Turns out MSNBC did notice Obamacare architect vid, invites him on so he can LIE about his comments

I was wondering who would be the first to interview Jonathan Gruber on MSNBC– if at all. Well it turns out they gave that job to the 1pm-er Ronan Farrow who just lobbed softballs at Gruber allowing him to lie about his comments and suggest he meant something else:

Gruber claims he was just pointing out that handling public policy through the tax code is more “politically palatable” than through actual spending and that was his point. But that’s not at all what he said – in fact it was the exact opposite:

“This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure the CBO didn’t score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes the bill dies.”

His point was the mandate COULD NOT be seen as a tax or else the bill would have died. So the architects had to HIDE the fact that it was a tax.

He further underscored his point about “lack of transparency” or hiding the truth by saying this:

If you made it explicit that healthy people pay in [and] sick people get money it would not have passed.

Again, they had to HIDE the redistribution of money from healthy people to sick people so it wouldn’t pass, just as they had to HIDE that the mandate was a tax.

His point he made in the video above is flatly false but then this wouldn’t be the first time he’s lied to cover up the truth. In fact he mentions that ‘typo’ lie again in video. I guess he figures the more time you say it the more it will be true or something.
