TRUMP GOES ALL IN: I don’t know how Cruz can be a Senator and a Canadian citizen

Trump was once again pushing his phony talking points about Cruz’s eligibility, pointing out that Cruz was a Canadian citizen until about 2 years ago. But then he said something even more bizarre, saying “I mean he was a Canadian citizen! I don’t know how he can be a Senator and a Canadian citizen.”

Watch:

I know The Donald is desperate to win and will say anything to hurt Ted Cruz. But Maybe The Desperate Donald needs to read the Constitution again because it clearly spells out in ARTICLE I, SECTION 3, CLAUSE 3 what the requirements are for being a United States Senator — and dual citizenship is not a limiting factor:

No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.

How much more loony is Donald Trump going to get with this phony issue? I guess we’ll find out soon enough, especially if he loses to Cruz in Iowa. Who knows what he’ll say then.
