The new Independent candidate won’t be on the ballot in 25 states. Here they are…

The new independent candidate, Evan McMullin, won’t be on the ballot in 25 states because the qualification deadline has already passed. Five of those states are battleground states (otherwise known as swing states).

Here’s the list:

  • Arkansas
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Missouri
  • Nebraska
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • North Carolina
  • Oklahoma
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Texas
  • Vermont
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin

I imagine he’ll be suing to get on the ballot in these states. Whether that’s possible at this point or not remains to be seen.

But if he doesn’t succeed, it’ll be very hard to take him seriously as a candidate. I guess he could try and start a massive write-in campaign or something.
