El Trumpo once again showed his magnificent ability to talk out of both sides of his mouth and not realize it at all.
Trump says Obama is WRONG about tranny rights:
Donald Trump vowed Monday that if elected president he would rescind the Obama administration’s new directives aimed at protecting transgender people against discrimination in schools and health-care coverage.
And he also claims that he would protect tranny rights:
Trump said in an interview with The Washington Post that the government must act “to protect all people” and that he was eager to learn more about the movement for transgender rights.
“It is a very, very small portion of the population, but as I said, you have to protect everybody, including small portions of the population,” Trump said during the interview at his 26th-floor office at Trump Tower here in Manhattan.
Uhm… what?!
He repeatedly said transgender people should be protected under the law and said he believed most states would “make the right decisions.”
Asked if he thought the issue had been overblown, Trump said, “I don’t think so, because you’ve got to protect all people, even though it’s a tiny percentage of 1 percent. I think from that standpoint, [states] should come up with a policy that’s going to work for everybody and protect people.”
Obama sees transgender rights as a modern civil rights issue, but Trump offered a different characterization: “I think it’s a people thing.”
Dude. It’s either a Civil Rights issue, or it’s not. This is the stupidest cop-out of a debate I’ve ever heard. And it’ll probably work. Because people have shown they don’t care about being right. They just want stuff done.
Is this how he tries to appease both sides? He tells us that that transgender bathroom rights aren’t a Civil Rights issue, but he IS going to protect their rights to use bathrooms. I have no idea. I have repeatedly said that Trump’s campaign shows that words have no meaning anymore. This weekend, they actually affirmed that I have been right about that.
