So we’re going over the fiscal cliff

I saw on Special Report that the House has adjourned until tomorrow without passing a deal, which means we’re all going over the fiscal cliff tonight. I’m a little surprised because I just knew they’d figure out some weaselly deal to raise our taxes. Ah well, they’ll probably just do a weaselly deal tomorrow. Not getting my hopes up too much.

P.S. Sorry I’ve been away from blogging today. I was out buying myself a little something:

Yeah it’s all mine. Happy New Year to me!

And to you!

    Nice ride.

  • Alborn

    Nice. Enjoy.

  • VERY NICE!!!!! I sure hope your experience with Chrysler products is better than mine (and my dad’s…and my mom’s…and my brother’s…)! But man…very very nice!

    • lol Brian!

    • white531

Okay Brian, you left yourself wide open for this one. Your dad had a bad experience, your mom had a bad experience, your brother had a bad experience, so you went out and bought one, too?

Isn’t that like the definition of insanity? (doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.) 🙂

      • Absolutely!!! LOL! And they all warned me…but I did it anyways! And to make matters worse…my brother bought his AFTER the paint had already completely fallen off of my 2005 Chrysler Sebring Limited Edition!

What can I say…we always learn from our own mistakes…

        • white531

Lol! Then why did we elect Obama, not once, but twice?

          • I meant “WE”, as in me and my family members! LOL! Can’t speak for the rest of political brainiacs in America! LOL!

  • 3seven77

In yet another sign of the coming Apocalypse: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting. It’s supposed to be a baby. But I think it’s just another publicity stunt for $$$.

Poor kid. With those two for parents what chance does it have to be normal?

  • Dang, nice wheels Scoop! Happy Blessed New Year!

  • deeme

I’ve never seen such a dereliction of duty in all my life.. no budget going on two terms..How is it possible someone so incapable can be elected twice..??? How exactly are businesses suppose to figure out payroll with so many unknowns..???

    • aPLWBinAK

“How exactly are businesses suppose to figure out payroll with so many unknowns..???”…..they’re not….sending us over the fecal cliff has been Obama’s wet dream all along. He hates this country, and promised to ‘fundmentally change’ it (and he is)…not enough of us were listening.

      • deeme

I hear you..and know he wants this to happen, but he also wants all of U.S. to give him money to play with as he pleases..I was listening so much that I made a New Years resolution to stop listening..I was hoping for the last four years to change minds..but I don’t have the stomach to go to the places I need to go to even hope to reach one of the insane people who voted for this..I never keep my resolutions but I am putting more into the people I love and less into the things I can not control..I was online almost every day of his last term , I was really one of those who thought no one was that idiotic to vote for this again..especially after Libya…Thank God for places like this where you can come talk to the last of people of reason..Happy New Year…

  • sybilll

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I love the new car smell of success and capitalism. Congrats Scoop!

  • Stroker07

Nice car! How many amp hours do you get per mile? Oh, wait, you mean to tell me it isn’t an electric drive?????How unpatriotic of you. Seriously though, you should have went with a Ford…hehehe

  • neko_dachi

I’m a little surprised because I just new they’d figure out some weaselly deal to raise our taxes.

Sorry to be this guy, but I think you mean “knew.”

    • RighteousCrow_JustCaws

Not “knew”…’new’ as in new car!

  • bjohnson55

Lets all agree that we all are going to work like heck to make sure that Obama and his Marxist minions own this.

  • bjohnson55

Nice “Merican” made car, to bad the company is owned by Italians.

  • white531

Nice car, Scoop. Nice color, too. We used to call that, “gunmetal grey.” Be glad you got it now. That color is soon to be banned.

  • armyvet10

First, congratulations on the car. For most men, myself included, there are few scents more alluring to a man than new car smell. In fact there have been jokes written on the subject.

On the subject of the fiscal cliff, well it would seem that our politicians feel they have earned the right to go party and drink and make merry while most of America takes a dive head first into the empty pool that was our economy. If karma truly exists, then the hangover they experience will only be second to the shame they should feel for being complete failures to this country and its citizens. May their new year find them staring justice in the eyes.

To the rest of the hardworking Americans that may be reading along, god bless you, your families and the United States of America. Keep our men and women in uniform, in your prayers.

    • God Bless you armyvet10 and hope you have a wonderful Blessed New Year.

      • armyvet10

God bless you as well. I am going to stay up and toast the new year as it arrives. Then, alas, I will prepare for ways to tighten the budget belt until I and my family find out what to expect with all the coming uncertainty in new bills I and other Americans will have to pay this year. Have a safe and Happy New Year.

