Ted Cruz told Mark Levin tonight that the question by CNN on Obamacare was silly, that it was CNN trying to play gotcha so they could say “Haha Ted Cruz is suddenly on Obamacare.” Even though he’s signing up for Obamacare, Cruz left nothing for doubt, saying that every word of Obamacare needs to be repealed and that he looks forward to the day in 2017 that a Republican president repeals it.
Cruz said that he’s not taking the illegal exemption from Obamacare that Obama gave to Congress, noting that “CNN thinks it is some clever gotcha – Haha, you’re complying with the law.” Cruz said he also believes in a flat tax and abolishing the IRS, but it doesn’t mean he’s going to refuse to pay his taxes. He’s going to comply with the tax law because, as citizens, we are obligated to do so even as we work to change the law.
