After his spurious success with making Carrier change their mind about sending 1,000 Indiana jobs to Mexico, the President-elect is targeting another company with a threatening tweet:
Rexnord of Indiana is moving to Mexico and rather viciously firing all of its 300 workers. This is happening all over our country. No more!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 3, 2016
Rexnord has about 7,000 employees around the world and had announced it was moving 350 jobs out of Indiana to Mexico:
Thurs. we reported on local union plans to ask @realDonaldTrump to stop Rexnord move to Mexico. They got his attention. https://t.co/PsfBA7y8eK

If he’s gonna get Mike Pence to give them a tax break like he did with Carrier, it might not work as well since they were already threatened with tax incentives:
Breaking: The city of Indy @IndyMayorJoe seeking Rexnord repay $380,674 in property tax breaks after deciding to move jobs to Mexico @rtv6

City of Indy sends letter to Rexnord Corp asking for meeting within 30 days to discuss repayment of tax breaks. .@rtv6 @IndyThisWeek

And there other issues as well – will Trump be able to negotiate with a company that unlike Carrier, doesn’t have $5 BILLION in contracts with the federal government? It’ll be really interesting to see the details of the Carrier deal laid out, and what happens with Rexnord.
