Looks like Obama’s plan to cover his own posterior has now taken it’s toll on Susan Rice, who is dropping out of the running for Secretary of State.

Of course, she blames Republicans:

NBC NEWS – Embattled U.N. envoy Susan Rice is dropping out of the running to be the next secretary of state after months of criticism over her Benghazi comments, she told NBC News on Thursday.

“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects.

“That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country…Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time,” she wrote in the letter obtained by NBC News.

In her letter to Obama, Rice took aim at her GOP critics.

“The position of secretary of state should never be politicized,” she wrote, adding, “I’m saddened that we have reached this point, even before you have decided whom to nominate. We cannot afford such an irresponsible distraction from the most pressing issues facing the American people.”

Sounds like she has a job at MSNBC anytime she wants.

    • factsobill

      What’s MSNBC?

  • colliemum

““If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects.”

Yeah, because dems never ever engage in partisan politics … ask any GOP appointee, like, ahem, the one to the ambassadorship of the UN …

I think I can detect a grim smile behind that very famous moustache!

    • RighteousCrow_JustCaws

I don’t recall even a ripple of protest when Rice was appointed as ambassador to the UN. Perhaps the protest IS, in fact, strictly due to her conduct – rather than her race or gender.

      • warpmine

Stop that right now. I insist you desist from using facts to prove your points.

  • NYGino

She is set up and used to give cover to the impostors political campaign and now they say the Republicans politicized her nomination. What does color have to do with going before the American people and lying to them, knowingly? The only reason that comes into play is so the left can cry racism when she is called out on her actions.

  • 1217Chic

    Yea yea yea whatever

  • GetWhatYouPayFor

Valerie Jarrett better lay low. Obama is running out of women to march out to the podium without a teleprompter, as he hides behind their pants suits.

      • GetWhatYouPayFor

Great link. I lost it on that one, just looking for his military medals!

      • PicklePlants

Funny – I actually think that Ketchup Kerry was the plan all along. I would like to see him resisted like he was Jenghis Khan.

        • factsobill

Kerry if given that station, would only “swift boat” his way to the mediocrity he represents! I expect the guys will jump on him like a hungry wolf on a bone!

  • Rshill7

She’s worth about 40 million dollars already with her Canadian husband.

It’s partisan politics not to want to reward a big fat liar by making her Secretary of State? We reserve rewarding big fat liars to electing them President Missy.

Were Watergate and Iran Contra partisan politics? Rep King of Iowa said Benghazi is like both of those times ten. What do you say? More like times 5 or 6?

Practice saying this: Benwhatzi? Whenghazi? Whoghazi?

There, you’ve got it made in the shade.

    You’re welcome.

    • Linky1

I love the irony and sneer at the hypocrisy-here she is, boot licker for Barky Boy and she and her hubby, a former TV producer at the C(ommunist) B(roadcasting) C(orporation) in Canada, are huge stakeholders in our oilsands projects and the Keystone pipeline. If she became Secretary of State, she would have to get rid of her vast holdings. The irony goes even further when leftards are complaining about the undue influence the State Department has over any approval of Keystone.

“(Rice)…holds significant investments in more than a dozen Canadian oil companies” and could financially benefit from approval of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.”

      http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/canada-politics/u-secretary-state-candidate-susan-rice-substantial-interests-155053592.html

Barky Boy opposes Keystone, liberals here in Canada want to blockade any oil going from Alberta to the US and within Canada. Maybe in her next career, she can become the spokesperson for TransCanada Pipeline, where it seems that her biggest investment is.

  • marketcomp

Darn! I was looking forward to seeing this incompetent twit grilled on the Senate floor.

    • badbadlibs

And that’s exactly why she dropped out. She couldn’t have stood up to deserved grilling and I would bet the farm that the bo administration didn’t want to take a chance on any truth accidently slipping out of her mouth.

  • Marridge

She never had any business with the Benghazi Massacre to begin with.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Like they give a crap about what is worth it to America. All they’ve done is distract the masses with shiney stuff while they destroy what is good about this country. Evil.

    • Orangeone

Hey sis, she didn’t say “this country” she said “our country”. We all know Barky Boy’s country is Kenya! Just sayin’

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

oh. good catch. Now it makes sense. thanks sis.

        • Orangeone

Just sayin’, just like she said “at this time” . I smell a recess appointment. They don’t care if it’s illegal.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

            I agree girlie.

            • Orangeone

    • BlueGood

One LIAR down, (for now), only 700,000 more to go!

  • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Stewie

It was never a serious proposition…..she was meant to take all the flak for whoever they try to ramrod (sneak) into the position once no one is looking, and if someone does catch it, they’ll play the battered victim with Rice already labeled a casualty of the GOP extremists.

    • SineWaveII

I think she was put up by King Putt as a bullet proof shield for Benghazi . Now they can keep putting all of the blame on her, since she’s not important; and take it off of Oblowhole and Hillary. That’s was their plan right from the beginning. The fact that she wasn’t directly involved has nothing to do with it.

  • SineWaveII

OK “news” media. we’re waiting. Explain Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice please…(waiting) No explanation? Then Shut Up.

