Sarah Palin slams Obama’s hypocrisy of wanting to save the lives of children but not the unborn

Sarah Palin wrote from her Facebook today on the issue of abortion considering it’s the anniversary of Roe vs Wade. And she takes Obama to task for making the protection of children central to his cause to enact tougher gun laws, yet he can’t even vote to protect the life a baby born alive from a botched abortion:

Forty years ago today the Supreme Court rendered its Roe v. Wade decision. Those who believe in the sanctity of human life and long to see America embrace a culture in which innocent life is honored and protected continue to look for a day when humanity is again deemed valuable, where we cherish even those who would be born in “less than ideal circumstances.” Children are our most precious resource and remain the greatest symbol of hope God has given us. This is just one reason why the annual March for Life has been such a powerful aspect of the pro-life movement. This year’s event is Friday, January 25th, and once again a multitude of Americans will gather in Washington, D.C. to show their support for precious little ones.

Our Founding Fathers declared: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” However, since 1973, millions of children have been denied the basic right upon which all the others hinge: the right to life.

Lately, President Obama has taken to boldly highlighting children in his speeches. Using kids as the backdrop for his gun control speech, the President claimed his commitment to young ones. “If there’s even one life that can be saved, then we’ve got an obligation to try,” he said. He then outlined why gutting our Second Amendment is the means by which he believes we accomplish this. Every law-abiding citizen’s heart is broken when children are the target of men hell-bent on committing acts of evil, and we agree that the safety and protection of innocent life is paramount.

The hypocrisy of it all, however, is that while the President publicly acknowledges the value of “even one life” when it advances his own political agenda, he fails to acknowledge as much when it comes to protecting the lives of children soon to be born. In that same speech, he proclaimed that “when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable among us, we must act now.” Well, who is more vulnerable than those who find themselves at the mercy of others to honor their existence and receive them into our world? Are these—the truly vulnerable—not worthy of the protection of which the President speaks? Why is it that their cause is never the subject of one of his lofty addresses to the nation? Has he ever even mentioned the March for Life that takes place in his own back yard and ought to be worthy of at least a scant mention? If indeed we have an obligation to save “even one life,” when will we hear our President rally Americans to stand alongside women who find themselves in these less than ideal circumstances to offer the support they need, to encourage parents to choose life, and to promote the option of adoption? Instead, he has committed himself to the most liberal of abortion agendas—so much so that as a Senator he couldn’t even bring himself to support the Born Alive Act that would save the lives of babies ALREADY BORN and needing medical aid. Further, he believes taxpayers should betray their consciences by paying for his abortion agenda. This same President has stated he didn’t want his daughters “punished with a baby,” and remarked that it was “above my pay grade” to answer a pastor’s question: “At what point does a baby get human rights?” Yet now we are to somehow believe that children are the priority in his current aggressive campaign against the Second Amendment?

The President continued to herald his support of children in yesterday’s inaugural speech. “Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit, to the hills of Appalachia, to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm,” he said—and I agree. Nor is our journey complete, I would add, until all our children soon to be born are also “cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm.” The President, of course, did not include this, as it does not line up with his worldview or his party’s platform. See, his commitment to our children is selective. When children in the womb are on the chopping block, the President is silent. When he places the Second Amendment, however, on the chopping block, children are his focus. Never mind the fact that his latest proposals would not protect them from evildoers and would, in fact, leave responsible, law-abiding citizens less able to protect them as well.

Clearly, there is no shortage of hypocrisy coming out of Washington, and this is just one example. Americans can expect to be inundated with rhetoric and doublespeak for the duration of this administration. It is truly Orwellian. So it is absolutely imperative that we keep our eyes and ears open; don’t allow yourselves to be sucked in or lulled to sleep. Our freedoms are being compromised, our common sense insulted, and our children exploited. We must be vigilant and engaged, and we must remain hopeful that a better day is coming.

              Elections are basically a popularity contest. Palin prooved to be unpopular with many voters due mainly to a shortfall in experience and debate prep. This go round Romney was unpopular with many Americans that feel he’s not in touch with the economic needs of the average American.

