According to CNS News, Sheila Jackson-Lee wants to rename ‘welfare’ to ‘transitional living fund’:
In a brief speech on the House floor Wednesday, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) hailed the war on poverty, endorsed government welfare programs, and said the “safety net has to be something for all of us.”
“Maybe the word welfare should be changed to something of, ‘a transitional living fund.’ For that is what it is — for people to be able to live,” she said.
If it was truly transitional, then she might have half a point. But we all know people are supposed to transition TO the government dole and remain there so Democrats have a more controllable voter base. That’s where the ‘living fund’ part comes in. They want people to be able to live off the government dole because if they can do that, they’ll be no need for them to depend on themselves and work for a living. This name change from ‘welfare’ to ‘transitional living fund’ is about killing any remaining negative stigma this program has so people won’t be ashamed to stay on it.
Democrats don’t want people to be truly free and self sustaining, they want power over your life in order to control you and get your vote. And they’ll bribe you in any way they can, whether it be health care, welfare, daycare assistance, etc.
