Rush talks Obama’s missing birth certificate

Rush spent nearly his entire first segment talking about a story he’s been sitting on all week. He say she wanted to see what happened to it before he weighed in on it. I’ve gotten emails on it myself but I’ve pretty much ignored it. The story is the case of Obama’s missing birth certificate.

The new Hawaii Governor, who vowed to end this birth certificate conspiracy, now claims that he can’t find it in the archives. There’s only a notation that it exists, but no actual birth certificate. Rush says that something is certainly not right about this story, but he believes that it may just be more trickery to get the birthers all worked up.

In the segment following this one (which is not included in the video), he made the point that they have someone on record in 2008 vouching for Obama, saying that they actually saw it. And now the Hawaii Governor can’t find it? He warns of deception and trickery here.

Enjoy!

      Jan 11,2011
WASHINGTON: The US Supreme Court has dismissed a petition questioning the citizenship of President Barack Obama, dealing a severe blow to his detractors who were challenging his US birth certificate.

The Court yesterday refused to hear an appeal filed by the California lawyer Orly Taitz, leader of the “birther” movement.

She was contesting a USD 20,000 fine for filing what a federal judge called a “frivolous” lawsuit.

The law suit was filed on behalf of an Army Captain Connie Rhodes, who sought to avoid deployment by claiming that Obama was not born in the US and therefore could not act as commander-in-chief.

more than likely its a trap to get conservatives to jump on the birther bandwagon then paint us all with the crazy brush. even if it’s true that they can’t find it, it doesn’t mean anything…

    • Mainely Steve

If this is a trap, it would have to have been thought about prior to the election when the other candidates released theirs and he didn’t release his. Personally I don’t think anyone in his camp is that bright. It is actually about his nationality, American mother +Kenyan father= Kenyan citizenship.

      • Anonymous

I think he needs two American parents and to be born on American soil or parts thereof.

  • RyokTHEgod

What if…? What if it’s true, what happens then?

    • Anonymous

I would think that there would be a special election. All the bills signed by him would be null and void. His appointments to the Supreme Court would be invalidated. Any treaties that he’s signed wouldn’t be valid either. It would be like on big giant political eraser for the last two years. I’m only speculating though or perhaps just some wishful thinking.

      • Who exactly is going to decide his Supreme Court appointments are invalidated exactly? The Supreme Court?

My speculation (although nothing is ever going to come of any of this, so it’s just speculation) is that Biden would simply be named President. That’s the closest thing one could find to a constitutional solution. Basically treat the current President as if he had been impeached and was found unfitting to serve. The laws passed under him might have to be re-thought, but I highly doubt the Supreme Court would force Congress to re-vote, and why should they? The bills passed under congress once already, so it would be a simply re-sign by Joe Biden.

Of course, I just made most ofthat up, but it is my best guess.

That said, it’s been 2+ years. All of the litigation and whatever else it would take to actually prove anything would be well past the next election. I’m just not going to spend any time worrying about it whatsoever.

      • Also, think of the rabbit hole this leads down. If the man wasn’t born here, he surely never took a naturalization test. Therefore, he is not and has not been a U.S. citizen (natural born or otherwise) which would then mean he was never qualified to by a U.S. Senator. Do we also throw out every single thing he voted on while in the Senate too?

All of this said, I have no reason to believe he wasn’t born here. The burden of proof is always with the accuser and not the accused. It’s not his job to prove he was born here, but someone else’s job to prove he wasn’t.

        • Anonymous

I’ve stated all over the place that I think it’s merely a lighting rod for the left and should be avoided at all costs.

Here’s an example though I meet a girl at the bar and sleep with her. Then it turns out she’s under 18 and illegally gained entrance into the bar, I’m still going to jail for sex with a minor. I think I have a consensual contract between adults but I don’t one of the members in the group doesn’t have the authority to enter into that contract.

IF he’s not actually the President because he’s not a citizen then he doesn’t have the authority to enter into those contracts.

Sure we’d throw out every single vote he’s ever made because he wasn’t allowed to make any of them in this hypothetical. Odds are though he wasn’t the swing vote on anything since he usually just voted present.

The supreme court appointees would have to recuse themselves from hearing the case because it directly effects them. Which leaves us with a dominantly Conservative bench. I think they’ll come down on our side.