  • jleinf

Barry’s running out of fall guys- no wait he just picked a republician for some position.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Hagel’s a republican? Who knew. But then again, for Sec. of Defense- he’s got to be better than ketchup boy Kerry… maybe.

      • sDee

        Hagel and Hussein are sympatico.

In the Senate he [Hagel] amassed a significant track record as one of a hardline hater of Israel who would not affix his name even to the most innocuous pro-Israel initiative.

Hagel wasn’t intimidated, and Barack Hussein Obama wasn’t either. In late October 2009 he appointed Hagel co-chair of his Intelligence Advisory Board

It bodes ill for Jews just how comfortable and at ease Obama obviously is with proud anti-Semites and Israel haters. Obama has appointed all these people, but has concealed their true natures.

Gotta love dear leader’s administration. Either Israel gets screwed or our military does. Sorry sDee. It’s been such a pitiful few days for news. I need a rest from it.

  • jleinf

Still think it’s incompetent to have 35 people in a war torn nation, with radical Islamic terrorists that hate us, without any protection. What’s you think Congress?

  • proudhispanicconservative

Mr Obama’s response: I am saddened by the spontaneous response by the Republicans after being lied to.

    • marketcomp

The Republican paty didn’t put this incompetence up for confirmation. This just proves that his goal and motive is to destroy his opposition, the Republican party. The man is really delusional.

      • Orangeone

        Spot on Sis!

  • Maxsteele

hahaha, Partisan politics? That is an even more lame excuse than the race card. How can it be partisan when the position will definitely, 100%, be filled by a democrat. It’s not that now that she is not up for the job a conservative is going to get it…
But like all other “progressives” they live in a fantasy world where it is always someone else’s fault when they get caught with their pants down and exposed for how corrupt they are.

  • 911Infidel

You lied on Benghazi ya little mix. You can’t defend your little sensitive elitist self. You needed your pimp-daddy Obama to do that for you. You’re way too immature for the job.

  • opinionatedhermit

Susan Rice goes out and tells the American people, indeed the entire world, not once but five times, a complete and utter falsehood. Shows Zero remorse for doing so. And, instead of getting mad at the people who fed her this line …. she is upset with the GOP?

    Do I get this right?

A 9/11 attack, in the middle of a terrorist war, resulting in the Death of 4 Americans including our Ambassador was because of a YouTube Video? Really? No big deal?

This should scare the hell out of everyone. Because, evidently the best excuse these clowns have is ….

…. only our very own President of the United States, his top security genius’, and those who desire to be Sec. of State are stupid enough to fall for this shit….

They need to wake the hell up. Because, I can guaran-damn-tee them that I ain’t falling for it.

  • tinlizzieowner

She didn’t write a letter to Obama, Valerie Jarrett wrote a letter to her. This two bit bureaucrat probably just copied it and put it in a fresh envelope.

  • notebene

Why am I not excited? Perhaps it’s because the administration is always finding even more inappropriate appointees to take her place. I think she’s the squirrel we were all watching while they were setting up the real nominee. Anything involving this administration makes me paranoid and pessimistic. Wait a minute…I know why…experience!

    • Orangeone

It is not paranoia when there is a justified reason to be concerned….you have a justified reason!

  • Rocco11

Don’t worry, Obama will find another communist equally bad…

    • Orangeone

Please let it be Valerie Jarrett! I would love to see her without security in the Middle East :)

      • NYGino

She doesn’t need security in the middle east, that is her home and for what she is doing to our country, she is their heroine.

        • Orangeone

Me wonders after #Benghazi and the # that our former Navy Seals left dead in the streets.

  • Susitna

Great part of the confirmation process would have been an extensive investigation regarding Rice’s involvement in the Osama bin Laden-gate during the Clinton’s administration, where she blocked valuable information from CIA, blaming the agency thereafter. This woman perfectly knows that she has lots of dirt under the carpet and doesn’t want to fully destroy her career, so she is looking now for other “options”……..
Besides her “questionable past”, her present is even more disqualifying. She exaggerated her role as loyal useful idiot with her Sunday-lies-marathon. And all those who are using her gender and color to defend her, are actually disqualifying her.
I don’t like her letter to Obama because she is not accepting any responsibility but blaming others for her own actions. Her argument that the choice of one of the most important political jobs shouldn’t be about politics is a big contradiction. But I understand that the only language she knows is “political trade“: I go to the sunday shows and you give me some bacon…….

    • Suzyqpie

Remove race & gender. Susan Rice’s boss and her bosses boss set her up for failure. This passes as governance? How could Susan Rice have jeopardized all that she has worked for, to go on TV, yea TV, I guess these “shows” are credible, and put on a display of total uninformed mislead incompetence? At the behest of whom? TV, is a grotesque squandering of human ingenuity, as exemplified by this sorry mess. Someone watches, someone reports, someone spins, Total 0ubliette.

      • Orangeone

Rice did not fail. She did exactly what she was told to do. The new media dug up her racist past and blasted it all over the internet and enough people were paying attention!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/44F4AB4VSCTOCHBMBG4ZWWD5OU Laurel

Yeah but it’s okey dokey and alrighty when Democrats practice partisan politics on every single issue.

