Ted Cruz is putting his conservative weight behind Darryl Glenn in Colorado’s Senate race:

THE HILL – Ted Cruz threw his weight behind Darryl Glenn in Colorado’s crowded Republican primary, his first endorsement since ending his presidential bid.

“I am proud to stand with the grassroots in Colorado supporting Darryl Glenn in his campaign for the U.S. Senate,” the Texas senator said in a statement released by his political office.

“He is a constitutional conservative with the experience to understand what it takes to bring back economic growth and preserve our individual liberties. I am confident he will go to Washington to fight for those values, and he won’t back down.”
Glenn is an Air Force veteran and current local county commissioner, but has never held federal office.

He and businessman Robert Blaha are running as the more conservative candidates in the race, while Colorado State Athletic Director Jack Graham, former State Rep. Jon Keyser, and businessman Ryan Frazier are working to appeal to the more establishment lane of the party.
Cruz’s support, along with previous nods from the Senate Conservatives Fund and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, could give Glenn an edge in the primary. Cruz’s office also announced that he will campaign with Glenn on Monday.

Contrary to what The Hill reports, this isn’t Cruz’s first endorsement since ending his presidential bid. If you recall, he endorsed Jim Bridenstine at the end of May.

But it does appear to be his first Senate endorsement, and I hope Glenn is victorious in Colorado as the Senate truly needs more conservatives.
