I guess this explains why we haven’t seen much of the Governor on Fox News as of late:

REAL CLEAR POLITICS – After a three-year run as a paid contributor to the nation’s highest-rated cable news channel, Sarah Palin and FOX News have cut ties, according to a source close to the former Alaska governor.

“It’s my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source close to Palin told RCP. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.”

The source declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.

            I can’t speak for others, but I can honestly say, I won’t watch CNN no matter who is on. Even if I had a TV. I still would not support mainstream media. I refuse to contribute to their viewership, on any basis.

                I wouldn’t insist it be purely conservative, even tho’ I am one by nature. If they’d just make the news genuinely truthful, good news or bad, they’d have all the dedicated fans they could handle just amongst us honest Americans. Hope that concept isn’t way too far ‘outside the box’.

                  Good point. In my mind I have been equating Conservative with Truth because right now, media is so tainted, that is what the relationship seems to be. But yes. True and accurate and responsible.

                Conservatives are needed at other networks to make their case to an audience that only listens to one point of view. Staying at Fox has less impact because she’s preaching to the choir. So, if this is what she’s doing that would be awesome!

              Yes, and the tons of commercials at all costs. “we will continue with the presentation of this crisis in our schools after a message from our sponsor” is what they mean when they continue to say “after the break’ and ‘stay with us’. I can’t stand that montonous unimaginative talk anymore.

                  Of course not. But there are way, way too many commercials. It’s good for them, but I’m fed up with filling my brain with thousands of messages I don’t need or want. It isn’t worth it. It’s like seeing people with their heads down all the time as they text, text and text, and hardly look at anyone anymore. It’s too much, that’s all.

                  Did you see Jay Leno interview a woman who was 103, and still very articulate? He asked her about what she thought of life today, comparing to when she was young. She said texting was something she thought was one thing, but overdone. Jay asked her what she thought would happen? She had the audience in stitches when she replied. When those young people get married and have children, they all will be born with big thumbs”.

          I used to watch Fox if I was going to watch commentary, but Fox has changed like poiliticians do and are becoming more shallow as time goes by. Rarely watch it now, but on the other hand wouldn’t watch MSNBC or CNN at gun point. Not a Palin for President person,but she makes more sense than anything the mainstream media regurgitates.

              The mainstream media is nothing but a cheap propaganda tool for the progressive movement. They exist because the majority of the Americqn people allow them to by paying attention to the lies and deceptions they constantly regurgitate. Palin is who she is and that is definitely a huge plus over those dedicated to “transforming” the greatest nation in history. A small problem is she is a galvanizing figure who would only continue to polarize our nation. Would I prefer her over Obama, of course.

                It’s not Palin we should focus on as the problem, it’s the media. Their goal is always to misdirect.

        Not really. The “source close to the former Alaska governor” was asked about CNN and the asker (I guess Scott Conroy) recieved an effective “no comment” reply.

        So we’ll have to wait and see. You have to assume that she’s only going to do something that continues the income stream. So it will probably involve some contract elsewhere, and not just her, retiring into a think-tank situation, or just being the head of a PAC. That would represent a loss of millions of bucks income.

        Of course, maybe she’s really frugal, and has decided to cut out the income stream and do something more directly hands on with her political activities. 2014 races are already being worked on, so who knows.

              Preaching to the choir. I suppose you could say that is what Rush Limbaugh is doing. A lot of information is funneled to him, which his audience can be informed about. I’m sure Sarah Palin would speak volumes about things she knows. When she appeared on TV shows, or on radio, she only has a certain amount of time. You know, the ‘running out of time’ thing. With her own show, no one will cut her off. This is important. People like Sarah don’t have to be running for President to be very useful and informative to the public.
              Preaching to the choir. Even the choir can be informed, so they can better inform others.

        If she had issues with Fox turning the screws on her scheduled interviews, she is smart enough to assume that another network will be just as unfair. I don’t think Palin is going to jump on any news bandwagons. I think she is going to take a “Beck” turn and continue her message through new media. Just my opinion.

      FOX didn’t like the fact that she went on Mark Levin’s show to announce she was not running for President. Roger Ailes was very, very “unhappy” about that. I think that’s why she got fewer and fewer on-air appearances. Punished by banishment.

      FOX’s loss, not Sarah’s.

I don’t know why he picked her other than the fact she was female in order to get us behind him. However, his true feelings about her were obvious and I hate him. I love Palin.

