“Useless and Misleading” — CBS News: Obamacare website DRAMATICALLY underestimating costs for consumers…

CBS News is reporting that the Obamacare website has added the ability to see price estimates for consumers before having to create an account on the website, however the price estimates provided aren’t even close to being accurate and are often far too low which is very misleading to someone who is shopping for health insurance.

    It begins.

“Obamacare website DRAMATICALLY underestimating costs for consumers”

In pre-Obama terms that means LYING!

In business terms, that’s considered “false advertising” which is a criminal offense.

    False Advertising:
“Any advertising or promotion that misrepresents the nature, characteristics, qualities or geographic origin of goods, services or commercial activities” (Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C.A. § 1125(a)).

But then, criminals are running our government now, so “law” is obsolete.

    • OneThinDime

I bet there is a disclaimer on the website that estimates may not reflect actual.

      • stage9

I’m not so sure they have intellectual forethought for that. They haven’t for much of anything else.

        • OneThinDime

Great point. I don’t want the tracking cookies so I’m not going to venture a looksee.

    • bahamianhoosier

Obama lied about “save $2500” and “if you like…you can keep”?!?! I am shocked!! Shocked I say!!!

  • DizzyMissL

Why do you expect anything different from Prez ShamWow?

From the “You Just Cannot Make This Stuff Up” file……….

Obamacare Tech Firm Tried, Failed to Build Gun Registry in Canada

CGI, the Canadian company whose U.S. subsidiary built the failed Obamacare website, was once contracted to build a federal gun registry for the Canadian government,

CGI’s contract was canceled in 2007 after a report by the Auditor General found that the Canadian Firearms Information System (CFIS) being built by CGI was “significantly over budget” and that it had been plagued by delays.

    • las1

The Canadian government took two steps in this process:

Step number 1. Cancel the contract with CGI.. 2007

Step number 2. Abolish the Gun Registery 2012

Those idiots in Congress need to learn lessons. And instead of those smart asses out there yuk-yuking it up mocking a Canadian firm for ineptitude… they better start praising the Canadian government for the balls to do something America’s Congress isn’t.

America’s Obamacare problems originated with Congress… not an inept foreign firm… just as Canada’s Firearms registry problems originated in Parliament. But it took Parliament to correct it. Will Congress do the same?

The Sun News commentator Brian Lilley’s video in the Breitbart article above from sDee illustrates perfectly the messes government gets itself into. Only too late, after millions are wasted, do they see the light… sort of. Better late than never… but under Obama… it’ll just be never. Why never? Because Obama is sending his minions below decks into the bowels of the brig with wood bores systematically drilling holes to let the water in. Obama, the subversive bastard must be stopped.

    • OneThinDime

There is some thought that the real purpose of CGI is to create the US gun registry based on info from NSA and connect it to someone’s health insurance in the exchange for confiscation. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

  • J.J.

I’m no industry expert, but even I know your age is an important factor when buying insurance. This administration will do anything to try and protect this program and the “Dear Leader.” Have fun with this one Jay Carney. The press is starting to smell blood in the water.

    • las1

Obama desperately needs a distraction. Is there anyone out there who can help him? Is there anyone who can unleash a squirrel before the media lap dogs.

As for these Democrat Media Complex lapdogs… their animal instincts will kick in soon enough… then they will be back to saying things like “my master [Obama] made me this collar… he is A good and smart master… he made me this collar so that I may talk…” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSUXXzN26zg

Art sure does imitate life now doesn’t it?

      • PicklePlants

        Did you say immigration?

        • las1

Yup! Just recycle the distractions and create a crisis around it. Congress must act! I tell you… Congress must act! Newtown was one such example. You will note however, that with each new crisis comes an opportunity to bash those evil Republicans and the Tea Party. How sweet is that!

      • OneThinDime

Well there was a Nevada school shooting the same day and close to his TV ad in the Rose Garden. That didn’t help him much.

        • las1

Good point. I was wondering what happened to a perfect opportunity. We dodged a bullet on that one… no pun intended. Chalk it up to too little time to coordinate when so much else was going on… even for Obama.

