By The Right Scoop

This is a very revealing clip from Ted Cruz where he explains the strategy behind their filibuster threat on gun legislation and WHY that strategy was so effective. In short, Cruz reveals that several Republican Senators yelled at him, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul because after they sent their big filibuster threat to Harry Reid, these Republican Senators then had to return to their districts and thus were hammered by constituents that they had to vote on principle – and these Republican Senators didn’t like that. They felt that this filibuster letter that didn’t have their names on it made them look like squishes. Ted Cruz says there’s one way to solve that problem – “stop being squishes.”

Let me hazard a guess…did these “Republicans” include Senators who have nicknames like McLame and Grahamnesty?

  • WordsFailMe

    Smart man. Great state

  • ryanomaniac

Well, when you’re getting yelled at by lead Republican Senator’s then you are doing something right. Its high time some people start ratting out these treasonous Republicans and what they say and do behind closed doors. Thanks Cruz for getting that ball rolling.

    • strangernfiction

Please start a real Conservative Party, Sen. Cruz.

Ted Cruz is one of the few politicians out there that gives me hope that Congress will actually represent the will of the people, and not just become hacks for special-interest groups. We need A LOT more like him in Congress, which is why I hope and pray that Allen West gets to go back there soon.

  • TinaG123

Reality hits RINO’s right squarely between the eyes. I wish it caused physical pain, something to make it easier to remember.

I can assure those RINO senators that their constituents were riled up long before Ted Cruz prepared to filibuster gun control!  The RINOs are just like the Dems…it’s the Tea Party’s fault…NOPE!  We the people are done with the tyranny and our “public servants” refusal to listen to us!  We will indeed clog your phone lines and internet feeds if you continue to ignore us!  Let’s keep up the pressure folks!

  • Amjean

Ted Cruz is always awesome!  And I appreciate that he always gives props to others, whether it be Rand Paul, Mike Lee, (Sarah Palin for helping him get elected) and the American people for starting to rise up against tyranny.
I also appreciated knowing that the three of them orchestrated the threat of filibuster.  Its awesome to know that not only do they have brains and conviction, they also have great strategy.
I trust Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Mike Lee to do the right things.    Unfortunately, I can’t say that about most of the others.

    • cabensg

That clip was the best conceivable start to this new week!
Ted Cruz is the best thing to have happened to DC since God knows when!
And I love the way he gives credit to the grass roots.
He’s on his way to become a legend, after four months in DC only. And why? Because he knows the Constitution in and out, and because he stands on principle. Texans knew this, that’s why the elected him – and now we all know.
God bless him and keep him and his family safe.

  • SweetLiberty

Thank you Senator Cruz for standing up for Liberty!

    • cabensg

ryanomaniac  I feel he’s had a real impact on others standing up and speaking out especially in the House even though he’s a Senator. It seems there’s been a flurry of activity by conservatives since he and Paul did the filibuster.

I’m so jealous! I wish Ted Cruz was my senator! Can you believe this?! That we have rino’s yelling at Cruz and the others, complaining they have to stand on principal! Good grief!
I will not be conned again into voting for a rino in my state! Using fear to say if we don’t vote for the rino, you’ll get an Obama dem instead! When they almost vote the same way all the time, that’s not a choice! I want a true conservative! Tired of this lesser of two evils kind of voting!

The GOP establishment is definitely using a strategy of bullying to get conservatives on board with Reid and Obama’s agenda.  It’s happening in both the House and Senate.  There is safety in numbers and that is why the squishes want conservatives to shut up and just vote for what the establishment tells them to vote for.  The grassroots will get beat into submission and have no place to go if all Republicans get on board with gun control, amnesty and whatever other left wing legislation comes down the pike over the next few years.  However, if conservatives in Congress stand on principle the squishes will be left exposed when they vote for Obama’s agenda.

Yeah, and they do it out of just two counties. Talk about tyranny by democracy. Washington state these days is a prime example of why the founding fathers structured the Republic as they did.
The progs are like the blob-they destroy and digest all they come into contact with and grow and grow. And infiltrate into every small crevice until they bring everything down. The only way to get rid of them is to freeze them out and deny the opportunities to infiltrate-that is, never compromise, keep the pressure up, and always remember they are enemies who will devour us if we let down our guard, as they have been doing.

Cruz needs Jeanine Pirro as his VP.  The leftist heads would simply explode.

Senator Cruz is listening to his constituents, and doing exactly what he was elected to do by the folks here in Texas. It’s obvious from the tenor of their criticism that the junior senator is stepping on the toes of some expensively shod (my guess is Gucci Italian Leather), senior senators who have bootlicked a long time for their kickbacks…now they have to get the junior senators, Cruz, Paul, and Lee, from the Tea Party to toe the line they have drawn…stay steady, Teddy…God bless you, sir!

This was truly a great video.  I hope Rush or Levin use it on their shows.
So far as I can see, Ted Cruz is THE MAN to fight for us.
If he were to say he’d had enough of the Big Whigs in the GOP and turn either Independent Conservative or affiliate with an alternative conservative party, I would support him wholeheartedly.
If Liebermann can go Independent and remain in the Senate for however long he wanted, I don’t see why Ted Cruz couldn’t go Independent as well or represent an alternative conservative party.
Does anyone here know what exactly would happen to Ted Cruz were he go independent or 3rd Party while still a senator?  Would his committee asignments change?  What would happen?