          • Of course he doesn’t have the authority, but all of that is secondary to the question of not only whether or not you take the giant leap to void all of the bills he has signed into law, but how do you do that? There is no law giving congress this power. There is nowhere in the constitution that this is found. Maybe you take it to the Supreme Court, but how do they rule on this? Do they say only his signature is void, but the passage of the bills through congress are still upheld, and now Joe Biden can simply go and re-sign everything Obama once signed into law?

The point is, there is no precedent for something like this and I think it’s far to simple to just assume that we’d somehow come up with a way to throw everything out.

Personally, I think the Supreme Court would just take the practical approach, realize that everything that passed through the prior congress, including appointments, would almost certainly be re-approved by Joe Biden and therefore a giant waste of time to go through and do it all again. That’s just me.

            • Anonymous

I know, that’s why it’s a hypothetical question. We’re all assuming because there’s no precedent.

What’s so simplistic about saying he doesn’t have the authority to enter into a contract with the people. Congress passes laws and the President has to sign off on them. If the President refuses the congress has to over-ride his veto with a super majority in both houses. There is precedence for that aspect in the constitution.

You’re assuming Joe Biden gets the President position. I’m assuming that there will be a special election for the vacated seat. I’m pretty sure someone could make a great argument for Biden never making it to his position as VP with out Obama, which kind of sounds like an ill gotten gains argument. I’m not a lawyer I’m just using a mismatch of legal cases that I’ve heard of.

Occam’s razor might agree with you though.

Don’t forget this part of my initial statement as well, “I’m only speculating though or perhaps just some wishful thinking.”

Something would happen that’s what we’re all trying to guess at. There’s no precedence for it. The military guys that refused to go to war because of this situation would be vindicated for one thing.

I’m pretty sure it would get past just hubbub and uproar. The latter one making me think it would be followed up by a something.

        Wikipedia on Western Journalism:

The Western Journalism Center (also called the Western Center for Journalism) was founded in 1991 by Joseph Farah and James H. Smith. It is based in Sacramento, California.

The Center helped fund Christopher W. Ruddy (who later founded NewsMax) to investigate conspiracies surrounding the death of Vincent Foster, which was part of the Arkansas Project.[1] Eventually, “the Center placed some 50 ads reprinting Ruddy’s Pittsburgh Tribune-Review stories in the Washington Times, then repackaged the articles as a packet titled “The Ruddy Investigation,” which sold for $12.” In addition, “Farah also bought full page ads publicizing Ruddy’s allegations that appeared in papers including The New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Los Angeles Times” and “the ad campaign brought in over $500,000, half from individual donors-many of whom bought Foster conspiracy materials-and half from foundations, including $100,000 from Carthage.” The Carthage Foundation is controlled by Richard Mellon Scaife, whose foundations gave $330,000 to the Center in 1994 and 1995.[2] Later, “WJC circulated a video featuring Ruddy’s claims, Unanswered-The Death of Vincent Foster, that was produced by ultra-conservative James Davidson, chairman of the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) and co-editor of the Strategic Investment newsletter.”

In 1998, the Center sued the IRS claiming it was audited in 1996 for political reasons. The lawsuit was thrown out, with appeals denied. A lower court ruled that the IRS could not be sued on allegations of politically motivated auditing practices, while a federal appeals court ruled that the Center’s lawsuit was barred by the statute of limitations.[3]

In 1997, Farah created the news website WorldNetDaily as a division of the Western Journalism Center. In 1999, WorldNetDaily was spun off[4] as a for-profit division of the Center. The Center and Farah own a majority of WorldNetDaily’s stock.[5]

The Center doesn’t include either an address or telephone number on its letterhead, but is believed to be headed by conservative political operative Floyd Brown.[6]

In March 2009, the Center sent out an email questioning Barack Obama’s citizenship.

I have been following this all along and have my own theory which I shall present here, but first let me say. No way is this going to come to fruition. He will remain in office. So, in that sense, it is a wasted effort, or at least a dissipating of our forces. However, questions like these demand answers. It is just the simple human need for justice, a plausible explanation to something like this that keeps it going, I think.

