Ted Cruz explains how he’s pushing Trump to use NAFTA renegotiations for significant REGULATORY reform (it sounds boring, but it’s really cool!)

Ted Cruz explained to The Chad Hasty Show how he’s pushing Trump to not only use NAFTA renegotiations to open up more markets, but also to use it for significant regulatory reform:

What Cruz is pushing Trump to include in these NAFTA renegotiations is something called the REINS Act, which would prevent unelected bureaucrats from imposing economic regulations without congressional approval that have a cost of more than 100 million on the economy.

And the trick to this is that if it is included in NAFTA renegotiations, it can be approved in the Senate by a simple majority and won’t face any filibuster by Democrats.

Cruz says this would be tremendous victory for the economy.

The radio host then asks Cruz his opinion of where Trump’s mind is at on these NAFTA negotiations, and Cruz speaks somewhat frankly about it. He says he shares the concern of those worried about Trump ending NAFTA and affirms that there are some in the administration on both sides of the issue. He even explains that he’s been in conversations with Trump where Trump has asked if he should end NAFTA altogether, and Cruz says his answer has been an emphatic NO, that it would be very bad for the country.

Cruz adds that he doesn’t think Trump will end NAFTA, but he doesn’t know for sure and admits that the direction of these negotiations is still up in the air.
