Everything you need to know is in this quote:

“Based on Hyatt’s quote, the owners of Current TV didn’t want Glenn to purchase Current TV and put TheBlaze in millions of home across the country because they didn’t agree with his point of view. They must not feel the same way about Al Jazeera…”

Exactly.

Learn the lessons of history concerning Genocide in the twentieth century with powerful well made documentaries and one spectacular moving feature film that escaped the eye of the lame stream media, click for details.

GLENNBECK.COM – Late Wednesday, Brian Stelter with the New York Times broke the news that Al Jazeera would be acquiring progressive cable news network Current TV. Al Jazeera had been seeking entry into the U.S. market, and the deal will allow them to put their own programming on in place of Current on televisions across the country. But the Wall Street Journal has uncovered an interesting piece of information: Glenn Beck and TheBlaze TV tried to purchase the network and were rejected.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

Mr. Hyatt said they agreed to sell to Al Jazeera in part because “Al Jazeera was founded with the same goals we had for Current,” including “to give voice to those whose voices are not typically heard” and “to speak truth to power.” Other suitors who didn’t share Current’s ideology were rebuffed. Glenn Beck’s The Blaze approached Current about buying the channel last year, but was told that “the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view,” according to a person familiar with the negotiations.

Based on Hyatt’s quote, the owners of Current TV didn’t want Glenn to purchase Current TV and put TheBlaze in millions of home across the country because they didn’t agree with his point of view. They must not feel the same way about Al Jazeera, a news organization that ran an op-ed comparing Glenn to a terrorist.

Glenn has taken issue with Al Jazeera in the past, noting their connections to Islamic extremism and their anti-American leanings in their reporting.

Had TheBlaze successfully purchased Current TV, the current lineup of TheBlaze TV would have replaced the existing progressive programming in 59 million homes in the United States.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Time Warner Cable announced they would be dropping Al Jazeera America as a result of the change in ownership.

    Hot Hot Hot…

Glenn Beck and The Blaze is hot (pun is intended)… Al Gore and Current TV is not.

Gore may not be “hot”, but now he has enough money to resume terrorizing masseuses in hotel rooms after midnight. Both he and Slick Willie have always had the morals of sex-starved alley cats. Tipper busted Al’s chops while Shrillary has a whole different agenda when it comes to Slick Willie.

He needs to move to Saudi Arabia, it will control his alcoholism and feed his need for abusing women.

  • PatrickHenrysBody

Oh goody! Islamifascist propaganda media here in America. I can’t wait! The fact that Current TV refused Beck’s offer just reveals how they reflect the thinking and motivations of the “progressive” authoritarian globalists. It makes sense that Al Jazeera would reflect their “point of view” because why else would Current TV accept their offer? They both suck up to and support those who control, oppress, and enslave. They are on the side of those who steal freedom and liberty from those who seek such things. Pack of worthless b@$t@rd$ all.

A lot of people do not know that if Gore had carried his home state of Tennessee in 2000, the vote in Florida would have been irrelevant and he would’ve beaten Bush. The people of Tennessee have never questioned Gore’s intentions, because they are abundantly clear. What they do question is his sanity. Gore has been an anti-American babbling fool most of his life. I have always thought he would’ve been the worst president in our history…..until Obama.

      • cabensg

Couldn’t agree more. I do think we could have gotten Gore impeached however being as he is a white guy.

        • PatrickHenrysBody

The environmentalist kook fringe of the global authoritarians (including the environmentalist hypocrites in Hollyweird) would have made sure that Gore’s impeachment would have been blocked. After all, Gore is out to save the Earth from ourselves. Hail Captain Planet Gore! Gaia be praised!

    • bobemakk

I hope Current fails miserably just like Air America. Al Gore is a traitor to US. He is a drunken, money loving, tree hugger who is a hypocrite as well.

      • PatrickHenrysBody

If Current went the way of Airhead America, that would suit me fine. Gore is a disgraceful creature. He knows he is misleading the world with his ginned-up junk science fecal matter. Too bad the idiots in Congress agreed with him and passed that asinine light bulb legislation.

Why does this remind me a little of when Rush tried to buy the St. Louis Rams?

I’m not sure of what to say or think about this. It’s a private company so I guess they can sell to whomever they want to, but it’s pretty pathetic when a terrorist network “news” aligns more with their views than an American Citizen. It’s pretty freaking pitiful when a terrorist news organization can be so welcomed into a nation which has and is seeing our soldiers die fighting against these same groups who use Al Jazeera as a platform? I gotta wonder, how Americans would have felt if right after WW2 one of the News stations was sold to Nazi sympathizers rather than an American company?