        • I’ll be up, and most likely here as I always am lol. I’ll raise a glass of diet Dr. Pepper to you then my armyvetfriend. 🙂

        • white531

As for me, I’m willing to make any sacrifice necessary, to ensure that our Senators get their raise. 🙂

  • bartman44

Watching Obama’s publicized blame-a-thon today really disgusted me. Why didn’t he just stand behind his adoring attendees representing the middle class since he’s using them as a political shield anyway? Obama is an ideologue that on occasion says just enough to fool the ignorant, but his actions are always socialist.

    • snowshooze

I’m sorry, I just can’t stand to watch him anymore.
      Hey, did he blame Bush?

  • mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm! Now that’s a fly ride, Scoop.

  • conservative58

    Good for you Scoop!!!
    Congrats on the new ride!

    Enjoy! 🙂

  • It’s good to buy yourself a little “something” scoop. Even a big “something’. Something is always good.

    Edit: Oh, that something.

    • 🙂 Happy Blessed New Year librtifriend!!

      • You too ducky. I am tired. Don’t know that I will make it till midnight. How you holding up?

        • I’m here and on facebook, and doing research for the work to be done this coming year lol. Same as always. I’ll be workin’ til a few hours into 2013 I imagine. Have a Blessed rest of the night- and if you fall asleep a little early, sweet dreams! 😀

  • DCGere

    Awesome (your car that is)!

Let’s go over the cliff…these bozos can’t fix anything anyway. Let. It. Burn.

    • I picked up 85 more pounds of dry goods to store tonight. That is how much confidence I have in these traitors.

      • DCGere

Hope you got some “dry powder” stored up too 🙂

  • clockwindingdown

I posted this in the open thread too.

Interesting read and if any is true, well then… It does echo subjects that many here have discussed and may be thinking the same…

    Sorry if anyone gets upset:

    • it is all what I have been expecting anyway. Some others that I listen to are saying the same things. One is even predicting a major financial issue by this spring. The info is good, even if it is not a genuine source.

    • white531

clockwindingdown, with your permission, I would like to re-post this with a comment. I will give you recognition for the original post. I believe this is important.

      • clockwindingdown

The recognition as is the link goes to I’m sure they would like it passed around.

  • white531

Regarding the fiscal cliff, I believe we are all spending our New Year’s Eve, speaking to the choir.

Each and every one of us has a family budget to balance. Those who own businesses, get to do it twice. But we balance our budgets and even manage to pay our taxes on time. We do this year in and year out. Because first, it is our civic duty, and second, there are penalties to pay if we don’t.

Evidently Congress has no such sense of duty, nor do they face penalties for not doing their job. This country has not had a budget in over three years now. We are financing the government’s operation with, “continuing resolutions.”

On May 16th, 2012, less than a month after our 3rd year without a passed budget, Democrats voted down FOUR Republican budget proposals, without even proposing an alternative.

Here are some fun facts from another site, about the last time the Senate passed a budget:

-The last time the Democrats passed a budget, Sarah Palin was governor of Alaska.

-Since Senate Dems last passed a budget, Facebook has grown from about 200 million users to 900 million users.

-Last time the Senate Democrats passed a budget, the only people “occupying” Wall Street, worked there.

-The last time the Dems passed a budget, the Space Shuttle still had 11 missions to go before retiring.

-Last time the Senate Democrats passed a budget, “ObamaCare” wasn’t a household word.

-When the Senate Dems last passed a budget, Elena Kagan had never served as a judge.

-Last time Dems passed a budget, Robert Byrd was still alive.

-Last time the Democrats passed a budget there was no such thing as an iPad.

-The last time the Democrats passed a budget, Kate Middleton was a commoner.

-The last time the Democrats passed a budget, we were paying $1.83 for a gallon of gas.

Okay, enough fun. Hope you enjoyed the humor. But it was humor, based on fact.

To have to suffer and endure the insult of paying our leaders in Washington substantial salaries they don’t really earn, and all the perks that go with it, then find out that as of midnight tonight, New Year’s Eve, they just voted themselves yet another raise, and probably other benefits we will find out about later, is unbelievable.

You and I would be fired, if we failed to do our job for a week. The Senate has failed to do its job for well over three years now. April 29th, 2013 will be four.

I find it somewhat revealing, that at the stroke of midnight, our country goes over the fiscal cliff, financially speaking, and also at the stroke of midnight, the people who allowed that to happen, get a substantial raise.

Only in Washington, could such an unreality occur, and not one Journalist raises an eyebrow. Welcome to Obama’s world.

    • PatrickHenrysBody

I have an idea for the Republicants. If the “rich” are to be taxed, include something in proposed legislation that will drop the capital gains tax rate to zero (not to Zero, actual “0”). How about that? Oh, what’s that you say authoritarian crooks in Congress? Not gonna happen? I thought so. Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off a cliff we go.