OK, here’s my scenario. His mother gave birth in Kenya when she was there with his father and his family, and then they brought her over to Hawaii and declared his birth there. She was used to traveling and was healthy and young so could have traveled easily with a young child. The grandparents were very involved and later raised him for a while so it is an easy stretch for me that all concerned would have seen the benefits of American citizenship as a wise and sensible choice since Hawaiian birth registration allows such things to happen. Babies are born out in villages and the registrar is informed of it.

Is this too big a stretch? Sorry writing to just you, CM. Mean for others to comment as well. Just seemed a good spot to jump in.

p.s. I appreciate the back story by MamaGrizz about the Farah group who got me thinking about this in the first place. Many want to discredit. I learned from them about the loose Hawaiian baby registration procedures, and I think that’s where I first saw the video with his auntie, or grandma, so happy about the new baby being born right there in their village.

{After two weeks, mystery still surrounds death of Wheeler
January 17, 2011|By Kathleen Brady Shea, Inquirer Staff Writer
An unfitting end to an illustrious career.
That’s how several West Point classmates viewed the New Year’s Eve discovery of a prominent defense expert’s body in a Wilmington landfill.
Two weeks after Newark, Del., police identified John “Jack” P. Wheeler 3d, 66, of New Castle, as a homicide victim, investigators still have released few particulars about the case, allowing conspiracy theorists of all kinds to draw pictures of their own.

In a long, successful career, Wheeler fought for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, advised high-level Washington officials on defense issues, worked as secretary of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and served as first chief executive of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
“At a time when most of us are retired, he’s not only employed, he’s overemployed – and all in the service of his country,” said Thornblom, who with other classmates, still close to Wheeler, expressed puzzlement and regret over the mystery of Wheeler’s death.

He said Wheeler’s work on issues ranging from cybersecurity to military tactics was fueling conspiracy theorists, and he suggested that investigators’ reluctance to release their findings could make the case more difficult.

          “This is really off the charts for someone like Jack,” Loftin said. “There are few people who would stun us like that, especially the way in which he died. He was a fabulous man, someone who was always watching your back in whatever you were doing.”}

I might not be so concerned if I trusted the current Gov’t.

          Concerned Griz

          • I posted several findings on Mr. Wheeler’s activities (and those of one of his primary corporate entity relations) ~ As I said then:

            http://www.mitre.org/work/mission_areas.html

Mr. Wheeler’s death (especially its openly ‘inglorious’ method/manner of ‘disposal’) was, I believe, A WARNING SHOT… across the bow of many disenchanted, otherwise-recalcitrant parties in this final PUSH to destroy our Republic from within.

            Kooky “conspiracy theory”?

            God, I HOPE SO!

I would have never been so happy to be so wrong, in my life.

But again, and in closing… watch MITRE for the next year to 18 months.

Update – My research is turning up info. I haven’t seen before and some really wierd stuff about 911 – and the collapse of US from a lefty perspective-within weeks…….

              Examiner says:

Wheeler’s last neighbor, and the one who has the most to share about the week surrounding his death, is Ron Roark.
John’s neighbor Ron heard loud noise emminating from John’s television during Christmas week, and it wasn’t the usual occassional program, as Roark says: it was so loud as to be disturbing…and it was continuous for days.”
“…Delaware law enforcement aren’t saying how John P. Wheeler III died, but they are denying his home was the crime scene. However, according to WTOP FM Radio, two wooden chairs in the Wheeler’s kitchen had yellow crime scene tape stretched across them–and several wooden floorboards near the two chairs were missing.

This could indicate that John P. Wheeler took that Amtrak train and actually made it home. He might also have had an unexpected guest who felt noise was called for as he searched for something buried in the kitchen–and left John Wheeler tied to a chair.

Police have not indicated how John Wheeler died, thus it is not know if torture was part of that death. But unusually loud television noise is often used to mask the sounds of activity others are not meant to hear in the criminal world, and John P. Wheeler did die by foul play.”…

        • From what can be gleaned of the life, history and travel patterns of the mother (AND her family)… seems a very plausible scenario.

Do a FOIA request for your state asking for documentation submitted to put BHO on the ballot. Usually this is the Secy of State’s office. Ask for all support documentation as well. I did this and the only form I received is one signed by Pelosi where she verifies that “all is good”. I called them and said they forgot to send me support documents (ie birth certificate) and they responded that they didn’t have anything else. So basically, they just accepted Pelosi’s signature. I have since corresponded to push our state to ask for all supporting documents in future elections.

