Ted Cruz specifically said he will NOT accept the Obamacare subsidy on Mark Levin Show yesterday

Apparently there is some confusion about whether Ted Cruz is taking an Obamacare subsidy from the federal government. He’s not. He specifically said that he will NOT accept the Obamacare subsidy on the Mark Levin show yesterday.

Here’s the transcript:

So for the past couple of years I’ve been on my wife’s health care. My wife was working and so we covered our family under her health care.

When I announced for president yesterday, Heidi, my wife, is taking an unpaid leave of absence from her job. She’s coming full time to the campaign with no pay and no benefits to devote her time to helping me campaign across the country.

So we’re going off the health care we have and switching to new health care. So we’re assessing the options and what I’ve said is look, it’s likely we’ll do what anyone else would do which is go under the health care that I get in my job, which is the option you’re given when you’re serving in the Senate is to go on the federal exchange. Just like about every other member of Congress that does the exact same thing, gets their health care insurance from their employer.

And what I have said is that I am not going to take any federal subsidy for this.

Below are his full comments on Obamacare that we posted last night. The portion transcripted above starts at 0:25 and goes until about 1:17.
