Trump picks STRICT fiscal conservative to head government budget office

Trump just picked a director for the Office of Management and Budget, and he sounds like a straight up hardcore small government conservative. I have no idea what’s going on.

Mick Mulvaney is going to be painted as an extremist by liberals, but he’s alright by me:

Mulvaney, who would need Senate confirmation if nominated, has previously voiced interest in leading OMB.

“I would love to be director of OMB,” he wrote on Oct. 19 when asked by a constituent what role he would prefer in Trump’s Cabinet on Facebook. “That is where I think real improvements can be made in how the government is run.”
Mulvaney is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and a co-founder of the House Freedom Caucus. The South Carolina lawmaker is also a staunch fiscal conservative.

Mulvaney voted against the massive omnibus bill in 2015, and against the $1.1 trillion budget in 2014 under Boehner too!!

This seems completely against what Trump ran on, since he talked like a big government liberal on spending. But, this is great news for those of us who were criticizing him for rejecting that tenet of traditional conservatism. Feels weird.