This is simply a win-win for the Democrats.

Assuming BHO is American born, they can show up with the BC during the election cycle and heap more calumny on the heads of Conservative right-wing nut bars, and top that off with their “we told you so” schadenfreude.

But if the BC isn’t produced they can heap calumny on the heads of Conservative right-wing nut bars anyway for the temerity of suggesting that the President isn’t legitimate and for wolfing down the bait laid by Abercrombie.

The Dems can’t lose on this.

    • Anonymous

      Exactly

  • I think we should at least demand it be produced before Obama runs for another term , in fact anyone running for president should have to produce a legal birth certificate at the time they enter the race . If that’s not a law it should be .

    • BadgerPackerFan

See my response above about the FOIA request I did here in WI. Every state is responsible for allowing names on the ballot. Start researching now what your state does and then start working on them to get this basic requirement down. The qualifications for POTUS are not very stringent; but everyone should at least have to prove them. Heck, I have to provide my son’s birth certificate for sporting events!

So what would it take to make the bc to look like it were old and authentic? Well, Obama would be able to get all that taken care of, especially when the socialist governor lies with such disregard, Obama also worked on a board that issues birth certs. So far, I believe Beck..not perfect but I believe he seeks truth even if it hurts him or us. He has not been pursuing this. I used to be mad at him. But with his on line news – The Blaze – and the facts he works hard to get, though he’s not right all the time, he’s willing to admit wrong…..

    Wilipedia:
These claims are promoted by a number of fringe theorists and political opponents, some of whom filed lawsuits that sought to disqualify Obama from running for, or being confirmed as, President, or to obtain additional proof that he is qualified. All of the cases have been rejected in lower courts.[4] Three suits were filed with and dismissed by the Supreme Court of the United States.[5][6] Although Obama was confirmed as president-elect by Congress on January 8, 2009,[7] and sworn in as President on January 20,[8] litigation continued into his presidency. Those promoting these conspiracy theories are frequently called “birthers”, paralleling “truthers”[9] for adherents of 9/11 conspiracy theories.[10]
In 2008 the Obama campaign released his birth certificate, certified by the Hawaii Department of Health, and posted a scanned image of it online. The posted certificate states that Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.[1] The certificate also states, “This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding”. Frequent arguments of those questioning Obama’s eligibility are that he has not released a photocopy of his “original” or “long form” birth certificate, but rather a redacted “short form” version. It has also been claimed that the use of the term “certification of live birth” on the document means it is not equivalent to one’s “birth certificate”. These arguments have been debunked numerous times by media investigations,[11] every judicial forum that has addressed the matter, and Hawaiian government officials—a consensus of whom have concluded that the certificate released by the Obama campaign is indeed his official birth certificate.[12] Asked about this, Hawaiian Department of Health spokeswoman Janice Okubo stated that Hawaii “does not have a short-form or long-form certificate”.[13] Moreover, the director of her Department has confirmed that the state “has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures”.[

I think he was born here,… its just that his birth certificate states that he is Caucasian. To clear this up all states should pass laws that require you to furnish evidence of eligibility before your name could be put on a ballot. That would put an end to it.

I have followed this issue for a long, long time and I agree with your basic assessment. I believe he probably was born here, however, there is something in that birth certificate that doesn’t jive with what he’s told us via his two books, that doesn’t jive with his college records, etc. etc. So somewhere, he’s lied and that’s why he’s put everything undercover. Rush mentions World Net Daily…

Finally Limbaugh has the political cover, provided by Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie, from the “birther” flack that will come to anybody who publically supports Joseph Farah and World Net Daily about the duplicity of the “Obama birthers” who denegrate the “constitution birthers” who demand accountability from Obama about his genesis and his citzenship status.

Any right thinking person who has read even half of the articles on WND

has already come to understand that THE ISSUE is “natural born” citizenship status, not simple citizenship.

    What’s the difference?

If only ONE parent is a U.S. citizen, the baby is a U.S. citizen.

If TWO parents are U.S. citizens, the baby is a “natural born” U.S. citizen… period.

Obama admits that only ONE parent was a U.S. citizen at his birth, his mother.

    Case closed.

BOTH parents of a U.S. citizen MUST be U.S. citizens for a child to be considered a “natural born” citizen.

