Hey, it all falls under the heading of "free stuff" for people like Sheila Jackson Lee and her minions. But they never seem to say who will pay for all this "free stuff." Oh, I know, it's those "evil rich people." THEY are the ones that need to be hanged from the nearest lamp post, right Sheila? Problem is, when you run out of rich people and run out of spending other people's money, you're broke, like we almost are right now. You end up like Greece and all those other bankrupt European social-welfare states. But Sheila says there's no problem with either Social Security and Medicare. My mother is in a nursing home, and the state pays $4k per month for her to be there. She is on medicaid, and social security. They take her SS check and let her keep $150 per month. Not all of her medications are covered, so I pick up the bill for the rest. I just spent $400 making up for an accounting error so that she could keep getting them from the pharmacy. I pay for anything else that she needs.
I know that the state doesn't cover the whole bill, and that federal funds must cover a lot of it. I also know that there are many thousands of people in the same boat. Prior to going to the home, she lived with me for a couple of years. I ran her meds, bought her groceries for her, and whatever else was required. When she became physically unable to move around, my brother got her in the system, and the nursing home.
My brother lives on SS disability. My father does as well. My grandmother has a federal pension and insurance from the BLM. My sister served in Iraq and Egypt before becoming a federal prison guard, then was forced to retire due to epilepsy. Now she is on an early retirement disability situation.
I say all of this to emphasize how bad off many people are, and if this is just my family, I can't imagine the scope of people involved and dependent on the social systems.
Since we have had these systems for so long, our society has adjusted socially, and is now not capable of supporting themselves. When the systems fail, and they will, there will be civil unrest, pain and suffering, starvation and disease like nobody has ever witnessed in America. The great depression and the dust bowl had nothing on the coming crisis.
My mother is schizophrenic and is dependent on drugs. My brother and sister are both epileptics. My grandmother is 85 years old, and my father cannot physically stand for very long. My mother is 300lbs and wheelchair bound.
Who is going to take care of them all?
I do not know what will happen if things get bad, or benefits get cut. I believe that I will take on the brunt of supporting whoever is the worst off. I can say this much, I will have to give up all of my personal aspirations and take care of family. I don't even know how possible it will be.
With all of this said, I still support getting rid of the social systems. They are a death nail no matter how you slice it, and all of the easy times that we have had will be balanced by a really bad times, because the easy times were a fraud, and the penalty must be paid. This I know, and have accepted.

Thanks much. It would be nice if I had more help. Many people today are pretty self absorbed and don't prioritize family. That is going to have to change as we go into austerity mode, and Obama Care goes into full effect.

At least I expect it. I am trying to enjoy my personal freedom while I have it. I certainly hope that I will have more help later than I do now. People are going to have to pull together. God will bless the whole thing, because we are listening and preparing. I am putting up a whole lot more food than I would need, even though the ones that I will have to support refuse to now.
Maybe it is my way of providing when I have no one else to provide for. God made me a provider, so I don't deny the impulse.

This is one of the most intellectually honest arguments that I have ever heard. I was very impressed. It speaks to the subject of female protectionism and feminism in our culture. She doesn't argue from a spiritual perspective, but makes some excellent points about human nature.

Well, the 18th Congressional District is not known as the Rhodes Scholar area of Houston. If it was not for the entitlements the Crown Weaved Princess keeps promising these people, she would have never been re-elected. She is a total embarrassment to the great state of Texas, and the Houston area. I sincerely believe she is not mentally stable, and should leave office. She is so well known for her completely off the wall, ridiculous remarks in front of Congress. Who, in their right mind would believe anything she says?
When I vote for someone to represent me, I try to make sure that person is smarter than me. What does this say about her district?
Unfortunately, when her district votes, they vote for the candidate that promises them the most free stuff... a bag of rocks could get elected as long as it had a "D" after it's name and promised free stuff.
