Here’s the lowdown on this poll:
The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone from February 22 to 24, 2016 with 456 Texas voters likely to vote in the Republican presidential primary and 304 Texas voters likely to vote in the Democratic presidential primary. The Republican likely primary voter sample has a margin of error of +4.6 percent and the Democratic likely primary voter sample has a margin of error of + 5.6 percent. The poll was conducted by the Monmouth University Polling Institute in West Long Branch, NJ.
The Austin American Statesman also has a poll out today that puts Cruz up by +12 over Trump:
Here’s the lowdown on this one:
This Texas Pulse poll surveyed about 1,000 likely voters — 620 Republicans and 411 Democrats — between Feb. 19 and Feb. 22.
It doesn’t provide a margin of error.
I should also mention that once again there is another poll that puts Cruz and Trump neck and neck in Texas, this time in a tie: Cruz 32, Trump 32, Rubio 17, Kasich 6, Carson 5.
It’s a SurveyUSA poll and was taken on the 21-22, surveying 645 Likely & Actual GOP Primary Voters with a margin of error of +/- 3.9%.