    Conclusion…

Obama is not a “natural born” U.S. citizen, even though he is definitely a U.S. citizen if he was born on U.S. territory.

Another legal issue is that Obama may not be a U.S. citizen if his mother gave birth off of U.S. territory while she was too young by U.S. law to give her baby simple citizenship status.

Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie has opened the door to impeachment proceedings to begin in the U.S. House of Representatives, the constitutionally ordained place to investigage “high crimes and misdemeanors” committed by the POTUS.

    • Now I can research again, but I’ve read the actual citizenship laws and looked up her date of birth, and she was not, in fact, to young. She was old enough.

That’s IF he was born on US soil. I still remember the video of his auntie in Kenya rejoicing saying a boy from our village!! or words to that effect.

  • Since I can’t edit my own comments, I’ll just say you are right, she was a few months away from being 19 which would have been her 5th year after the age of 14.

However, the whole “natural born citizen” case is more blurry than that. The phrase natural born citizen is not clarified in the constitution and here is what Madison himself said on the issue:”It is an established maxim that birth is a criterion of allegiance. Birth however derives its force sometimes from place and sometimes from parentage, but in general place is the most certain criterion; it is what applies in the United States.”

THe last line there is the important line. Now, I understand Madison wasn’t the end all be all, but we must understand there is cause for debate here as to what is and is not a natural born citizen.

For my own interpretation, anyone who is a citizen at birth is therefore a natural born citizen. If Obama was indeed born in the United States, to a citizen parent, then he would have indeed been a natural born citizen.

Let’s look to the qualification for the Office of President, in question, as found in the Constitution:

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.

      Directly stated:

      1) No person except a natural born Citizen shall be eligible to the Office of the President.

      2) A Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of the President.

      Indirectly stated:

      3) A Citizen of the United States, after the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall not be eligible to the Office of the President, except the Citizen of the United States shall be a natural born Citizen.

Facts are in evidence that Obama and the Democratic National Committee have admitted that:

“When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children. In the two comment request forms on that page, they do not refer to Obama as a “natural born Citizen”.

      Friend –

Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America.

A “native” Citizen of the United States, after the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall not be eligible to the Office of the President, except the Citizen of the United States shall be a natural born Citizen.

Because of Obama’s citizenship status at the time of his birth was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948, Obama like his father was a British subject at birth. Obama owes allegiance to the foreign sovereign power of Great Britain, the very foreign sovereign that our Founding Fathers declared their Independence from when they wrote the Declaration of Independence.

What was the purpose of the Founder’s adding the following qualification for the Office of President in Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution?

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.

Their purpose could not have been stated more clearly than when, John A. Bingham excluded persons who owed allegiance to foreign sovereigns from being a “natural born citizen” in a statement before Congress on 9 Mar 1866:

“[I] find no fault with the introductory clause, which is simply declaratory of what is written in the Constitution, that every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen. . . . ” — John A. Bingham, (R-Ohio) US Congressman, March 9, 1866 Cong. Globe, 39th, 1st Sess., 1291 (1866), Sec. 1992 of U.S. Revised Statutes (1866).

“I will enlarge no more on the evidence, but submit it to you, gentlemen.—Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence: nor is the law less stable than the fact.” — John Adams, ‘Argument in Defense of the Soldiers in the Boston Massacre Trials,’ December 1770, US diplomat & politician (1735 – 1826). View @ Google Books: http://books.google.com/books?id=SVosv-IF4cAC&pg=PA296#v=onepage&q=facts%20are%20stubborn%20things

      • As fantastic as all of this is, it simply isn’t the way the law is interpretted right now. So long as we count every person born within the UNited States as citizens at birth (and we still are) then there is no argument to be had.

When it comes to the legal code, there is no distinction between “natural born” citizen and this “native” citizen, which is what Art also seems to be arguing. There is citizen at birth, and then non-citizens. Maybe it SHOULDNT be that way, but that’s how the courts have largely ruled. If you are a citizen at birth then you are natural born citizen, there is no in-between status that is actually recognized by the law.

Confusing the two terms, “native” Citizen of the United States and “natural born citizen” would be an argument, which would be inadmissible as stated by the opinion of the Supreme Court, which was delivered by Chief Justice Marshall, in Marbury vs Madison:

          U.S. Supreme Court
          MARBURY v. MADISON, 5 U.S. 137 (1803)
          5 U.S. 137 (Cranch)
          WILLIAM MARBURY
          v.
JAMES MADISON, Secretary of State of the United States.
          February Term, 1803

Mr. Chief Justice MARSHALL delivered the opinion of the court.