          • OneThinDime

And it didn’t fit their narrative. The teacher murdered was an unarmed Marine who should have been carrying because he is TRAINED and CAPABLE of defending.

            • Galatiansch2vs20

I also heard a caller into a radio station I listen to who said their employee had a daughter in the same class as the shooter. He said, if I recall correctly, that the Friday before the Monday of the shooting, the class had shown an anti-bullying film with a bullied person who came in with a gun and shot a bunch of people. That wouldn’t fit their narrative to well either.

It was mentioned by the host that a study has shown that the anti-bullying program, showing bullies has not helped, but rather worsened the bullying problem… demonstrating how to be ‘better’ bullies. So, the bullies hone their skills.

              • OneThinDime

I had not heard that, thank you for sharing. And it makes sense. When you demonstrate the behavior and leaders like Reid, Shumer, Durkin, Obama, WasherBoard, Cutter as well as the MSM demonstrate the bully behavior daily, children will learn and mimic.

                • Galatiansch2vs20

You’re welcome. I think it was on the Savage Nation where a guy named Greg was guest hosting for Dr. Michael Savage.

They likely would find most of those people boring, but the kids are getting indoctrinated in school.

                • OneThinDime

So true. Teachers stomping on flags, screaming at kids wearing a conservative t-shirt or NRA hat demonstrate bullying as well.

    • Kimberly Petrich

The bloody they smell is their own.

      • Galatiansch2vs20

I’m reminded of something gross… the polar bear and the knife. The polar bear cuts its tongue with the blade, tastes blood then keeps licking the blade and winds up bleeding to death.

    • kong1967

Notice they gave the estimate for the lowest age in each group…which would be the cheapest. This was no accident. They’re trying to mislead people so they don’t see the real cost and just turn off the computer.

      • OneThinDime

What they are not showing are the deductibles, the co-pays, the limited number of insurance companies that offer insurance on the private market in their state, the # of doctors in obamacare vs. private market, hospitals included/excluded.

The real shock will be when some idiot tries to obtain health care and is told “that’s not covered but your birth control pills are.”

        • kong1967

Medicare patients wait an average of 22 days longer to see the doctor than people with private health insurance. It’s obvious who the doctors prefer to treat. The ones that actually pay them enough to keep the doors open.

But yeah, people are going to be shocked to see $7,000 deductibles on expensive plans. I’m willing to bet that most young adults (without kids) will give it he middle finger.

          • OneThinDime

Will people even realize what it means, especially those young and healthy that rarely go to the doctor? Heaven help them if they are diagnosed with cancer and find they only receive a 20% discount on drugs and see the true cost of the chemo.

            • kong1967

They’ll have to learn. They better do it quick before the elections, because they aren’t going to like what they learn.

  • imatellau

    Nancy….. Oh, Nancy….. We’ve seen what’s in it dahh-ling…
It’s the enslavement of 300 million PEOPLE!!! Lies all LIES!!!
Slavery! It’s what’s for dinner… Come Getcha some!!!

    • OneThinDime

But this slavery is okay in their minds since it’s slavery of white working people.

  • mediaaccess

..and the people who have voted for Pelosi, Feinstein, Reid,…. for 40 years…? Letting people vote without a stake in their consequences… or something..

    • kong1967

Working people are going to be the minority….very soon.

      • azgirl

Seven out of eight jobs created in the last year are only part-time.

        • kong1967

Yep, and Democrats don’t care becuase it ticks the unemployment figure down anyway. It’s hogwash.

  • NYGino

Oh they think they are so cute, don’t they.

  • kong1967

The fact that the website says the actual cost could be lower but doesn’t mention it could be higher tells me that it’s intentional. Just like Obama STILL going around giving speeches saying how much cheaper your insurance is going to be. They are selectively choosing the lowest age in each group which are the cheapest in the groups.

They’re a bunch of freaking con artists. They are pretty stupid, though. Obama can go around selling crap numbers when people can’t verify them, but these numbers slap people upside the head when they actually get the final quote. No way to slip by with this misleading crap.

    • OneThinDime

Did you notice the video clip is from Organizing for Action? Since when is a sitting president making video ads for his nonprofit org.