              My philosophy on why McCain picked Palin was this: McCain was so narrow minded that he thought picking a woman would garner him the Hillary female vote, who were very angry at Obama at the time for what he did to Hillary.

              Even though Palin was awesome and drew her own large crowds (bigger by far than McCain), the media made sure with their smear campaign that the Hillary vote would not swing to Palin and the rest is history, as they say.

          Stiflers, stiflers, stiflers. There are always people who wnat to deny other persons freedom to express themselves. That’s what happened to the press, and then television and radio. Freedom of the press became freedom only for the press. They became too big for their britches, thinking of themselves as all knowing about everything. Heck, they don’t even have to verify or confirm their pronouncements anymore..assuming is good enough, as long as it doesn’t affect their liberal-leftist agendas.
          I stopped buying newspapers at least 10 years ago, and sure don’t miss them. I predict a lot of good people are going to get fed up with movies and television, enough to only subscribe to the basic channels, and eventually just stick to internet and hand held technology. No business is indispensable. At this time, if people would contact advertisers about their sponsoring of immoral shows, there could be a change in programming, especially if advewrtisers don’t renew a contract. If people wrote to their representatives in government, the same could happen. As long as people do nothing, and think no one else writes, governments think people don’tcare what they do. They get bolder and bolder with their own agendas.
          Individual action counts, and we just need to “Just Do It.”

I say “You couldn’t pay me enough to bring that leftwing propaganda into my home” If someone persists and says “But it’s free, and for 13 weeks”, I reply “That’s fine, but that paper is not interested in what I have to say; they’re only interested in giving out their views.” That usually ends it.

        This is proof that Fox is no different than any other major network. They want to control the message and the messenger; just another source of corporate, controlled media. Have you ever noticed that they won’t give Michael Savage the time of day even though is one of the top 5 “talkers”? He was banned from Britain yet nobody on Fox would even do a story on it. Don’t think for a minute that there is anything “fair and balanced” about Fox.

                This is simply not true. Libs get to talk and then they are rebuked by conservatives who make a better point than if they only talked amongst themselves. In fact, I think their liberals are very weak and therefore they don’t allow us to make our points more forcefully. Juan is a sweet guy but he’s not that smart. Bob Beckel? Goodness, he can’t even articulate a good sentence but Kirsten Powers, for example is excellent and fair. She’s a liberal but she’s not blinded by her politics. She’s the only one I have EVER heard buck her own party. All of this is good for conservatism.

        I’m sorry she is gone from FOX but she’s savvy enough to know when to move on. Any network that hires Dennis Kucinich and still has Juan Williams on the roster makes me doubt their “conservative” creds even more … Sarah will land on her feet and she won’t have to wallow with the fanatics.

      Her Fox contract did not permit her to do interviews with other TV networks. She couldn’t even go on Mark Levin’s show without their permission.

      Alinsky tactics have definitely been used on Sarah as soon as she bounded on stage and garnered the attention of millions of conservatives. But, silenced conniption? Oh wow, I hope not. I’m hoping this is a sign Sarah is going to be more vocal. Her facebook comments and tweets have been very straight forward conservative views as usual. IMHO she will find a wide conservative audience through a new media outlet. I’ll keep following her messages……..they are the most optimistic ones I can find.

    Yes! Sarah unleashed. I knew that when Rupert Murdoch’s son came to New York that FOX news would change and that is exactly what is happening with the addition of Dennis Kucinich. I can definitely see that once respected network losing it’s credibility. I guess Sean Hannity will be next in a few more years.

      The change took place a long time back, when Fox actively promoted the 2011 debt ceiling increase. One could tell which way they were tacking as far back as 2008, though, when O’Reilly kept insisting that Obama was ‘brilliant’.

    Her message will get out, whether it’s through Fox or some other medium. Fox has decided to renew Juan Williams, Bob Beckel, and Karl Rove, so why would she want to be associated with a network that pretty much wants you to say what they tell you to say. She’s not like that. I’m sure there were many disagreements while she was there and it’s the reason you mainly saw her only on Greta.

    She’s moving forward and not remaining back or stagnating.

        Let’s face it, if people REALLY knew Gov. Palin and her record, her popularity would expl0de. She DOES appeal to people on both sides of the isle, even though she is a conservative. Her honesty, integrity and servant heart along with her willingness to go up against those who scr3w us, We The People, goes across party lines.

