American Enterprise Institute scholar Danielle Pletka laid out a very persuasive argument that it was John Kerry’s own vanity that doomed a “fake” Middle East peace process.

If you need a reason to believe Pletka has the right argument, just listen to the argument against her – Kerry drank beer with Benjamin Netanyahu 20 years ago? And then she follows up with “yes it was idealist, but boy was it the right thing to do.” Kinda sounds like what unicorn-dreamers say about Communism – yes, it’s idealistic, but if it worked, it would be amazing! Except it doesn’t work.