          Relevant portion:

It cannot be presumed that any clause in the constitution is intended to be without effect; and therefore such construction is inadmissible, unless the words require it.

Therefore, any argument that the “natural born Citizen” clause of Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution is intended to have the same effect as the “Citizen of the United States” clause, also found in the said Article, Section and Clause is inadmissable, unless the words require it.

And in said Article, Section and Clause, the words do not require it.

          1) A natural born Citizen shall be eligible to the Office of the President.

          2) A Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of the President.

          3) A Citizen of the United States, after the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall not be eligible to the Office of the President, except the Citizen of the United States shall be a natural born Citizen.

All “natural born Citizens” shall be “Citizens of the United States” and eligible to the Office of the President.

However not all “Citizens of the United States” shall be “natural born Citizens”, which is required for any “Citizen of the United States” to be eligible to the Office of the President.

The unconscionable part about this entire matter whatever your opinions are on his birth certificate. There is someone degrading the office of the Presidency by allowing this to continue. The fact that he plays right along with this, and seems to enjoy this game he is playing with concerned citizens, and others do not force him to do the right thing no matter what the outcome, shows you just how emotionally sick this man is.

    Anatomy Of Malignant Narcissism

In 1970, Otto Kernberg coined the term, “malignant narcissism”; he pointed out that the antisocial personality was fundamentally narcissistic and without morality. Malignant narcissism includes a sadistic element, creating, in essence, a sadistic psychopath. In this essay, “malignant narcissism” and psychopathy are employed interchangeably.
Imagine, as an abuse survivor of someone with malignant narcissism or narcissistic personality disorder, giving your life over to a psychopath, and doing it with trust and a firm belief in his authority. What if said psychopathic conman, was advising victims? It seems absurd, that an abuser would advise the abused. It seems even more absurd, that the abused would take the advice to heart. Yet it happened to me, till I got wise to it and learned more about this disorder, and its largely superficial resemblance to narcissistic personality disorder, or garden variety “narcissism”.

Psychopaths are known to be grandiose, to distort reality, to be contemptuous of human beings, and to be completely without conscience . To ask such a malignant narcissist for advice is to suffer life consequences. Are his words really full of “truth” and “insight” and “care” for the victims?

Recently, I came across the following exchange in part 40 of the psychopath’s “narcissism list”:

    Question

Why do his victims feel they are turning into narcissists themselves?

    Answer

Narcissism is contagious. The narcissism creates a “bubble universe”, similar to a cult. In this bubble, special rules apply.

These rules do not always correspond to outer reality.

Using complex defence mechanisms, such as projective identification, the narcissist forces his victims – spouse, mate, friend, colleague – to “play a role” assigned to him by “God” – the narcissist.

The narcissist rewards compliance with his script and punishes any deviation from it with severe abuse.

In other words, the narcissist CONDITIONS people around him using intimidation, positive and negative reinforcements and feedback, ambient abuse (“gaslighting”), covert, or controlling abuse, and overt, classical abuse.

Thus conditioned, the narcissist’s victims gradually come to assimilate the narcissist’s way of thinking (follies a-deux) [sic] and his modus operandi – his methods.

You can abandon the narcissist – but the narcissist never abandons you.

He is there, deep inside your traumatic memories, lurking, waiting to act out. You have been modified, very much like an alien snatching bodies.

    Analysis

Here is a perfect example of why it is dangerous to listen to the distorted, grandiose, psychopathic musings of a self-proclaimed “expert” on narcissism.

    1) He misinterprets the question. He doesn’t interpret it as fear and concern. He presumes that the victims have become like their tormentor. There is no ability even to relate to the question- without empathy*, he cannot see what the real question is.

    2) Narcissism is not contagious. Any lax behaviour may lead to disinhibiting behaviour in others, and that’s a valid psychological construct. If a narcissist sneezes, does that mean you’re gonna catch N germs? If you think about it, his statement isn’t even within the grasp of reality or logic. It’s nigh impossible to “catch” narcissism.