        IF she were to appear on, or have a contract with, a liberal outlet, she could reach a LOT of people who would never watch Fox.

        Anyway, she is smart as a fox, so whatever she does I’ll be supporting her 387%.

            Hey guys, she is just a chick from the past, born and raised with common sense, and didn’t sell out to the PC crowd. Millions of chicks like her were born with those traits, but most of them became sellouts. A prime example is the LSM. And that’s not the only place, just to see what’s happening to our culture says enough, and a lot of the man folks should take a hard look at them selves in the mirror as well.

      What they have “alleviated themselves of” is one last bit of annoying truth. But if you still foolishly cling to the notion that any print, cable or broadcast news is “credible”, than carry on in your delusion and I hope this news gives you comfort.

        Couldn’t really care less …. I’m not a regular Faux viewer …
        I only watch Faux during election returns …. I like to be in the enemy camp to gauge reactions…. the smell of desperation this last time was undeniable. That’s how I knew early on in the evening that Romney had lost the election, it was very quiet at campaign headquarters & the commentators back at the studio had that look of fear in their eyes. It was really quite fascinating.

                Oh, I have no doubt about your last statement. But last time I checked, it’s ok to have an opinion even though it doesn’t agree with my neighbor.
                I may have only joined this “forum” today, but that doesn’t make my statements any less valid.
                As for political affiliation, I have none to either predominant party. I vote one way for some things, and “the other way” for other things. To me, that’s true freedom which is what’s guaranteed to me in our “Constitutional Republic,” or, as I like to call it, The United States of America.
                Although I don’t really feel it warrants an answer, I think the “enemy camp” is the one of the candidate I do not support … regardless of affiliation. And, to answer the “flagging” comments, I have not “flagged” anyone, simply responded to comments.
                If you want to control all comments homogeneously, you may want to put that in the membership requirements so those of us who have a different opinion know we’re not welcome.

                  I like a good old-fashioned discussion, but I think this may be the wrong place for that. It seems more like a “fan site.”

But declaring another poster (BoB Scoop – interesting choice for a name) who has created an account solely to flag everyone talking to you is a bit of a stretch for believability – even for you liberals (oops, there was an insult, liberal. sorry).

                  Talk away, create as many accounts as you need (I saw one person make 7 extra accounts just to ‘like’ himself that many times. Ego is a tough thing to combat, I guess). It really doesn’t matter. Try to make reasonable comments about the topic if you want, or tell people that they are ignorant and stupid (without actually saying the words, of course – gotta remember Alinsky).                   While you didn’t break the comment rules your comment did come off as judgmental. If you don’t think Palin is credible- say why. As for fox, the only time I ever see a clip of it is on here- so I can’t judge it one way or another except that they give a heck of a lot more voice to liberals than any of the alphabet stations who are related to the present administration by marriage or funding. As for the flags, I have no idea. I just find it interesting that the only ones flagged were those who commented back to you- and now all of a sudden when you were called out on that, they stopped coming in.
                  You’ll notice you haven’t been kicked off. Scoop is a fair site. Just explain your points and give reasons. You’ll most likely still have a lot of folks arguing with you, but at least you’ll have given them reason ;-)

                  Wellll…. I’m getting a little tired, sorry for the delay —got a phone call —but I will answer your one question …. I don’t consider myself “highly educated,” but I do value intellect & reasonable connections from theory to evidence & intellect. Yeah, I know …. that sounds liberal …. some of my VERY conservative Christian acquaintances say you learn a LOT of liberal, wrong-headed, anti-Christian values in college. Maybe so. Maybe the ultimate liberal is really moderate, which is what I consider myself.

                  While the idea of Palin’s candidacy was fresh & exciting at first, I really didn’t know much about her actual platform (and really, still don’t in a lot of areas), but found her unable to “keep up” intellectually with some of the other candidates.
                  One thing that made a huge impression was when she couldn’t name any “in print” periodicals or newspapers she claimed to read. Seriously? You can’t even come up with the “Washington Post?” I would’ve been more satisfied if she had even named local, Alaskan printed media.

                  I remember when Clinton was running the first time & the big criticism was “oh, he’s just an intellectual.” And I, with my tendency to sarcasm, was spurred to think, “right, and we certainly wouldn’t want a SMART man as president!” I really don’t know YOUR particular affiliations (except that you seem to think they’re opposite mine), so I don’t know if or why you DO support her.