      • kong1967

No, I didn’t notice. Obama does what he wants, and he never stops finding unethical or unconstiutional things that he wants.

        • OneThinDime

And the House does NOTHING about it. A sitting president works for the people 24/7/365 not his nonprofit org.

          • kong1967

It is frustrating about nothing being done about it, but there’s nothing Congress can do. It’ll just look like a partisan attack while Reid shuts down any attempt to stop Obama’s reckless behavior. They haven’t tracked any of the serious misconduct directly to Obama because he’s well protected and others take the fall…if you want to call a promotion taking the fall.

That’s irritating as well. Obama implicates himself by blaming someone else, but he not only doesn’t fire them he gives them promotions. Then he demotes those who tried to do the right thing. Gee, can you make it any more obvious that you approve of the misconduct, Obama?

            • OneThinDime

Incorrect. The House can impeach. If nothing else it will bring a halt or slowdown to what Obama and Holder are doing because there will be hearings and the hearings are televised.

              • kong1967

I know, but the Senate convicts and that will never happen no matter how serious the crime. How receptive is the public going to be to impeachment hearings when they are already blaming Congressional Republicans for the gridlock? I don’t know, but trying to impeach Obama could seriously damage our party.

                • OneThinDime

Failure to impeach is damaging the GOP beyond repair. When a potus clearly and intentionally violates the Constitution and nothing is done about it, it shows consent of the illegal behavior.

If the Senate fails to convict, it leaves the door wide open for the next Conservative president to behave the same way and not be impeached. I don’t think this Senate will do that. They may convict on lesser charges but I think they will convict.

                • kong1967

Don’t get me wrong, I want them to impeach the the tyrant whether or not the Senate convicts. I just don’t see the Senate convicting him. You might be right about the Senate convicting on lesser charges, but we have to have evidence that links directly to Obama in order to do it even though we all know where the orders are coming from. He seems to be insulated beyond belief. With so much corruption beneath him, like the IRS and Fast and Furious, in my opinion he should be held responsible no matter what links we find. So much illegality and he just somehow has nothing to do with it, and it didn’t happen under Bush. SOMEONE is directing it, and we know who it is.

  • mikeinidaho

Even the Communist Broadcast System is seemingly turning on the regime.
Too funny. Looks like they will lose their White House pass, if they keep this up.

    • OneThinDime

Well they did wait until after the shutdown to “investigate” so the Dictator got what he wanted, full funding of Obamacare, the debt ceiling lifted and the ability and the right to blame Obamacare on the GOP who voted to fund it.

  • lawngren

The bait on the hook. Only a real Catostomidae will bite.

  • sjmom

The entire administration if full of pathological liars.

    • OneThinDime

IMO that is a requirement to apply for a position with this Administration.

  • Conservator1

I have one question after learning that HHS had beta-tested HealthCare.gov and “it crashed after a simulation in which just a few hundred people tried to log on simultaneously (http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/2013/10/21/161a3500-3a85-11e3-b6a9-da62c264f40e_story.html).

When will McCain, Corker, Alexander, Ayotte, Barrasso and every other Establishment Republican in the Senate and who voted for cloture, which killed every CR passed by the House, apologize to Senators Cruz, Lee, Paul, etc. who knew the horrific ramifications of ObamaCare and how bad it was for Americans? – WHEN?

    • OneThinDime

You are a valued commentator so please DO NOT hold your breath while waiting…

      • Conservator1

Now that put a big grin on my face 🙂 – thank you.

  • klaffner

I have spent 25 years in sales. These guys remind me of the worst sort of chicken s&&t, ill informed, cowardly morons in my trade. They run around scared to engage the prospect or customer on real terms. They don’t have the knowledge or confidence of their product, so they hope against hope that they can find a dope who will buy their product without really understanding the features or in this case even the price. Except in this case, they have the force of law to force people to buy their monstrosity of a product.

  • I’m enjoying this. These MSM idiots spent so much time attacking Ted Cruz. Now that he’s gone from the headlines, the emperor’s clothes have been revealed. The proud man in the White House has made a fool of himself again.

  • B-Funk

Obummercare may fail under its own weight. Excellent!
