Stephen A Smith on gay kiss: Players shouldn’t be fined for being shocked by something they disagree with

Stephen A Smith makes clear that he is socially liberal and had no problem seeing the gay kiss between Michael Sam and his boyfriend. However he realizes that tolerances goes both ways and believes that those who were shocked by it, either because they disagree with it or weren’t ready for it, shouldn’t be fined because they tweet their shock at seeing it.

He also suggests that ESPN as a network contributed to the ‘shock’ some people expressed as they played the kiss over and over and over and he empathizes with people who had a problem with that.

Smith’s remarks are below but **be forewarned** that ESPN plays the ‘gay kiss’ twice during Smith’s comments, once small screen and once full screen. If I had the ability I would have blurred it. So when you see Michael Sams start to cry, you may want to cover your eyes for a few seconds until it’s over.