                  For me, it just comes down to her not being prepared too many times. That whole “Paul Revere” thing was another thing …. I know it wasn’t really any kind of political platform issue, but if you don’t know the history, don’t pretend that you do …. I think if she’d said she’d have to “bone up” on the exact order of events & get back to them I’d have been more supportive. It’s just an indication of thought process & problem solving …. hers doesn’t jibe with what I want from competent politicians.

                  When she was initially asked, she was trying not to endorse any particular one. When pressed, she decided to name a few of the many that she did does read. The LameStream made a big deal of it, she did not ‘claim’ to read any.

                  Do you claim to know the true story of what she said and do you believe she didn’t know what she was talking about? Perhaps more study is in order. Be careful that the history you learn in your school system may not be the real deal. For example, the schools teach the Declaration of Independence as saying “…endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights…” when in fact it is “unalienable”. So beware what you learn, for it may not be the correct truth (MSNBC teachs the truth, but it is the truth of their own making).

                  Sorry I have to respond up here because the thread is wearing thin and there was no response button below. Have you ever seen or read any of her stuff? I’m not the most knowledgeable one about her- I’m sure others know a lot more than I do- but I know she did get a lot of unwarranted flack from the media. Her Paul Revere statement was actually correct. It was the media which got it wrong.                   The thing is too, that everyone made fun of her for saying things like “I can see Russia from my house” But they fail to understand, it wasn’t her who said that. It was Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live as Sarah saying that.
                  She’s actually a very intelligent woman. She may have not had the best speeches back when she was running with McCain, but actually when the handlers left her alone, she did better.
                  As for my affiliations, I’m not a citizen yet, so I can’t vote. I’m not a Republican, definitely not a democrat. I’m a Constitutional Conservative. I believe in the Constitution as it was intended by the Founders, and I don’t see much of that goin’ on in the Republican party and definitely not in the democrat party.
                  I don’t mind a good heated discussion- I’ve had plenty. I’m not too wild with Intellect because some folks get carried away in mighty words, but short on common sense. I like to stick to the K.I.S.S. rule- Keep it simple silly. ;-)

            Not entirely accurate. Our forefathers used the words Democracy and Republic interchangeably. Even in a Republic representatives must be elected. This is why we are a Democratic Republic. Unfortunately, today too many people have bought into the Frank Luntz nonsense that we are a “Constitutional Republic”. And as we can see from history, that particular phrase was never used by our forefathers. This new phrase is just the GOP’s way of delegitimizing the Democratic party.

    I would be glad to cast my vote for her any day of the week.

My SO, on the other hand, is addicted to the nightly “news”” and we sometimes have heated discussions about what she is seeing.             Ok — you got me. Just for your personal satisfaction, I’ll cop to it. I WAS home schooled up to my teens. Then I attended a pretty good (not great) Christian private school.
            I was raised on a sailboat for most of my childhood, exploring the world by sea. A great way to grow up (my dad is a Reagan wanna-be, ex-TV actor who starred in a couple of 1950s cowboy series & my mom is a “peace & love,” crunch granola, everybody love each other liberal) and although unconventional, it certainly instills a sense of family being raised in such close quarters, but can be somewhat insular.
            I went to Pepperdine as an undergrad.
            I did my MA @ American U. in D.C.
            I teach on the college level. I’m currently on sabbatical (“Thank you, Big Pharma) to write my 3rd book … my other 2 sold … ok, but not as good as I’d have liked. Good reviews though.
            My publisher thinks this one is going to be popular. It’s a “happy romp” about women in politics and an exploration of the qualities required for success during various prevailing political climates …. I know you can’t wait to read it… Online discussion groups like this one give me a LOT of insight about the fringe elements, subversive influences & downright crazies “out there in Internetland” so I like to drop in temporarily and gauge the weather. It’s hot as Hades in this one! Some people around here are REALLY heated up!
            I have a whole chapter about Sarah Palin. However, not the most compelling person in the book, by far.
            So, you see, whatever Mrs. Palin does, it’s just cake for me. I look forward to her “next move,” even if it’s just being a mother and riding snow machines with her hubby into the sunset.

              Unlike what you have said today to others (accusing someone of going after your kids when all they said was they had a concern for them – very poor taste on your part, I must say. Not very becoming of a lady), you at least have a story to tell me. I wish you all the luck with your new book. Not sure that us ‘fringe element types’ can help you, but then like you said, the first two books didn’t sell very well, so we won’t expect too much from the third. So surprising.

