Jonathan Alter whines incoherently about “papal infallibility” when he clearly doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about, but has the gall to accuse Santorum of going against “the tenets of his faith” because the Pope talked about Global Warming. What Alter ignorantly doesn’t know, or just plain ignores, is that not every statement by the Pope falls under the “infallibility” tenet. How could it? Official statements made under that premise are specifically labelled as such, but he purposely acts as if Catholics believe the Pope is a god who’s every utterance cannot be questioned. What a fool. I know this distinction and I’m not even Catholic!
Of course these same idiots will excoriate anyone who says what Muslims believe other than Muslims, because that’s racist or something.