The birth certificate requests, the insistence that the President is a Muslim (he claims to be Christian), and the race baiting, are all turning the majority of American voters away from the Republican candidates.

                Democrats and Liberals like to say that the majority of the people voted obama back in. NOT TRUE! The majority of the people that “showed up at the poles” voted him in.

                Theres 300 million plus living in the USA, obama got 63000000 votes Romney got 60 million votes. Total votes = 123 million. The number of eligible voters is 283 million. That leaves 85 million that were either to lazy, too busy , or just didn’t give a damn, that didn’t vote. Do your math.

                To request a valid birth certificate is normal procedure, along with college records and tax returns. So far he has failed to produce squat. He has not been veted, so what gives with that? Trump would have wrote a check for 5,000,00.00 to obama’s choice of charities. Think how many people could have benefited! Why didn’t obama make him pay up? He’s a phoney thats why.

                He’s the only candidate that has ever run for President that hasn’t been veted. Oh I forgot he calls Chicago home, the city of crooked politicians and gangsters. His friends are peopls like Bill Ayers and Reverent Wright. That helps to explain it all. If your not aware of the meaning of “veted” and how important it is, look it up.

                He is a muslim , he admiied it at a news conference, and ‘race baiting?’ thats a joke right? He sends military weapons to his friends in Egypt. (muslim brotherhood) He gives orders to STAND DOWN while watching Americans being killed. Goes to Vegas and parties early the next morning? ( If I have spurred your curiosty, do some research, theres plenty more reasons to dislike obama.) You just have to wake up and pay attention.

                The republican party freed the slaves(Honest Abe)(civil war) remember? And another fact that has been conviently overlooked by the liberals is that the card carrying members of the KKK were democrats. There’s many other examples you can find and never have to get off your lazy ass, by googling them.

                Educate yourself before you spew any more of your self proclaimed, undocumented facts expecting every one out here is stupid and will never know the difference. You might even feel better knowing your facts are true. Then you can “honestly” tell uninformed people you know what you’re talking about and to go to hell.

                I,m not crazy about McCain or Romney, but I sure as hell have enough common sense to know a fraud when I see and hear one.

              Gov. Palin doesn’t quite do things that way. She’s more like the laws of Moses or something. What she writes or lays down in a speech is almost like The Law. It sticks. Boy does it stick. But in a toe-to-toe, she isn’t anywhere near as powerful as West.

                  So it would have been better to endorse Obama, who has publicly ridiculed the Bible, who “accidentally” admitted his Muslim faith (what Christian is thinking about his/her Muslim faith), who has held views that are unbiblical? So in that sense, as some put it, it was Mormon or Muslim: both worldviews endorse the Bible even though they contradict it. What’s your solution then? Vote third party? The First Past the Post voting system of the U.S. makes it so only two large-party candidates are viable options. Third parties hurt their own people by taking away votes from the larger party they most agree with and ensuring a win for the larger party they most disagree with. The biggest difference between Romney and Obama, thus, was that one wanted to use economic policies that can actually work…

            Her own party didn’t back her up. Let’s not forget that since Roe vs Wade, there have been 5 Republican presidents. What did they do to help women to see the light about the importance of their position in creation, and to provide assistance to those who would have wanted to keep their babies, and educating men and women to honor the sanctity of life? Nothing. What is the Republican party doing now to persuade women and to challenge Obama with the truth of the hyprocrisy of his inaugural message? Nothing.
            Sarah Palin does, and look how she will gain respect from millions who feel duped by previous ‘choice’ messages, and Planned Parenthood fraus abortion claims and the huge amount of money they received for no abortions performed. Planned Parenthood stole taxpayer money and no one arrested them. Yes, we want Republicans in power, but if they’re going to cop out for a One World government and a New World order, which will cause America to lose its sovereignty, who needs them either.??? It’s a Third party we need, and hopefully the Palins and Bachmans, West, and cruz and all the others who make so much sense and still retain moral fibre in their beings will form that Heritage party. We can pray, but when it comes down to it, we each have a responsibility to point out how we need to get back to living the way Christ taught us. We need to challenge people to tell us what is wrong with that. They won’t be able to. Ask them if America is better off today living in sin than it was when there was more morality dominating the scene. ‘nough said.