    Let’s face it, Sarah Palin is done. Her time came and went. She blew it when she resigned as governor and didn’t follow up by running for the GOP nomination. She squandered whatever political capital she had by going after being a celebrity and making her millions. The choice was hers through and through, but now she has painted herself in a corner and frankly she will never rise to the level John McCain put her in 2008. It’s time for the bitter clinging Palinistas to let go. I am sad to say it, but it has to be said because it was always there in front of us.

    To be honest I let go as a Palinista when she decided not to run in 2012, though I should have let go when she resigned the governorship. I knew that that move was ridiculous, but for whatever reason I just wanted to believe she had something up her sleeve and that she would outsmart the Left and the elites yet! Boy, that was foolish! Fundamentals are what they are. You can’t defy gravity for long and in politics, Palin couldn’t continue to do the things she and her family were doing the past few years and still come out smelling like roses!

    When FOX doesn’t want to have anything to do with you, then you know that your prominent spot on the conservative pecking has diminished. I wish Palin good luck in her private life and if she has political aspiration again, she will have to regain the trust of Alaskans again, but I doubt they’ll give her another chance. Sad day, especially because she is one of the few genuine articles in politics. But the country will get on and there are others who can lead and I am sure she’ll be there to support them in the future. I just hope now people will stop wasting their lives in hope that Palin will somehow become president of the United States. Ha! She’ll be lucky to ever be Mayor of Wasilla again!

    I DO generally only watch Fox on certain occasions, but I find them to be wholly one-sided. I prefer only to watch news presented without commentary when I’m watching “news.” That is rarely something I can find on Fox. That is why I refer to them as “Faux,” because they insist on using “News” in their title. As far as unbiased news, that’s hard to find. I’m looking for — and have yet to find — a “Dragnet” style “just the facts, ma’m” kind of news network …. but alas, it’s not profitable to JUST report the news. Sad.

          Yeah, I knew that when I replied to her. I used to watch the original, back in the day, and they were somewhat based on actual stories as well. The show is still a fake Hollywood drama (Jack Webb hated guns, btw) and I was having fun.

          I was disappointed that she didn’t claim that “just the facts, ma’am” was actually said, because like Palin’s non-quote of “seeing Russia from my front porch”, neither phrase was actually said in reality.

If CNN has a captivated audience of left minded followers, I think Palin feels her time is best spent pounding her message and hopefully changing a heart or two.     I am beginning to take an interest in Rand Paul. His interrogation of Queen Hillary showed he was willing to go against the rules, and go after the real truth of Benghazi.

    I found it amusing, that most of the major news networks printed the story that this stupid woman made it through the Benghazi interrogations and came out the other side even stronger than she was before. Don’t you just love Obama’s media?

    Wouldn’t you like to have something like that on the Conservative side of things?

        You’re not gonna like this, but “freedom of religion” also means “freedom FROM religion” and it really has no place in hashing out governmental matters.

        I do have a substantial background in Christian spirituality, but tend not to employ it in political discussion save to influence me in making decisions based on personal morality.
        Religion is a very personal thing. The most spiritual people I know, who seem the most “at peace” with their faith are some Presbyterian ministers with multiple doctorates in Religious Studies (one actually has 4 from universities in America & Europe). They don’t constantly proselytize or make judgements, but are always willing to offer support & wisdom when asked. I’ve heard them give some wonderful sermons. However, I’ve never heard them use religion as a tool to put anyone down or prove a political point. You may not admire this kind of behavior, but I do.

        As for open ears, I believe most of us have some degree of “blocked ear” syndrome. I am really TRYING to listen, ears open, but all I’ve heard is (mostly) “you are wrong,” “troll,” or allegations disputing my personal assertions (such as political affiliation, education, intelligence, etc.) and credentials.

        If YOU have any feelings, opinions or objective date as to why you may prefer Sarah Palin or regarding opinions as to her departure from Fox, I’ll listen.

        I’ll even start:

        Sarah Palin was NOT fired from Fox, but I believe she may have been “pushed” out. Many of her pieces were cut from air, they were using her less & less and they offered her a contract that obviously she felt compelled to refuse. It may have to do with Fox no longer wanting her on staff but due to contract terms, not being able to “fire” her without substantial recompense. I really have no idea what goes on there or what kind of network they are “evolving” into.
        I think it may be a case of when the cheerleaders stop asking you to sit with them during lunch, you know you’re not in the group anymore. By treating Palin that way, Fox seemed to send a message she really wasn’t wanted.