Don’t know how this song really goes along with this story in particular, but as everything that’s been going on in just the past few months…. I had this song on my mind again tonight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsqIt0U36-4

    • NYGino

As usual, great post ABC. You start with Rush and end with Rush!

      “Screaming demons
      Dressed in Kingly guise

      Beating down the multitudes
      And scoffing at the wise”

Says a lot about those currently running (ruining?) our government.

BTW, Neil Peart……….one of the best.

      • http://twitter.com/hbcampbell Hunter Campbell

You are correct (NYGIno). Both Rush’s are lovers of freedom.

“You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
        I will choose a path that’s clear
        I will choose freewill”

        Thus endeth the lesson.

        • NYGino

I have to wonder… when I wrote that comment at about 2:30 this morning I had 2 likes by 3 when I finally made it to bed. Now 1 have 17 lol. Fess up y’all, you love Canadian bands don’t you!

But yeah, I’ve had that song on my mind a lot and Neil Peart is excellent. (Still like Phil Collins and John Bonham though!)

        Mornin’ NY!

        • NYGino

Top ‘O the Morning ABC. John Bonham!, musical, humorous, inventive and tons of energy. Collins, I’m a big fan of early Genesis. “Selling England by the Pound”, I’m on a desert island with only five albums that’s one of them.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I knew it! I don’t know many drummers who don’t love early Genesis stuff. Selling England by the Pound and Three Sides Live are 2 of my most favorite albums of all time. :-)
Speaking of Bonham, I remember a few years ago I was visiting a friend. Her husband was just finishing installing those huge speakers in his car- you know the ones that rattle every bolt off the car? Anyway, he was into hip hop crap or whatever it’s called and was testing out the speakers. I got my CD with Moby Dick out, told him- “Here, try this… but crank it up.” He put that in and he was converted on the spot lol. I’m kind’a surprised you didn’t hear it on your side it was so awesomely loud! :D

            • NYGino

HaHaHaHaHa!!! I never saw another drummer even pretend to be Ahab and try to chase that whale! You amaze me. There’s probably one in a thousand that have even heard of “Selling England by the Pound”. I’m pretty sure you’re a YES fan also.

              • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

                Oh YES!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKftiJS30Cs

I have to admit, I always loved drummers too- but me having to take organ lessons when I was a kid, I always focus too on keyboards ;-) So Tony Banks of course is one of my favorites, which is why I love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYRH2-dC3jg
from 3 sides live!! I listened to this so much trying (and almost succeeding!) getting the solo down I wore out that spot on the tape lol!

This is the most awesome ever. I SO wish I could have seen them live.

PS- and Cinema Show and Battle of Epping Forest !!! :-D

                • NYGino

“Dancing with the Moonlit Knight” (Romeo gets lucky)

I’ve seen Genesis and Yes in New York a couple of times. Oh! and ELP, backed by a FULL orchestra. Would have asked you to go with me but I didn’t have your number, and then again you were probably two years old.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

LOL, I still would have gone! :-D Sigh, they were one band I so would have loved to have seen. Maybe that’s why I love their live stuff so much. Listening right now to Firth of Fifth right now.
I did however see Pink Floyd ( won tickets off the radio!) and it was AWESOME! :-D
I’ve seen a lot of bands live but Genesis would make life complete.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

You’re such a romantic ;-) I’m going to listen to that one next. Boy it’s been a while since I’ve listened to these! I haven’t realized til now how much I missed these songs!

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

So what are the other 4 albums you’d have on that Island NY?

            • NYGino

              I knew that was coming!!!

“Dark Side of the Moon” Pink Floyd
              “Kind of Blue” Miles Davis
              Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony
“The Song Remains the Same” Led Zeppelin

Unless I think about it too much, then I’ll remember others I can’t do without.

              • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

lol. NY- when you get stranded, you’d better bring me with you too. I’ll add my 5 (although some would already be the same as yours) so we’ll have more:

3 Sides live (you can watch me play air keyboard!)
                Machine Head- Deep Purple
Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd
                Handel’s Messiah
                Quadrophinia- The Who

                How’s that?! :-D

                • NYGino

We’re filling in the juke box real nice but, shame on us, no Stevie Ray???

Edit: We’ve been way off topic here. Glad there’s no monitors around.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

OH you’re right!! Can’t go without a little wing and pride and joy!

As for off topic, I don’t care- this has been SO theraputic!!!!

(Listening to Dancing with the Moonlit Knight now! Could play some of this one too on the keyboard) Man, I just might have to drag the old Yamaha out of the closet later!!