            • Bush 43 held very firm for Life. His only veto in 8 years was to prevent money being spent on fetal stem cell research. He stayed firm against enormous pressure and outright lying from Michael J. Fox and others. While Bush was flawed in many areas, his pro-life stance was firm.

                  Clara, I believe that every fetus or unborn child (whichever you see as kosher) deserves a chance. I also believe that a person has the right to choose their own opinion. We as ‘true Christians’ cannot and should not judge a person because of their choice but rather lead them to the path that we believe and follow.

                  Having said that, Bush and his wife can have whatever position they desire with pro choice vs. pro life. It is Congress that actually writes laws, not the President. Electing a President should be a decision based on how that person is going to protect you and I from the members of Congress pushing legislation through that is not what we want as tax payers and citizens. Keep in mind we also elect them as well. Most people now days don’t even realize that the President of The United States is NOT the most powerful position in this country! The President is absolutely nothing without the members of Congress.

                  If you’ve ever seen the movie “American President” at the moment towards the end where Michael Douglas is giving his enraged response to his opponent he says; “Now, this is an organization whose sole purpose is to defend the Bill of Rights, so it naturally begs the question: Why would a senator, his party’s most powerful spokesman and a candidate for President, choose to reject upholding the Constitution? If you can answer that question, folks, then you’re smarter than I am, because I didn’t understand it until a couple of minutes ago. America isn’t easy. America is advanced citizenship. You gotta want it bad, ’cause it’s gonna put up a fight. It’s gonna say “You want free speech? Let’s see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who’s standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country can’t just be a flag; the symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then, you can stand up and sing about the “land of the free”.

                I know I’d be in my kind of company. I have been paying attention. I don’t see a third party coming from them, though. Have they been talking about forming a third party? I think the members of the tea party would like to have someone lead them in a third party, because even the Republican party seems to be involved in some sort of backroom deal for a one world government and new world order, George H Bush was the first to talk about a new world order during his presidency. The Bilderberg club is into that. Bush was a member. You would be surprised to see some of the names you’d recognize that belong to that group. I think they began in 1954. Google “who are the presidents and prime ministers that are members of the Bilderberg group”, and google “What is the Bilderberg group?” It could help put a lot of events going on in the world in a new perspective for you.
                But I’m not against the tea party. And, I do pay attention. I wonder if the tea party knows about the Bilderberg. Apparently there is also the Illuminate, and who knows what else is going on in the backrooms of people with too much time on their hands.

    So beautifully written. If all women would put Christ in their hearts, there would be no abortions. Every effort should be made to save the lives of both mother and baby, at all times, when a difficulty occurs.
    I doubt there were 55 million difficulties since Roe vs Wade. One of the women did not have any idea there would be so many abortions, and did what sshe could to get public attention about what her intentions were. But no media would have her.

Let’s be honest and sensible about this issue. Selfishness plays an important role. Millions of women who have had abortions, have regretted it, and live with the memory of the abortion all their lives. Men also regret it, more than they are prepared to admit. It’s a very serious event. In the meantime, imagine YOU being the baby, in the safest place in the world—your mother’s womb. Some people are very callous about this topic. They can do like Obama and talk about protecting ‘even one child’, and say how cute that newborn is, but only because it made it through birth. A few days before, in a late term abortion, those same people couldn’t care less about that same child. The devil wins, and mocks God with it.
        What is in the hearts of people is what determines if the abortion mills will continue to make their blood money or not. Choose Life, with no regrets.

    While she believes in the principles of Conservatism we all believe in, she and her family actually live them in their homeland of Alaska.