        I’ll be interested to see what becomes of her. I don’t like her politically, but she IS entertaining.

          I think Palin left voluntarily, simply to do something more creative and effective for the ideals she holds dear. I think all of her life activites to date have been shown to be motivated this way. But that is speculation, and in time we will see what she wants to do next.

          I believe in her for many reasons. But I cannot start at this late hour, actually. I am long overdue getting offline tonight. So, I have to stop at my one speculation.

          I was born on a farm in Tennessee. Cotton country. Little town called Bells, south of Memphis.

          Last time I went back for a visit, I couldn’t find anything that looked familiar. All the stores had Spanish names. All the churches were Catholic and Spanish only. The ice cream shop where my brother and I used to spend our Saturdays before taking in a movie, no longer exists.

          It looked like a ghost town.

          It looked like Mexico.

          Most Americans who have always lived in our big cities have no idea what illegal immigration is doing to this country.

          The takeover of Illegals of this country is so massive and so overwhelming, I don’t even want to talk about it anymore. Because no one understands it like those of us who live near the border.

          Everyone thinks that illegal immigration only affects the border states.

          How can the American people be so stupid? Arizona, and Texas, and California, just provide the gate way, to the entire country.

          Do you realize that there are radio stations in Minnesota, that only broadcast in Spanish?

          There are Mexican Illegals living in Brooklyn, for God’s sake.

          I no longer have any faith in the Federal Government to protect this country.

    Has anyone ever considered perhaps Sarah Palin is thinking about running for political office again? This is around the time I believe Newt and Santorum both withdrew from their Fox News Contract to run for president.

    In 2014 the Alaskin Democratic Senator, who won Ted Steven’s seat in 2008, is up for re-election perhaps Sarah Palin is going to run for that seat.

I see there is some good commentary regarding Governor Palin and this most recent development, but there are a few very extreme people here who only seem interested in flexing their crazy bone. As a card carrying member of the GOP I hate to see this kind of conservatism gone bad. If I’m not extreme enough for some of you I wonder if you’d prefer to let the dems keep beating the crap out of us. I think we need to support each other and come up with a really good candidate. Mitt Romney wasn’t it. I don’t think Governor Palin is up to it. Who is the best fit?

I find his racism very offensive. But I’m sure he doesn’t care since I’m not 100% white myself. He sounds very scared of Mexicans. I know lots of different kinds of people. From what I can see it’s not race that is threatening. It is ignorance. Being afraid of a race of people because things aren’t just the same way they always were is pretty ignorant. I don’t think God wants us to discriminate. But maybe some people don’t care what God wants.

    Sarah has never hesitated to give up the money for a different calling. She took pay cut as Mayor, resigned as Oil and Gas Commission when she saw corruption, resigned as Gov when she was driven into bankruptcy. Her and Todd were never wealthy when she did that. It had to be tight.

She was wise to make sure that can never happen again.

            Of the $250,000 that was left Palin could pay out of her $7 million book deal or her $100,000 speech fee. (two and a half speeches and her legal bills are paid)

    If she’s going to get back into politics, she goes straight to the top, or not at all. She could be in the WH right now. Conservatives wanted her. RNC had different plans. Water under the bridge–but if she wants it, she gets another chance in 4 years. She would probably get, I don’t know, maybe 99% of the conservative vote? Something like that?

    Most of us got behind Romney eventually and meant it. With Romney it was “well, we need Obama out of there. Romney is much better.” With Palin it’s “Please please run for President, please. Please.”

        I have been reading, but did not feel compelled to speak to anyone until now. I have created an account just for the purpose to speak on something I think I may know something about. I know this may be considered off topic, but I feel I must say something. As the mother and the sister of persons with developmental disabilities, what you call the “legitimate word,” “tard” IS offensive. It is considered hate speech in most compassionate and informed communities.
        Popular usage, as defined in most dictionaries (as in http://www.dictionary.com) defines it as such:

        “Slang Dictionary
        tard definition
        n. a person who behaves as if retarded. (See also retard. Derogatory and potentially cruel.) : You tard! Why did you do that?”

        “Libtard” is not recognized as a legitimate word by official sources and those sources that do recognize and sanction it deserve to be called on it. There is a nationwide campaign to educate the public on the offensive nature of “The R Word.” “Tard” is a portion of that word. Personally, I find the use of such words extremely offensive whether you call someone a “f***tard” or any other variation. You may say it’s all legitimate, neat and tidy, but that is an easy out. I am sorry if you are offended but if you can look at my beautiful child and my wonderful brother and feel good about using such words, you have no soul.