I love talking to you NY! It doesn’t surprise me we have more in common than just common sense :-D

                • NYGino

                  “Romeo locks his basement flat
                  and hurries up the stairs
with head held high and floral tie
                  a weekend millionaire” :)

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

                  “Home from work our Juliet
                  Clears her morning meal
She dabs her skin with pretty smells
                  Concealing to appeal”

                  Now who’s the romantic? :-)

                • NYGino

“Cinema Show” I could just put that on repeat and go from there. Great interaction between keyboard and drums.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Keyboard and drums …. gee. Maybe we ought to start our own TRS band. :-) I’m SO out of practice…

I have a HUGE collection so 5 would be too few, would need to figure out how an iPod works so I could load up that small thing with lots of tunes….

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I was thinking of that one seriously Orangesis!! But like NY said, just 5 lol. It’s hard to pick!

                • Orangeone

Did you see my reply?  I’d have to figure out an iPod because 5 would never be enough….

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

lol yes I saw ;-) NY said we could only have 5. I had to narrow my choices down by about 7995, lol, but I do love and have always loved the Moody Blues. Ever since my brother gave me an album for Christmas when I was 5!

                • Orangeone

Nights in White Satin is one of the first songs I learned to play….that was a very, very long time ago :)  I actually just bought Moody Blues concert DVD….

Hey girl! I had them on 3-4 hours yesterday and still can’t get Cinema Show out of my head! Have to say it helps with my tinnitus though. It’s an addiction. We need a Genesis 12 step program!

              • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

lol. Sorry about the tinnitus NY. But yes, this would be a good therapy for just about anything. :-) Mornin’!

                • NYGino

ABC, I have a gift for you this morning. Have you ever heard U.K.? If not I would like to introduce them to you. A progressive rock group 1975 – 1978 with members of King Crimson (love that group) and Yes, John Wetton and another unbelievable drummer, Bill Bruford.

Look them up and You Tube…U.K. Nevermore. Nevermore is about an 8 minute piece and at the 3 minute mark put your seat belt on and get ready for a trip.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I like King Crimson, and of course Yes, so I’ll go look right now! :-D Hang on. I’ll be back in 8 minutes lol.

I’m back! That was different. I like it. I hear a blend of both groups in there. I’ll have to listen to it some more to get the true feel of it.

I have to say though my ex was a guitar player so I tend to like stuff now with more drums and keyboard lol. :-D
                  Thanks for the share NY!

Maybe I’m just kind of in this kind of mood right now (Crank it UP!) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtEAp-Rybl0
                  LOVE IT!!!

Have a Blessed day NY. I hope I see you again sometime today.

                • NYGino

Hey ABC! Couldn’t say Hi till just now, and then only for a quick peek. Just looked at Whittles thoughts and ran across your and Biker Hoop’s lessons, great, but as you can see I need more practice.

I’ve never claimed to be anything but semi-computer illiterate so I’m not going to feel embarrassed to say I don’t know how to install an avatar. If I did I might.

So Enema, and what is YOUR opinion on women’s rights in the Middle East? And what do you think of Obozo’s attempts to promote the Muslim Brotherhood? You figure Al Jazeera will do some real journalism on beheadings and clitorectomies and stoning events and show them on Al Gore’s wildly successful Current TV?

Or is Al Jazeera going to pretend all those don’t exist? Your president sure pretends that Islam is a wonderful “religion”! Have YOU figured it out yet, Enema?

        Good morning, American. :)
Was wondering something, when a troll is banned, do you know if they continue to receive notifications of responses in the inbox? Thanks.

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I’m not sure badbad. I imagine their comment if it’s still up would have at least the replies notification before they were banned, so they’d have to wonder how many more replies they got after they were booted and come back for a peek.
Makes it even more fun to think they can’t reply back though lol.
          Mornin’! :-D

        Apparently.

    • PatrickHenrysBody

Yes, lefties are exempt from any laws that apply to those who are not them at birth…or so they’re told.

    • syvyn11

Yes he can. We still have the right to sell to who we want. For now.

Besides, I don’t think Glenn really thought that his offer would be taken seriously. It would be easier to form a new cable channel than spend the millions to reformat Current.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/44F4AB4VSCTOCHBMBG4ZWWD5OU Laurel

Actually no you don’t. Try not selling or renting your house to someone you don’t like for whatever reason. You can reject the offer but it has to be with good reason like too low. Al Gore flat out said he rejected GB due to politics.

        • syvyn11

If you refuse to sell based on race or other discrimination. Business practices are still fair game.

