Trey Gowdy affirmed today that Lois Lerner will testify, but it may not be this week. She will show up on Wednesay, Gowdy says, but her lawyer is requesting another 7 days for whatever reason. He points out that he’s OK with it as long as it means she answers their questions next week but he’s uncertain why she needs another week since she’s had 9 months to prepare.

Nail a pair of handcuffs on the table in front of her!

    • badbadlibs

      Excellent idea.
And show her the latest in orange jump suits.

    • Dukehoopsfan

From the looks of her I’m thinking she already has her own.

      • nibblesyble

        ewwwwwwwwww..images burning my eyes Duke!

        • Dukehoopsfan

Sorry about that. I guess I’m feeling a little snarky about our government today. Try thinking about kittens and puppies. 😉

          • nibblesyble

            Lol, done!

  • Meat Fighter

This may be the levee that breaks open the scandal. Strong arm individuals and their life and they will give up information to save their backside.

Giving the IRS a taste of their own medicine…..priceless.

    • Chester Simms

      One can only hope.

    • badbadlibs

Maybe that’s why we haven’t heard from the IRS agent who was suppose to show up to our audit and has never called back!
      That was two weeks ago.

      • Meat Fighter

Wow, that is interesting…..Anymore information you can expand upon? Just curious.

        • badbadlibs

We got an audit notice end of January. We spent weeks preparing while waiting for the agent to return our many, many calls. He finally did call once, a week before the scheduled appointment. He did not show up on the scheduled day, my husband called and left several messages, have not heard a word back.
We did get a tax attorney (ugh) and he said he won’t notify the IRS we have him on retainer. We’ll wait until we finally hear back?!?!
I have no idea what else is going on, except the attorney said the agent probably has much bigger fish to fry….who knows.

          • Meat Fighter

“agent probably has much bigger fish to fry.”

If this doesn’t sum up the power the federal government vis-a-vis the IRS has over citizens in a once free republic then I don’t know what does.

It’s amazing how some states operate just fine without an income tax yet discussing this option on the federal level is “extreme” and “crazy winger talk.”

            • badbadlibs

I was watching hearings last week with the new IRS head. A republican congressman mentioned that the IRS says it can’t afford to answer more then 61% of the phone calls received. He then asked why the IRS should be handing out any “bonuses” with the tax payer funds they receive?
We feel like we’re in limbo, afraid to make a move one way or the other with this hanging over our heads. That’s why we got the attorney.
The “weaponing” of the government is well under way.

          • Army_Pilot1967

That’s the way the imperial government works…they can be late or miss an appointment without explanation, but you had better not be late or miss an appointment because the wrath of the crown will come down hard on you if you do!!!!

            • badbadlibs

              I know and it’s sickening.

          • nibblesyble

So frustrating..like living under a cloud and now you have to play wait and see. My prayers are with you sis!

            • badbadlibs

The government was never meant to be a weapon. That’s why the framers never instituted a permanent income tax. Wish we would have let well enough alone.

      • notsofastthere

Wonder what would have happened it YOU didn’t show up for the appointment for the IRS agent?
They’d be on you like chewing gum on the soul of your shoe

        • badbadlibs

We would be sitting in a cell by now. But, they know they have no one to answer to.

  • Jose

the pessimist in me thinks she wouldn’t be allowed to testify if she was going to say anything damning

  • $3273457

She needs that extra week to be coached by Axelrod and the rest of Obama’s goons: “You WILL say this….” “You WILL NOT say that…”

Lerner has been in the belly of the beast. She knows what horrors are in store for her if she betrays her masters. The only information she will offer will be useless, inane blather. However, if anyone can drag something out of her, it’s Gowdy. That guy is a pit bull!

  • Army_Pilot1967

Obviously she doesn’t want to face Gowdy or any other questioner. She’s gotta lot of ‘splaining to do!

    • gigi0f3

Yes, Losi (spelling intentional) has some ‘splaining to do!!!

  • HCTUB

If Lois Lerner testify . Will obama and his gang use executive order to cover they a?s in this phony scandal , and the others to come . It’s good that time might be catching up to this CHARLATAN , I think he’s turning out to be a great EMBARRASSMENT to our country and himself , and people don’t believe what he says or how he’s leading our country .

  • RWrad

This woman needs to be dragged out of that hearing in shackles and chains then tied to the handrail and horsewhipped. Then she can spend the rest of her miserable life in hard time!

  • nibblesyble

If I were Lois I would be terrified…facing down Trey Gowdy and his steely-eyed stare…shudder… this monstrous hag is going down!

    • lanahi

She’s just as terrified by Obama’s crew. In fact, her life may not be long.

  • Josh

I would imagine she is waiting for Holder to get Obama to sign her pardon in advance.

Plus, Obama’s team takes weeks to forge documents in Adobe Acrobat clearing the president from all wrong-doing. This time, they may even compress the layers before releasing the PDFs.

    • las1

They set up a new department just for that. The new Federal Administrator for Retroactive Tampering (FART). The department was set up after Sheriff Arpaio began his digging into Obama’s birth certificate.

      • Sentinel

        Lol!

  • las1

One thing I wished Bill Hemmer had asked is: why Gowdy has refused to give her immunity. If she is testifying before Congress without immunity… that woman could eventually end up in jail. In that case, there is not a lot of incentive for her to sing the full and complete and absolute truth. And she will eventually waffle so much that she will hope to strike some sort of bargain.

If, on the other hand, Gowdy grants total immunity to Lerner, the hearing will get all the information they need including names and dates and lines of communication that will zing right up to Obama himself. Now that’s the gold strike we need. I am less concerned if this human excrement goes to jail than I am that she will sing about Obama and the lice infesting his underwear.

Is there a fine Scoopian out there who can ad a little more to why Gowdy is not granting immunity.