      I would be happy with a Palin/Bachmann or Palin/West team up. I would also be OK with Palin/Rubio, but not the other way around because Rubio wants to pass immigration reform. If Palin were on top of the ticket she would close the borders and pass her own plan to reform the immigration system from corruption. Then Rubio wouldn’t have his plans pass. It is his main problem. Take it out and Marco Rubio is pretty good. Better than Paul Ryan. I could also be OK with a West/DeMint ticket or Rand Paul/Allen West ticket.

    Palin is awesome!!! All you haters can go fly a kite. If she is so “stupid” and “useless” as you haters say, why are you even talking about her?? Palin is one of the best things to happen to our party.

    I suspect there may have been conditions to her contract that would interfere with her ability to do other work. She needs to be a free agent or move on to bigger and better things. Many conservatives were not (and are still not) happy with Fox News so she needs to distance herself from that network.

    Palin’s great. But so is Allen West, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Scott Walker to name a few. You should admit Bachmann should have done a lot better in the Iowa last year, but the voters got brainwashed against her. Then Santorum took her momentum and won in all conservative and republican states. But the deck was stacked against him with Mitt Romney being the elites choice and both Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich being hard-headed and not dropping out in time. Palin has her worked cut out if she runs in 2016. It will be the same thing thrown at her as Bachmann and Santorum. Plus I have a feeling Rand, Santorum, West and others may contemplate a run as well. Technically Santorum is next in line. I wish Palin well in whatever she does next. If she ran and won that would be great for the country.

I AM on sabbatical with a lovely grant from one of the drug companies (what can I say, they like to promote “social agenda” by giving stipends to us “literary” types), and I do teach, currently on the U level, but I have taught (History, Public Policy, Sociology … ok … you’d say “Socialism,” and various other subjects across the grade spectrum. If you have kids and if you’ve ever sent them to ANY kind of traditional educational institutions, I COULD be/may have been/might be their teacher! That’s kind of a scary thought.

    As for “insert flag here,” just WHERE were you pointing? Again: …..Hahahahahahhaa! Have you ever considered a career in comedy? You do make me laugh.

          Ahhh, that’s why you flag every person responding to you – it’s a lack of knowledge of the comments policies. Okay. But, know this. If you can’t prove something in a blog, don’t say it in the first place, because that is no more than pretending you are something you aren’t. It’s as simple as that. You can call yourself the Queen of Sheba, but it doesn’t make it true, no matter how outraged you may appear when someone calls you on it.

          It appears, however, that you violate what you think are the rules whenever you feel the need, but hide under the false umbrella when you need to backtrack. I had already figured that.

          This site, unlike MediaMatters and it’s ilk, is a family of sorts, with dialogue back and forth from all it’s members. The conversation is civil and only gets nasty if someone comes in like you did with the agenda you had. If you had read more and spewed less, you may have understood that.

          I’m happy that you are getting something out of this. We find the more time a liberal spends here, the more the ice melts around them and they come closer to the truth. I feel we are close with you. Please keep coming back. There is hope.

                  As I said before, I knew you flagged me. You made the mistake twice now in claiming that I used a ‘certain word’ (libtard, btw). I never used that word against anyone. I did nothing more than inform and clarify, as you attempted to do as “jane”. I found it interesting that, as ‘jane’, you said nothing to the person who actually used that word, but felt it important enough to attack me. So be it.

                  Btw, as to the word hatred. Hmmm. I challenge you to show me one comment I made to you, just one, that is filled with hatred. I don’t feel hatred toward you, I feel pity. My comments are a combination of humor and sarcasm, and they might be biting to you as they hit close to home, but there is never an ounce of hatred in it. That is the liberal mistake. They hate with all their hearts and then declare that those who oppose them are filled with hatred. Interesting.

                  Now, I don’t blame you. It’s not your fault. You have been surrounded by it all your life, while you were growing up as a child, when you went to College, and even now in your adulthood. But it’s not too late. You CAN walk away from it, although it will be hard. You took the first step coming here. Even though your initial purpose was to bash Palin and Conservatives in general, you stayed and by staying it shows that you have a desire inside of you to learn. That’s a good thing. Reach for that, embrace it. You CAN walk away from the dark.
