Trump takes credit for ‘crackdown’ on illegal aliens, ICE says they are routine raids

Presidente Trumpo responded to all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the recent illegal alien raids by saying he was just keeping a campaign promise.

People are freaking out:

BUT, there are actually very few people being “rounded up” – only 160 in South California. And according to ICE, these are pretty bad people:

Federal immigration officials say 160 people were arrested across the Southland over the past week during a crackdown targeting “criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and immigration fugitives.”

The arrests took place in six counties during what U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials described as a “five-day targeted enforcement operation” that began Monday and wrapped up around noon Friday.

Of the 160 arrested, about 150 had criminal histories, while five more had either been previously deported or had “final orders of removal”. Many of those arrested had prior felony convictions for “serious or violent offenses” including child sex crimes and assault.

The arrestees – which were 95 percent male – included nationals from a dozen countries, according to ICE.

BUT… if Trump is taking credit for the raids, then ICE is calling him a liar because they say they have nothing to do with the President.

So. Yeah.

We have more of the liberal freak out here.

I mean I’m sorry, but this a normal governmental process. And if “families are broken” because of it, as this moron says:

…well that’s the parents fault for being present in America while being illegal and having American citizen kids. Further, if we deport people, we’re not the ones breaking up their families – THEY ARE. They’re choosing not to bring their kids with them.

I DO think, however, we on the right need to temper our rhetoric against illegal aliens. Most of these people are put in very unfortunate and difficult circumstances, and we should have sympathy for their plight, even as we defend our right to the rule of law.