    3) Some pathologically disordered narcissists and psychopaths create a cult like atmosphere: in this “cult” there is pressure to conform after manipulating your reality. You may find yourself doing things you normally wouldn’t. Part of it is due to disinhibiting behaviour. The rest is due to groupthink (simplistically speaking) and brainwashing and subtle forms of intimidation which include guilt-making and shunning.

They are not “forcing” you into a role- they are enforcing the role they presume everyone plays. They are not capable of distinguishing between their delusions and a human being standing before them. Again, it is grandiose of a psychopath to think that they have the power to force you into a “role” and that it is a given that it is always successful.

4)There is no such animal as the “inverted narcissist”. The only ones who totally buy into the cult leader’s reality, and usually become his handmaidens and henchmen, are not inverted narcissists. They are just like the leader, only he is more adept at getting and keeping power than they are- kinda like ‘Dr Evil’ and ‘Mini-Me’. They are just ‘Mini-Me’s’ and their use of each other is reciprocal.

5)He misuses the term “folies a deux” (and misspells it), which is reserved in psychiatric diagnoses for a shared psychosis (very rare)- which means neither person is in touch with reality. From his distorted apprehension, this would mean that the victim becomes the pathological narcissist. If there’s any “projective identification” going on here it is the psychopath’s, who believes that everyone is really just like him; there is also massive grandiosity in that he believes he has the power to self-replicate by transforming others into carbon copies of himself and his world.

6)If you take a good look at the paragraphs you can see that they are only loosely associated. In terms of underlying logic, we are the ones filling in the gaps. It is all smoke and mirrors. There is only significance without substance in his facile claims.

    * cf. his definition of ’empathy’- “We are coached to feel guilt and pain when we inflict suffering on another person. Empathy is an attempt to avoid our own self-imposed agony by projecting it onto another.” S Vaknin

    Summary:

    1) The psychopath, incapable of empathy, doesn’t understand the question.

    2) He is convinced that everyone is just like him.

3)He is convinced that he has the godlike power to transform anyone.

    4) He is convinced that he has the godlike power to force anyone to do his bidding.

5)He is convinced that he has dominion over (and dominates) all things, including human beings.

    6) He is convinced that he is successful in all his ventures.

    Observations:

~~ As a detective he is useless: the evidence suggests to him that he can make anyone like he is-that he has the power; but in truth, he believes that everyone is like him and he seeks to enforce that delusion- he has no power but it is imperative to do whatever it takes to sustain the delusion. And so he brags to feed his narcissism.

~~ His thoughts, and offerings (including facts), are loosely associated and impressionistic, with no real substance or basis in reality. They depend far more on impression and impressing than on fact and logic. This suggests there is a true cognitive deficit in thinking, and the usual psychopathic agenda, embroidered throughout with histrionic morbidity.

    Conclusion:

a)The outcome of the psychopath’s grand delusions is that he confuses followers in a cult with narcissists, and survivors with narcissists.

b)If he does not understand the question, then he is incapable of an answer grounded in reality. Given his inability to understand, especially a “feeling” question, we need to take care to question a malignant narcissist’s credibility.

    c) To listen to and believe the ramblings of a psychopath is dangerous for victims/survivors. It is to invite the psychopathic unreality into our psyches and lives. A psychopathic world is a totalitarian world.

He has no perception of us as human beings. He believes we are all like him. He believes that we cannot be healed, and has even said so. He cannot understand the question. And, therefore, any answers he gives are inadequate, incompetent, fraudulent, and serve only his delusions and beliefs.

He is not capable of anything else. He is emotionally and cognitively handicapped. He is not capable of cogent or coherent thought or speech. (cf.Hervey Cleckley’s ‘Mask of Sanity’)

Anyone who, having been disoriented once, believes him, as he glibly throws some impressive concepts and ‘facts’ into the mix (they’ are also good at snow jobs- wouldn’t know parsimony in thought if they fell over it), becomes enthralled again to the totality of psychopathic distortion; they are misled and misdirected away from their inherent integrity and their strivings- their human uniqueness, and especially their very real suffering, deleted. He has no conception of humanity and no understanding of himself- he can only tell us what he wants himself to hear. Moreover, he enjoys pulling the wool over our eyes, this ‘duping delight’. This is not even a question of hatred towards him. He is a psychopath, a common conman, and he thinks and acts like one. Totally.

So. Question, challenge, be aware, and beware the con.