Besides, the only color I care about is GREEN! If you have the green, I’ll sell. If not, pound sand.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/44F4AB4VSCTOCHBMBG4ZWWD5OU Laurel

I care about that as well but apparently the left doesn’t. Nothing will be done though unless GB himself pursues it and i doubt that he will. And you can’t discriminate for any reason, not just race.

            • syvyn11

Right, but if you don’t have the money honey, you can’t ride.

That only works for race, color, creed, or national origin — not political viewpoint. But I dare anyone to try it selling their house.

      • Orangeone

But it does for religion and Beck is openly Christian.

  • 3seven77

Al Jazeera is “seeking” entry into US markets?? That’s news to me. Our local PBS channel carries Al Jazeera news right now.

And don’t you just love these losers using the old, trite phrase “speaking truth to power”? If they were actually doing that they’d be selling their channel to **any** conservative that offered.

As has been pointed out by those who speak Arabic, al Jazeera is nothing else but the modern-day version of providing taqqiya to the ‘unbelievers’. What they say to their western public is radically different to what they say to their arabic public.

But hey – anything to deceive and to destroy the West is fine with Algore, as his AGW scam fully illustrates.

So far, nobody is as yet forced to watch this cable channel, so boycott it.

    • syvyn11

Not going to boycott it. I’m just going to ignore it.

      • http://tinyurl.com/wwsotu Wolfie

I’ve successfully ignored it all along and will continue to do so. Had Beck bought it, I would have been willing to watch it. But no.

    • aposematic

My boycott started over three years ago; still going strong.

  • Joe

Yes, Liberals, Socialists, Communists, Al Gore and Keith Obermann and Al Jazeera. Sounds like a perfect collection of traitors. Glenn Beck is one of the greatest champions of the Constitution and Christianity in America, which is the reason why anti-America, anti-God Liberals can’t stand him. Here’s some more bad news Socialists;Glenn Beck is amazingly successful and will only become more influential among patriots. Liberals will just have to get used it.

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

Well, I don’t really know why Glenn would want a channel nobody watches. Current TV has such a terrible reputation that it’s going to cost millions to re-invent itself. I don’t know if Glenn has that kind of money. Al Jazeera, though, already has a following of millions of people around the world, so it won’t be that hard for them to find out that Current is now owned by Al Jazeera. So in one way I’m glad Glenn did not buy it, because financially it could have been a huge money loser for him. If Glenn really wants to break into cable TV, I’m sure there are other channels out there for sale. After all, at the rate its going, I’m not sure CNN is going to be around much longer!

    • dontdrinkthecoolaid

Glenn has the largest subscription TV services, bigger than Oprah’s OWN, book publishing, clothing lines, the radio show and a channel on the DISH network. Glenn has the money, he’s self funded and does not need to show shareholders a dividend. So as long as everyone under Beck gets paid, all the other money goes back into the business. No doubt, Current went for a “song” by industry standards. At this point Beck has enough programming to place on his own cable channel.

  • unclesamnephew

we can’t have Beck holding a monopoly of the media, didn’t you know?

And what’s sad, a lot of the younger people look to Al Jazeera English as a legit source of news, much like they do RT and Press TV, Russia’s and Iran’s English networks. I should be noted, that Al Jazeera and Press are straight up Taquiya in English.

  • NCHokie02

    what’s current tv?

(j/k i know what it is but have only seen it in the channel guide as I scroll past it.)

    • tinlizzieowner

      It’s a little like ‘Progressive’ Insurance’. ;-) ;-)
Google ‘Peter Lewis’ (the head of Progressive Insurance) and you’ll see what I mean.

Those ads are sickening too. I hate them, the company and would rather have no insurance if they were the only insurers.

        • tinlizzieowner

You know what GEICO stands for, right? The Government Employees Insurance COmpany. They are a publically traded company now but they got started off the taxpayers back insuring ‘only’ government employees.
Peter Lewis, the head of ‘Progressive’, is second only to George Soros in his support for liberal causes. So, any conservative buying insurance from ‘Flo’ or the Lizzard, are cutting their own throats.

Aussie accent, just for the record. ;-)
With my background in TV/Journalism, I’ll be the first to say that these are very effective and clever commercials. Progressive has worn ‘Flo’ out. It’s time for that chick to go get a real job (like hooking on a street corner) and the ad agency knows it. That’s why you’re seeing things like the ‘Witch in a broom factory’ commercials. Also Very clever and effective, I wouldn’t mind working for that (ad) outfit.

Mr. Hyatt said they agreed to sell to Al Jazeera in part because “Al Jazeera was founded with the same goals we had for Current,” including “to give voice to those whose voices are not typically heard” and “to speak truth to power.”