I see meanwhile at Shoebat, that he wants people to write Gowdy, Issa and Jim Jordan about Lerner’s retroactive fast track granting of 501(3)(c) status to Obama’s terrorist brother Malik Obama for his terrorist Sudan connected Barack H. Obama Foundation.
    http://shoebat.com/2014/03/03/call-action-contact-three-congressmen-march-5th/

My dear American Cousins… please flood the phones and faxes of Gowdy, Issa and Jordan

    • Sentinel

My 2 cents: because she’s at the heart of it all and guilty as sin.

      • las1

Oh I agree… and Gowdy said as much, but he was pretty adamant the she gets no immunity… at least he was a week ago. But she’s not at the heart of it, or at least that’s what we need to determine.. that’s why it would be good to grant her immunity. I’m wondering if that’s changed or if there’s there’s a compelling argument not to grant it Like I said… if they can get to the head of the fish where the rot begins… the better.

        • lanahi

He says they have the evidence and she can sacrifice herself or blow the whistle…those are her only choices.

        • Sentinel

I agree with you. But I’m convinced she won’t tell the truth (the whole truth) no matter what. Especially if “she fears her life is in danger” by doing so (which might be a crock). And the fact that she pleaded the 5th again infuriates me. She has that right but it once again makes me believe she’s guilty of a great many things. And so is someone up the food chain – that much seems clear.

          • las1

When I saw Issa’s questions and her repeated “5th”… I ran out for duct tape for my head. What Issa didn’t ask was Learner’s role in granting retroactive 501 3 c status to Obama’s terrorist pal brother Malick Obama. Issa and Gowdy got the evidence… why didn’t he throw that on the pile of questions. Cowards… the whole lot. Afraid of being called racist. And that childish screeching from Cummings. What a human shield for Obama!

    • John Hornak

If her and her lawyer submit a proffer, which is ” A, here is what I know and I’ll trade this for Immunity”…they might consider it, but she and her brain dead lawyer haven’t even done that.

    • Dr. Strangelove

I think that with immunity or not, she’ll fall on the sword for her (redacted) in the WH.

  • kong1967

Is she voluntarily testifying or is it mandatory? She already pleaded the 5th, so could they force her to go back in?

What I’m getting at is that if she came forward and agreed to testify when they couldn’t force her to, it’s going to be a setup. Story time to protect the administration. I don’t expect her to tell the truth at all, or to break and go against the administration.

    • SisterMary

I’m certainly no lawyer, but it seems to me that a person cannot testify before Congress that she is innocent of any wrong-doing and then plead the Fifth, without answering any questions with regard to her assertion. I could be wrong.

      • kong1967

Well, that was the argument given by Congress as to why she couldn’t plead the 5th, so I’m assuming you’re correct. But I haven’t heard anything from her since so I was assuming they couldn’t force her to go back in.

In any case, she will lie lie lie lie lie. They are prepping her.

      • Dr. Strangelove

Rush, Judge Napolitano and Mark Levin certainly agree with you. They all seem to be pretty well versed on the Constitution.

    • happytrails5

She’s not doing anything voluntarily. Yes, they called her back. No, she cannot make a statement that she is innocent and then plead the Fifth. (If you are innocent, why do you fear incriminating yourself?) Perhaps she needs another week to screw up the courage to tell who ordered her to target conservative groups. Maybe she just needs another week to get ready for the slammer. I believe Trey when he says they have the evidence. Where’s the popcorn?

      • kong1967

Thank you. I don’t think she will give anyone up. If she does, Obama will fire one person and say he knew nothing about it and that it’s over.

All the corruption and using government agencies (including Eric Holder and the DoJ) to target his enemies, and Obama is so protected nothing can be done about it. He always makes sure nothing can be tied to him. I wish….

  • Sentinel

I’ve said it before: I want her to burn. She’s at the heart of ALL of this! Although I’ve lost hope that that will happen. It would be nice to see a little justice for once… just to let us know the good guys are still out there. I love Trey… I think he’s a straight shooter and feel he’d be an excellent AG. Someday perhaps.

    • FreeManWalking

I want her wrapped all around 0b0’s pant legs when she ignites…

      • Sentinel

Lol… that would be awesome. I’d also be fine with her being wrapped around his pant legs and being an anchor as she’s thrown under the bus.

  • olddog

7 days to be prepped by (D)em-wit Lawyers from the FBI/IRS/DOJ…

  • timsrighty

Is this hideous woman still on paid leave? Anyway, ever since I saw this hag plead the 5th with that cold, arrogant look on her face, I’ve wanted her in cuffs. Burn baby, burn.

  • Aaron Herald

Ahh, okay … now I finally understand the term “man crush”. Gowdy rocks.

  • PVG

I hope and pray “the evidence” forces her to sing like a canary to save herself and take down BO and his evil empire!

    • PapaLouie

I hope they have already interviewed Lerner’s personal secretary, who probably knows everything Lois knows. That way they can catch her if she tries to lie. If they haven’t questioned her immediate colleagues, why not?

  • PapaLouie

Apparently the inmates are running the asylum now. But to be fair, after Lois and her lawyer have taken 9 months to conceive and give birth to a monstrous lie, it’s a nice gesture for Republicans to give her another week to recover.

    • Dr. Strangelove

We can only hope for some serious post-partum depression.

  • Swamp Fox

    She’ll blame it on Bush.

  • Dr. Strangelove

    “…buying time…” Nailed it.

  • Hoss51

Really sorry I don’t trust her at all……………………..this is a misdirection play. Will these criminals ever be held accountable?

  • lawngren

She’s had 9 months (amusing coincidence there) to prepare and she needs another 2 weeks? And Gowdy “is OK” with that?

    What a fat freaking farce.