He is using this to attack our 2nd amendment rights. Had I felt the same way in 1985 about guns as I do now, I may not have found myself in that situation. Now, as a 43 year old woman, I will use my 2nd amendment rights to defend myself and, if need be, the beautiful daughter I gave birth to as a 16 year old girl. Had I not believed in the value of INNOCENT life at that time, I would not have that beautiful daughter or her 7 year old son now. THAT would have been a truly selfish thing to have done. Either INNOCENT life is worth protecting, or it isn’t. You can’t have it both ways. There is nothing more innocent than an unborn child. I don’t believe in abortion. So I didn’t have one. If people don’t believe in guns…..Don’t have one. But just as it isn’t right for me to force my decisions about abortion on others, it isn’t right for others to force their opinions about guns on me. The 2nd amendment makes it legal to own a gun. Don’t take away my legal rights and then get mad when people disagree with the current laws on abortion.

      Upon her return to Alaska to resume her duties as Governor, Palin was plagued with one trumped up ethics charge after another which cost her staff dearly.

      Sarah Palin resigned because she recognized the cost that the frivolous ethics complaints were having on her state , and she saw how much of her staff’s time and her own time were forced to deal with those issues.

      That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.

      She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.
      Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $500,000 dollars in legal fees.

      Sarah Palin knew that for the sake of her state, her country, her family, and her political voice, it would be best if she stepped aside from the governorship.

      In an article Sarah Palin said:

      “I said, ‘Enough. Political adversaries and their political friends in the media will not destroy my State, my administration, nor my family. Enough.’ I knew if I didn’t play their game any longer, they could not win. I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane.”

      She promised to keep the frivolous anti-Palin law suits away from the Alaskan people and to be more effective on the stump ( supporting candidates , fundraising, etc)

      Sarah Palin was truthful on both accounts.

    They argue against the unborn because they assume the unborn aren’t human. They don’t argue for it, they just assume it. And the question ‘what is the unborn’ is the question that decides the debate. Science teaches us that life does begin at conception, and people who deny so mistake and misunderstand the nature of human growth.
    Science cannot tell us right and wrong. Science cannot tell you that you shouldn’t hit your neighbor just because you feel like it, don’t do that, just saying. What science can do is tell you what something is. But you need philosophy to answer the question “how should I treat that thing that I’m looking at right now?” There’s no essential difference between the person you are now and the embryo you once were that justifies killing you at that earlier stage. There’s only 4 differences: size, level of development, environment(where you’re located), and degree of dependency, and none of those justifies killing the unborn.
    1. Size: You were smaller as an embryo than you are today, but since when does body size determine value? Men are generally larger than women. We don’t think men deserve more rights than women simply because they tend to be bigger. We don’t think Shaquille O’Neal is somehow more human than all of us simply because he’s taller. So how could it stand that just because the unborn are so small at that stage that they can be killed?
    2. Level of development: You were less developed as an embryo than you are today, but since when does level of development determine whether you live or die? 2 year old girls are less developed than 14 year old girls. 2 year old girls do not have a functioning reproductive system yet. Does it follow that the 14 year old girl has a greater right to life or that we can kill the 2 year old simply because she’s not at the level of the 14 year old? Abortion advocates may ask something like “how can you call something that doesn’t have a functioning brain and isn’t self-aware a human being?” But if self-awareness and intelligence define us as human beings, then those who are more intelligent should have the right to exploit us who didn’t have too high a GPA in high school. It would also mean we’re all in a gigantic bell-curve. We start off with very little rights of personhood and very little self-consciousness, and we gradually gain personhood as we reach our physical and intellectual peaks, and then we gradually lose rights of personhood as we age. Is that your view? You’d say “no that’s an elitist view”, and rightly so, but why would you impose that on the unborn?
    3. Environment: Yes, you were in a different environment. You were in a different place. But since when does WHERE you are determine WHAT you are? You were in the womb, now you’re out. But when you go from one place to another, you change location, but a new person didn’t come into existence. If that’s true, how does a journey of 8 inches down the birth canal suddenly transform you from non-human, non-valuable thing we can kill, to valuable human being that we cant?
    4. Degree of Dependency: Sure you depended on your mother for survival, but since when does dependency on another human being mean we can kill you? Conjoined twins share each other’s bodily organs, and provided they aren’t a threat to each other, physicians do all they can to preserve the life of both. We don’t think that a child that requires breast-feeding to live can be killed simply because it can’t tolerate formula. Consider, there are people who depend on insulin, heart pacemakers, diabetes medication, etc. Does it follow that these people are less human than us, and we can kill them?