      • white531

    • clockwindingdown

Excellent post. My New Years wish is for all tax payers to cease funding the federal government until our elected officials (and their assistants) pay their back taxes with penalties in full, and pass a budget.

I have not a clue why they need our earnings, they are printing money. They create money with nothing to support it, why do they need ours… Is it because the credit they borrow against is ours not theirs?

  • tinlizzieowner

Beautiful car! Wonder how many of them will be around 86 years from now, (like my Model T). 😉 😉
Not that it matters much. We conservatives will probably all be living in caves and foraging for food by then, if the Obama ‘machine’ has it’s way. 🙁

    • white531

One thing that is missing on Scoop is the ability to put up pics. Wish they would fix that. Like to see some pics of TinLizzie. The car, I mean. 😉

      • tinlizzieowner

Wolfie did something where I could post a picture of her here and I did a couple times but then he changed e-mail addresses and I lost the link, in the process. 🙁 🙁
Oh well, time to leave for work Ya’ll. Talk to ya next year. 😉 😉

  • tshtsh

    Nice lines.

  • Amberson
  • RKflorida

I am so out of touch. What kind of car is it?

    • white531

It’s a Dodge Charger, rk. One of the current, “muscle cars.” They are beautiful to look at, and quiet, and fast.

But not as fast as my 1980 500SL. Some things never change. Still, I might consider a trade. Naahh, just kidding. 🙂

      • RKflorida

So that’s a good thing and I should congratulate RS? OK. Contrats RS!!

I would NOT trade a Mercedes for a Dodge of any year. More to the point, I wouldn’t trade my 10 year old Lexus for a new Dodge.

        • white531

It’s New Years Eve, rk. We’re just having fun here. Try to get used to our humor, and the way we blend it with political satire. We are both serious, and yet not serious, at the same time. TRS is a unique site. If you stay here long enough, you will understand that.

Even the Liberal trolls like this site. It is the only place on the internet where they can go to find intelligent conversation.

          • RKflorida

I was kidding, and I’ve been up here for quite a while. Sorry it didn’t come off right.

            • white531

              No worries.

  • Congrats on the new car Scoop. Definitely earned it. If I ever win the lotto, you get an SRT version so you can enjoy the torque monster those engines are.

About the fiscal cliff…..there isn’t going to be a solution, and we all pretty much know it. It’s not meant to be resolved, just meant to create a stunt for the POTUS to assume more power.—-IMO

    • white531

You’re right about one thing, Stewie. There won’t be a solution. But there will be a continuing RESolution. Obama will keep spending money we don’t have, and in that process, eventually bankrupt this nation.

What am I saying? We’re already bankrupt.

  • Sober_Thinking

    Nice wheels! 🙂

  • HSmith

I’m so sick of all the hype about the fiscal cliff I could puke. I’ve paid taxes since I was 14 and working in a bakery. I’m 66 now and still paying taxes. It doesn’t matter, I’ll be paying taxes until I die. All this means to me is that I’ll be paying more in taxes starting tomorrow. At least I know enough to blame the Democrats for all the crap taxes I’ve had to pay over the years. Sorry for the rant, I’m just pissed.

    • white531

Stay with us. I would like to hear more from you.

  • hongryhawg

    Fiscal, shmiscal! Here we goooooooooo………

  • capelady

Congrats on the new wheels… nice!

  • ApplePie101

The new year is already here, with no deal. Technically, we’re already over the cliff. Unless the bill is ‘deemed’ as passed in the house, it’s going to face opposition from conservatives, especially since it originated in the senate. One thing should be blazingly clear: Boehner is a leadership failure. The vote for speaker comes up soon, and I hope the house ditches him, because they’ll never rise above this loser as long as he remains at their head.

  • MeanGreenBeret

    Nice hot rod.

    Wanna race?

One word of advice.Don’t go near any fiscal cliffs or ditches with that bad boy.

    Congratulations on the new ride.

Hey,where’s our new cars? Aren’t you supposed to share the wealth?

Never mind I must be confused.
In all the blur of a little too much Tequila I thought I was at the Oprah show.

    Happy New Year!

  • ryanomaniac

I have a Toyota Corolla S that’ll stomp a mud hole in that thing. As long as your car is in a mud hole. 😉

  • Biggbear52

Don’t know the name of the by-liner on this article but I love the pictorial use. Being an extreme fan of all Looney Tune Cartoons, on this cartoon Wile- E admits that his real name, at least in this tune, that is real name is MUDD. And remember boys and girls, MUDD spelled backwards is DUM he he he he he he. So true this post. Good job bi-liner, good job indeed!

  • Yazz55

Be careful where you drive those new wheels. Don’t drive over any fiscal cliffs.

    Enjoy your new car Scoop!