  • Nukeman60

It does not shock me that Current TV and Al Jazeera have common goals. They are both wacko, far-from-mainstream media centers. What does shock me, however, is that Current TV is seen in 59 million households. Is that kinda like most households have a toilet in them?

Al Jazeera and Al Gore will be a perfect combination. Global Warming meets global jihad – what better way to spread the liberal message. They can support gay marriage and immediately behead them as soon as they come out of the closet. What could go wrong?

    • Conniption Fitz

The plan is to behead you if you don’t believe in the liberal falsified science propaganda of ‘global warming’. Seriously. One US professor has already recommended the death sentence for anyone who fails to believe in this stupid propaganda.

I tried to leave a comment but I guess what I said didn’t show the proper repertoire.

I watch by airplaying the content onto my big screen after I have taken care of the family responsibilities earlier in the evening.

Beck’s Christmas special was awesome. While I often think he has too much going on at once, I do like his overall message that this country can only turn on strong communities, not some representative in Congress or a President.

I pray that they fail. Glenn Beck deserves the most exposure on the media. We will never know why he lost his spot on Fox, no truth found anywhere on the net when he left.

Didn’t he say he was the one that left? That he felt restricted and wanted to have more control of content? I wish he’d stayed!

  • NJK

Jihad is fine and dandy with the left. They’re in bed with them.

  • Orangeone

Maybe I am reaching but Beck might be able to sue based on discrimination of religion to block the sale. Now that would be interesting to watch!

Yes, we have Time Warner Cable, and yesterday, I got a Breaking News tweet that said TWC is dropping Current TV over this purchase by Al jazeera. I was very glad (and surprised) to see that.

    • tinlizzieowner

They were quick to add that it had to do with the ‘profitability’ (ratings) of the channel rather than the ‘ideology’. ;-) ;-)
Can’t insult a Muslim, we know how that turns out.

  • Orangeone

Funny, just saw a tweet that says it all. Gore so opposed the Bush tax breaks that he rammed the sale through before cap gains taxes increased to 20% in “fiscal cliff” bill and even higher under ObamaCare.

    • tinlizzieowner

That’s what he had in mind but he couldn’t get it done in time. You notice this situational hypocrite doesn’t seem to mind accepting a bunch of Dubai ‘oil money’ he used to be so against, when Bush was President.
      ;-) ;-)

      • Orangeone

He’s accepting everything he claimed he was against.  Just look at his mansions while spewing carbon footprint.

        • tinlizzieowner

He’s a ‘Situational Hypocrite’. What he says isn’t what he does, just like the rest of them.

  • UnCL3

Al Gore is such a douchebag…what a POS…can you imagine if he’d won in 2000 and his response to 9/11?

    • tinlizzieowner

If he had even been able to carry his home state of Tennessee, he might have. ;-)

  • davienne

i heard before i went to town that cable co. and satalite was pulling the channel, since jazeera bought it

I know Mark Levin has had problems with Glenn Beck in the past, and Glenn’s unwavering support of Romney (I assumed based on religion) pissed me off, but he IS doing exactly what Bill Whittle is talking about…attacking this liberal problem by going after our country’s culture. Stop arguing in debates every 4 years and start making motion pictures and television shows that are conservative at their core. That doesn’t mean every show has to be about the founding fathers, either.

There have been plenty of comedies, dramas, and every else in the past that are basically conservative in their message….even if liberals ran them and snuck in some lefty crap here and there. Happy Days, Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Disney’s sunday movie night… on and on. Yes, these are all “old fashioned” because anyone with a conservative bent has pretty much abandoned making anything new!

We need to FLOOD the culture with programs that are fun to watch and make us feel good about America. Books, movies, tv…it can be done. I applaud Glenn for making the attempt.

“There have been plenty of comedies, dramas, and every else in the past that are basically conservative in their message.”

      You mean like this?

  • Biggbear52

How’s this for a confession that you are a full blown advocate for terrorist interests> Good one Allie McDipwad!

Well, good for Time Warner, at least!!

  • Godisright

Oh joy, now we will be able to watch live beheadings in HD.
Unfortunately, Glen was not able to offer that option.

Al Gores eyes look as though they are being swallowed up by is ever increasing facial fat.
    Just an observation.

Algore’s new nickname is now officially changed to Al Jazeera Gore. He may hate oil but he looooooves him some petrodollars.

  • bobemakk

Al Gore is a traitor to his own country, it proves the old adage, “money talks and BS walks…..” I hope Al Jazeera fails.