  • Sober_Thinking

After the nonsense after Benghazi by Rice and this regime… she didn’t deserve a promotion.

    • marketcomp

He’ll appoint her to something else where no confirmation is necessary. It’s not over yet for Susan Rice and this administration.

      • toongoon

Absolutely right. You don’t get rid of a good propagandist until you need them as a scapegoat

      • KenInMontana

The position of National Security Advisor has been put out there as being under consideration, a position that does not require Senate approval.

        • marketcomp

Well then, I guess that’s where Ms. Rice will end up.

          • KenInMontana

            Unfortunately.

        • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Stewie

A partisan hack that has the googly eyes for “the one” as filter and controller of information on 10s of millions of Americans……that’s going to work out well. The only reason to put someone like that in that position is to do a lot of bad things w/o fear of it ever getting out.

          • KenInMontana

That pretty well sums it up.

  • Sandra123456

Why doesn’t Obama appoint Susan Rice to be his new Spokes Kid? Jay Carney has had the Spokes Kid long enough and he’s white. Time to give a black the job of daily liar.

  • E. Lee Zimmerman

If that’s the case, then this is one example of partisan politics working to benefit this great nation. Amen!

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

Can’t wait to see what Rice will say under oath when she’s forced to testify before Congress. That ought to be fun. Somebody is going to crack here and rat somebody else out. Rice could rat out Hillary, but that would be suicidal on her part. She we only do it if she thought she was facing real jail time for perjury. And then there is Petraeus. I’m sure he still has a story to tell about Benghazi and the aftermath regarding the video. Rice was dumped because the White House didn’t want to litigate Benghazi all over again in the Senate confirmation hearings. Too bad they’ll still be forced to do it after the State Department’s report comes out, which is soon.

  • Haywoodjbl

Four men dead and she went on TV and lied about it. What she is saying is that Those men’s death is partisan as well. She doesn’t belong in any position of authority.
But I digress, there are very few in Washington who should be in their position.

    • Orangeone

You got the gender part but forgot the race part. The 4 MEN were WHITE.

      • toongoon

My bad. I just can’t bring myself to think like a racist. I just leave it to the racist left to do that.

        • Orangeone

  • xjesterx

“If Senators McCain & Graham want to go after somebody, they should go after me”. Mr. Obama on November 14, 2012. (Feel free to imagine his odd cadence that he always uses as you read it…). And 52% of the people voted for this guy for another four years. WTF.

    • Orangeone

Now it’s time for McCain & Graham to go after Barky Boy. Issa needs to subpoena Barky to testify about Benghazi and he needs to do it before the 20-day $4 million taxpayer funded vacation (actually instead of it)

Susan, I don’t care who you blame for your dropping out, as long as you just drop out. You don’t deserve the position and a blind man (especially a color blind one) could easily see that. You say the position of Secretary of State should never be politicized. Well, it should never be dumbed-down either and with you out of the running, it may just be saved for a qualified person.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IJYM277N7VJNF772U6DUVQKHAE TIMERUNNER

Mrs Rice who sent you out on a Sunday morning TV media programs to lie to the American people about the terrorist attack that killed 4 Americans including Ambassador Chris Stephens on 9-11-2011. The lie you told was that the attacks were because of a youtube video, who told you to lie! That’s all I want to hear from your sorry @s and Obamas sorry @s!
I hope that wasn’t being rude but if it was i don’t give a damn, you owe us Americans the truth, we want answers.

  • hongryhawg

You can be sure writing that letter wasn’t her idea or her doing. That letter was written for her. I’m sure she was tasting the Sec’y of State perks already. She didn’t fold on it; she was folded out of it. The pretender knows her nomination will shine too much light on Benghazi and though he doesn’t appear to be bothered by it, he is. Rice’s shiny head will pop up again down the road.

I don’t remember which ‘situational hypocrite’ female talking head was saying tonight that the Republicans wouldn’t confirm her because she was a ‘female of color’.
Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice (R) was a ‘female of color’? Sec. of State Colon Powell (R) was a ‘male of color’.
It almost boggles the mind that there are actually people out in ‘media land’ that will listen to these people?

  • http://twitter.com/wbcsaint Sam R

Even scarier is the fact that she is being considered for a National Security Advisor position inside the White House that would not require confirmation. If you ever needed confirmation that Obama is out to destroy the country the fact that Ms Rice still has any job is proof and the fact that she is being considered for security advisor is the nail in the coffin

  • http://www.facebook.com/jaspersilvis Jasper Silvis

So we are to believe that Susan Rice is smart enough to be Secretary of State, but too stupid to fall for the “video” cover up when she had access to all the necessary intelligence and supposed “common sense” to make a rational assessment? Sorry, Susan. Objections to your candidacy for SoS appointment was not because you are a woman or because you are black. It is because you are stupid. Harsh, yes, but it was harsh for you to perpetuate a lie on American citizens as to the reason other Americans were murdered. And you still don’t see it. Shame.
