scooper friends – but in defence of us foreigners I have to point out that 51% of US citizens just proved that they either don’t care or don’t understand the Constitution either. Piers is a lefty idiot – the fact he’s a foreign lefty idiot doesn’t make him any more or less moronic.

      • theresaaa

        Point taken , Sir .

When I made that remark I had people like Martin Bashir ,Cenk Uygur and of course Piers Morgan in mind .

I didn’t mean to offend anyone here .

        • Marky_D

          Hey – none taken, honestly!

      • mark1955

Rspectfully, No they didn’t. There is no way 51% of the American electorate voted for that marxist/islamist POS! It was RIGGED from start to finish. The numbers don’t even come close to adding up.’

        • Marky_D

Fair enough – but there is no denying that a fair number of your citizens share the same mental disorder as PM.

      • Nukeman60

Actually, 28% of eligible voters elected Obama. Doesn’t say much for the 44% that couldn’t find the time to vote, though.

        • Marky_D

Fair enough, but you get my point I’m sure.

          • Nukeman60

Gun Control is all about controlling law abiding citizens from owning guns and arming themselves, not about de-arming the criminals- Criminals don’t care about the law, let alone obey the law, that’s why they’re criminals.

Of course Piers Morgan is a liberal idiot, of extreme asinine idiocy as his values and principles, as is with all of his ilk..

  • NoToTyrants

Piers is an arrogant effete little pantywaist.

Hey Piers… Go back to Britain and submit to your savage Muhammadan overlords… they will demonstrate to you why Americans treasure the second amendment.

Most Americans, despite the election of the “Empty Chair”, still wish to live as free men or women and not surfs. That is why the “Empty Chair” had to lie about who he is and what his true agenda is in order to get elected.

If Americans knew the truth, he would have been lucky to get the 20% of Americans who identify themselves as “progressive”. He pitted American against American with his class warfare, the phoney “war on women”, free cell phones, and the like. He didn’t run on Gun Control.

    • Marky_D

Hey, we don’t want him back. I’d rather have another hook handed jihadist (let’s face it, one more is not gonna make much difference) than have Peerless Moron back.

  • Victor Del Prete

The words “..shall not be infringed” did not include the words “until something better is invented than the musket.”

  • virtualjohn

The Second Amendment was to provide American citizens with the weaponry needed to maintain their liberty against any tyranny of their OWN government. It was not about hunting or sport shooting or self-defense. It was about being able to stand up to any government that becomes tyrannical.
ANY Federal law concerning weapons infringes on the peoples’ right to keep and bear arms and therefore is directly and explicitly unconstitutional. The Federal government is granted NO power to establish ANY gun law by the Constitution.
All powers not explicitly granted to the Federal government are reserved to the States and the People by the Tenth Amendment.
I use the past tense in describing the Second Amendment for it is dead. The People no longer have the power to oppose the tyranny of the Federal Government. The Shining City on the Hill is dead. Our government has long passed the tyranny that ignited our War of Independence. We are no longer “one nation of liberty and justice for all.”
By the way, the British were ordered by Gage to march to Lexington to capture Sam Adams and John Hancock, then on to Concord to seize and destroy “Ammunition, Provisions, Artillery, Tents, small Arms and all Military Stores whatever.”

How’s all that gun control doing in England, Piers? Overall crime is still high, even if most of the crimes are not committed with guns. Only difference is, more people are defenseless to fight back against it. If people are determined to commit a crime, they will do so regardless of the weapon they have.

On that basis, since those who framed the US Constitution could not possibly have foreseen socialism, no part of it may be interpreted with reference to socialist theory.

And since the Constitutional right to privacy could not possibly have envisaged the abortion industry or the science it uses, Roe v Wade must be immediately overturned.

And since the creators of the First Amendment could not possibly have foreseen Twitter…

The Second Amendment wasn’t designed to allow people to own tanks or rocket launchers. That goes along the same line of thinking that Morgan expressed, but it’s not quite as extreme as what he said, being that it wouldn’t ban any kinds of weapons that are currently legal. And it’s completely true that the Second Amendment doesn’t allow people to own tanks. The Supreme Court upheld, in their landmark decision finding an individual right to own guns in the Second Amendment, that certain restrictions on gun ownership are legal. If people owned tanks, there would be more violence and on terrible scales.

    • http://www.facebook.com/david.wiechecki.7 David Wiechecki

Here is a quote from one of the Founders of the U.S. named Tench Coxe:

Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American… [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.

      Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

So you see, any weapon authorized for the military should be available to the ordinary citizen. In the Revolutionary War and Civil War people brought their own cannons. And, yes, people in the U.S. do own tanks. I guess that’s enough food for thought. Hope you chew on it a little.

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government”