That aside, if you have a problem with the assertions of the statement, why don’t you critique them, if you can. The unborn are human, therefor should fall under the protection of the U.S. Constitution, which says, “nor shall any person be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law”. Consider this: Pretend I have a toddler in front of me. He’s two years old, his mother can’t afford to feed him anymore, should she have the right to kill him? You’d say “no of course not.” Well, why not? You’d say “well because he’s a human being.” So if the unborn are human like that toddler, should the unborn be killed in the name of economic hardship and who decides, any more than we’d kill a toddler for that reason? Pro-choice people say “oh but that’s different, the unborn aren’t human, the toddler is.” That’s the question! You’ve gotta answer the question “what is the unborn” before you can answer the question “can I kill the unborn”. If morally speaking, abortion is the same as cutting your hair or clipping a nail, have as many as you want. But if it takes the life of another without justification, that’s another matter altogether different. I’m pro-choice on women choosing their own religions, choosing their own careers, the cars they wish to drive and the pets they wish to own, I’m pro-choice on all those things. But some choices are wrong, like taking the lives of defenseless, innocent human beings simply because they’re in the way of something we want. That’s a choice a civil society that is supposedly dedicated to tolerance, diversity, and inclusiveness should not allow..

        • If I was a free woman living in a Constitutional Republic such as the U.S.A. of America, and I was raped or just used poor judgement on a hot date and I didn’t want the responsibility of raising a child I didn’t want, I would pop that little sucker out just as quick as a could.

          When does a fetus become a person? Now I just gonna make a wild guess that you know the answer to that. But just because you think you do and you choose to voice your opinion doesn’t make it a fact.

      • NO! Her choice was already made. Most abortions are performed as a means of birth control. An INNOCENT life has already started growing. And don’t give me any BS about rape or incest. First off, the majority of abortions performed are not done so because of rape or incest. Secondly, BEEN THERE, DONE THAT! I was 15 years old and all alone. Not even old enough to get a real job. But abortion was NEVER an option for me. I now have a 27 1/2 year old daughter and a 7 year old grandson. It wasn’t easy, but I did it. The choice every woman has is, Keep and raise my child, or give them to someone else who want’s a child and for whatever reason can’t have one!
        For MOST abortions, however, it is the selfish choice of the mother to end that innocent life because she couldn’t keep her pants on.

If he wants to protect our children he must first realize that giving states funding for extra officers of the law is more important than pork belly spending such as Solindra et al.     We have lost 55 million children to “safe, legal abortion” in the past 40 years. Google Demographic Winter and see what the world and our country are facing due to the killing of these precious lives. Europe is already in dire straits because of the failure to have children in sufficient quantities. The USA is not far behind. You cannot fool mother nature or our God given nature.   • I personally think abortion is wrong. However, I do not like to judge a woman unless I have walked in her shoes. Abortion is wrong. If you are just a few weeks to a month or 2 or a little more an abortion is still going to be hard but if you wait until this baby is almost to term, and can be born and live, then that is really wrong in my opinion. if it means the mother’s life that is different. but to terminate a life because it is inconvenient or to wait until the child is almost ready for birth and to kill it is absolute murder. I don’t know why at that point you wouldn’t give the child up for adoption. these women will have to live with themselves and answer to God. I am not going to engage in any bantering and more than likely won’t even come back to this site. If you can live with yourself for advocating late term abortions that are not threatening the mother’s life then you are definitely an individual with no conscience or consideration of any kind of human life.

    Palin is now upset that the Military is enforcing it’s rules on religious symbols being displayed at a chapel at a forward operating base in Afghanistan. Crosses and other Christian symbols were ordered removed, as is the regulation. The chapel is not intended to cater to a specific religious group. Would Ms. Palin be OK with Crescents or the Star of David being place on the door to the chapel?

