Sultan Erdogan’s post-coup authoritarian crackdown on Turkey has begun

In the wake of the attempted ‘coup’ yesterday, Erdogan has already begun purging the judiciary of those he claims are in league with his favorite enemy, Fethullah Gulen:

The Turkish government has removed 2,745 judges from duty in the wake of a failed military coup in which over 161 people were killed.

The decision followed an emergency meeting of Turkey’s Judges and Prosecutors High Council which was called to discuss members’ links to US-based cleric Fethullah Gülen, the leader of a reformist Muslim movement.

The meeting saw the dismissal of 2,745 judges along with several members of the council itself, which is Turkey’s highest judiciary board.

The government has repeatedly blamed the influence of the Gülen movement for the coup and has said the overthrow attempt was carried out by a clique of supporters within the military.

So not only are they purging the military by arresting over 2800 members, they are also going after they judiciary? What do judges and prosecutors have to do with this?

By the way, this attack on the judiciary isn’t new. Erdogan just ‘reshuffled’ almost 3,800 judges and prosecutors last month:

The Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK), the body overseeing judicial appointments and disciplinary measures, issued a decree June 5 reassigning some 3,750 judges and prosecutors across the country. The massive reshuffle suggests that the notion of a judiciary “working in harmony with the executive,” promoted by the HSYK deputy head, Mehmet Yilmaz, is being duly put into action. The decree contains a number of reassignments whereby judges and prosecutors whose rulings have pleased the government were promoted, while those who irked it were downgraded.

Turkey’s government also just passed a new controversial law to radically reshape the judiciary:

Parliament has approved a controversial law radically shaping the structure of two top supreme judicial institutions, despite serious criticisms that the move will end judicial independence and neutrality in Turkey.

The move was inspired by the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) bid to purge alleged members of the Gülen movement from critical judicial positions, but is slammed by opposition parties as yet another crude power grab by the government and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

So not only is Sultan Erdogan taking over the judiciary via this radical restructuring, but he is getting his way now in purging these so-called Gulenists, using this ‘coup’ as a way to do it.

You know, when the ‘coup’ was finally repelled last night, only HOURS after it had begun, it looked way too easy. Erdogan goes from reportedly fleeing the country to a triumphant welcome home in less than 7 hours? C’mon.

Either this was the worst coup in the history of the world or Erdogan staged it in order to give him the support he needed to further consolidate power.

Let me remind you of what the King of Jordan warned us against a few years ago:

Abdullah is wary of Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish prime minister, whose Justice and Development Party is, he believes, merely promoting a softer-edged version of Islamism. (“Erdogan once said that democracy for him is a bus ride,” Abdullah reports. “ ‘Once I get to my stop, I’m getting off.’ ”) He sees Erdogan as a more restrained and more savvy version of Mohamed Morsi, who set back Muslim Brotherhood’s cause in Egypt by making a premature play for absolute power. “Instead of the Turkish model, taking six or seven years—being an Erdogan—Morsi wanted to do it overnight,” the king said.

Even Fethullah Gulen is suggesting Erdogan may have staged the coup in order to seize more power:

Of course now Turkey is demanding Gulen be extradited to Turkey, suggesting the US is behind the coup attempt unless we turn him over:

And as you already know, Erdogan has taken our soldiers at his Incirlik base hostage.

Looks like Erdogan is making his ‘Hitler’ move, seizing absolute power while getting the citizens of Turkey to applaud him for it.

As we’ve told you in the past:

Now just to be clear, there is no way of knowing for sure who the Antichrist is at this point. But Erdogan is the likeliest candidate given everything we know and should he revive the fourth kingdom as he desires to do and become its caliph, I’d say it’s probably a done deal. But all that remains to be seen.

Erdogan is reviving the old Ottoman Empire, the head of the beast with the fatal wound referred to in Revelation 13. Just as it says, that wound is in the process of healing as Erdogan continues his plan to revive his New Turkey by 2023. And with the way he’s seizing power, I just don’t see anything standing in his way.

So yes, I’m still saying it looks like Erdogan is the Antichrist.
