[VIDEO] Charles Barkley: If it weren’t for COPS, black neighborhoods would be like the WILD WILD WEST

In an interview the day after the Ferguson verdict, Charles Barkley defended the police by saying that if it weren’t for them, black neighborhoods would be like the “wild wild west.” He added that he hates it when blacks pick out a few incidents that don’t go their way and then generalize about cops by saying they are all bad.

Barkley also went after the Ferguson rioters, calling them scumbags and said there is no excuse for burning down business and police cars.

As far as the verdict, he admitted he hadn’t read the grand jury report but said he wanted to do that, especially after hearing evidence he had never heard before that indicated Michael Brown fought with the officer and then went 20 or more feet toward the officer after being told to stop and get on the ground, and that 3 or 4 black witnesses corroborated Darren Wilson’s story.