  • And while I may agree with what was said, this is one of the major issues that voters disagree on and resulted in a very good man (Romney) not being elected this term. This isn’t a republican or democrat issue, this is a woman’s right to choice issue. For now, it is the law and until a court case comes along that sets a different precedent it is what it is. HOWEVER, it’s keeping women voters from voting for republicans — Democrats hammer that women’s rights are going to be taken by the Repub’s and they are believed.

    Is this the most important thing the country is facing today? I don’t believe it is — these types of issues need to be placed on the back burner for another day and more important issues need to rise to the top. The issues that are bringing this country to its’ knees should be the focus — what difference does it make if a woman has an abortion if she doesn’t have a job, home or money for food to feed that baby or even a gun (if she wanted) to protect it? If she had a job, home, food, etc. maybe her decision would be different.

    Our country is on its’ way to becoming a third world country — we need to start here. We need to get back to our constitution. We need someone who can tear apart the last twenty years of gov’t growth, control and power while maintaining a strong military. It’s our constitution that attracts people from all over the world to move to the USA. The freedoms offered in that simple document.

    We cannot send all the illegals back to their country — face it, it’s never going to happen. But, we can get those people on a path to citizenship that can help boost our economy, increase tax revenues and decrease gov’t dependency. Our priority should be those who have entered the country legally – but there should be a temporary status so that those here illegally can get gainful employment, pay taxes, learn English and go to school. Our country was founded on immigration — unless you’re an American Indian, that’s ultimately how you came to be here. So – make it work, but at the same time work on keeping additional immigrants from entering the country illegally.

    I’m a registered Democrat. I did not vote for President Obama. I raised my kids to be cautious about the company they keep (their friends) because those friends would reflect badly on them. President Obama’s friends are a true indication of the man. I didn’t like his friends, and I don’t like him. And yes, I called him President – it’s not because I respect him, it’s because he is the most important man in our country right now and people need to continually be reminded of it. People need to associate their dire economic conditions, the loss of their jobs, the decrease in their paycheck to this man, the most powerful man in the U.S.A. Keep calling him Obama and he’s just one of us — John Q. Public.

    I am not black, and I am not a racist either. As a matter of fact, I come from one of the most liberal states in the country – Maryland. I was fed up with the liberal tactics in that state, so I moved. Voting didn’t work — I voted with my education, others voted for their handouts. I headed to Florida — and still have a very hard time with President Obama winning the state. That’s not what my eyes or ears heard from this state, but that’s fodder for another day — the ideals here are more in line with what I believe. There’s no state tax here, I can get a permit to carry a gun, there are places I can go for affordable healthcare. If we survive the next four years and our vote does count in the next election, then all is good – stay where you are and enjoy your friends and family. If it’s looking like you won’t — MOVE. Move to a state more in line with what you believe and pray that the rights of the states won’t be trampled on and that the states themselves will stand strong in the fight against our federal government.

    And I’m no one special — just a mother, small business owner and citizen. But, as all of those things I hope the Republican party will listen to me when I ask them — let these types of issues go for now and FOCUS on bringing your party together before the 2014 election and work on the issues that matter to our country (budgets, national debt, housing, jobs and oil/gas) and not so much to those that matter to individuals.

  • And I see the hypocrisy of the other side who call themselves “pro-life” yet continually cut programs that feed, educate and care for prenatal health care, food, education and health care for young children and mothers. The caring seems to stop once the child is actually born. Many of the same people who profess to be pro-life also believe in the death penalty. They need to be careful before casting stones that their own glass house is in order.

  • The abortion rate in this country is up to over 100,000 per month, over 1.2 million a year, but no one want’s to talk about these numbers. Don’t take me the wrong way, the children and adults murdered in Newtown was a tragedy, but this country murders more unborn children everyday than were killed in Newtown. After reading as many reports as I can and paying close attention to the wording the police are hiding something in Newtown shootings. One report I saw today said that 100 round clips were “used” in the theater shooting and that they “found” 30 round clips in Newtown. This is just an event that anti gun people can use to support their agenda.

    Then on the other hand. These same people celebrate going out and killing babies unborn or kill them as they are born. Some even put the babies in a dark room and let them starve after birth. As long as it is under a Doc’s care it is not considered murder under their laws.
