***4:30PM ET SARAH PALIN DELIVERS CPAC KEYNOTE ADDRESS***

CPAC 2012 is going to have some big names speaking this year, including Sarah Palin as the big keynote on Saturday. Here is a list of the speakers and PDF of the schedule so you can keep up with who is speaking and when. We will be posting some of the speeches so if you miss one we may have it later.

Also, this thread will remain on the front page for the duration of CPAC.

UPDATE NOTE: The chat program has been down all day so I removed it from the page. If it begins working again I will re-add it to the page before Sarah Palin’s 4:30PM speech.

EVENT IS NOW OVER

Sorry. The wifi network I’m currently connected to with my notebook must be the problem. I was just able to get it over 3G on my Droid.

Thanks for posting this :) I see Coultergeist will be speaking with today at 11am and the topic (of all things)- The Awakening of the Conservative Woman. I don’t know whether to laugh or puke. If I were Bachmann, I wouldn’t stand too close to that sell out.

    • Anonymous

Anyone attending CPAC2012 please if you see Ann Coulter can you give her a “McFly” for conservatives – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh9PYtmVybU

        HOW’S IT GOIN?JUST A GOOD OL “McFly”ur 2 kind LOL i blocked her&beck

    • http://twitter.com/CeceSurfCityUsa Cecilia Trent

No question on this end. I’m gonna puke. She has lost all credibility. Wouldn’t be surprised if she is booed off the stage.

      • Anonymous

If I knew that was going to happen I would watch for sure!

      • PFFV

I am shocked that CPAC would have her be a speaker after her staunch RINO love affair with Chris (Krispy Creme) Christie and Mittens (Manikin) RomneyCare. I will not listen to Ann anymore, she has gone over to the dark side like Bill O. did years ago.

        • Anonymous

You like your name parodies don’t you. What is the difference between a FAR Right Absolutionist and a FAR Left Absolutionist?? (*Jeopardy theme song playing*). NOTHING!! Both groups get to be so pig headed and full of themselves thay can’t see pass their own hubris. Ann was a darling for years then BAM you turn on her like a snotty child. GROW UP!! The world does not revolve around your opinion. You have to work with others and not just hold your breathe, throw a tantrum and take your toys home.

          • Anonymous

Amen, bmclane! Those slamming Ann are acting EXACTLY like the Far Left. She’s definitely a strong conservative…but she has common sense. She is not a RINO, she is not a sell-out. It’s the RINO’s & these…babies…who ruin it for the Conservatives. I consider myself “far right”. I consider myself a firm conservative. I could not stand McCain, though I voted for him over Obama any day. Coulter does not want Obama re-elected. Just like these people did in 2008 when McCain got in…these babies are going to get Obama re-elected. Ugh!

            • Anonymous

The idea of Romney beating Obama w/o a motivated base is like a man standing in a bucket trying to pull himself up by the handle. Coulter knows this, she has attacked SC, she taunts TPers, ripped on Palin. Some of us have had enough! She even has the audacity to call Romney conservative and Gingrich not.

  • Anonymous

I hope Sarah delivers a “barn burner” with the Indianola speech theme. It will set her apart because no one else has the guts to go there. Rage against the machine. Speak for “we the people”. I hear Romney is renting out the Ford Stadium in Michigan on Feb 24th. Is he going to have Greek pillars? Looking more like Obama is not what he needs. The desperation of the machine will be evident when he mimics Sarah’s speech and falls flat on his empty words. Just like Obama. You can’t put lipstick on a rat.

Even though this thread is about CPAC, the picture is of Sarah Palin. That means that the deranged Palin haters will soon make their ‘puddles’ on the floor and fill their diapers as they express their hate.
Isn’t it amazing how she lives in their tiny little minds and dark souls? Across the ethernet you can smell their fear of her. They would prefer a whining Obama, ( its not my fault!, I inherited this mess!) over someone who simply speaks truth to leftist lies and slander.
Hers is the most recognized name of a female politician in the world and she is held in high regard by many of the worlds leaders as expressed in their own words.
Mr. Obama on the other hand is held in contempt except by just a few. I made a comment on another site that Putin shows his contempt for Obama in every possible way, except for spitting in his face. The former KGB operative recognizes a weakling when he sees one and he sees one in Obama, hence his warnings not to interfere in the middle east.
As Palin, Santorum, Gingrich recieve each recieve more press coverage, the shrill voices of the left become hysterical in their denounciations. Music to my ears, really! That means that we, as advocates of a Constitutional American Republic , are defeating and stopping the lefts march to a marxist America. The more they scream their hatred of conservative leaders, the better we know that we are winning the battle for the soul of America.
We have the Constitution, Declaration, and Bill of Rights as our foundation.
They have Lenin-Marx, and do what they have always done, hate, scream, and squeal like pigs. No ideas, just hate.

    • Garym

And the sad part is that a lot of these hate spewers are supposedly on our side.

      • Anonymous

Gary, hate spewers can be found in every walk of life. If hate is the way used to communicate, they can’t possibly be on our side, regardless of how they identify themselves. Some folks are just bitter enough to curse a sunny day! Logic and reason are not a big part of their makeup. When God resides in a persons heart and soul, hate flees. When hate resides in a persons heart and soul, it’s a safe bet they don’t really know or understand God, my friend.

        • Anonymous

That’s right, but “strongly detesting” someone is allowed ;)

Geez, MJ, you crack me up! “Strong detesting?” LOLOLOLOLOL

Thomas Sowell had a good article today about all the negativity keeping voters home. It’s a point that we should all take note of.

              thanks!

            • Anonymous

Just wanted to say i finally read the article..and it raises a lot of good points. I hope Newt(my choice) goes out in the next few weeks and focuses on the big picture. I hope his CPAC speech will be as inspiring and informative as he usually delivers.

        • ApplePie101

I’m sorry, but if an American citizen has so little value for the vote that generations of Americans have shed blood, sweat and tears for that he’d let ‘negativity’ scare him away from the polls, he doesn’t deserve the right to vote. It would take machine guns to keep me away, especially this year.

          • Anonymous

I agree with you, but I believe it’s disenchantment and not fear that keeps them away. I have never understood why any person would stay away from the polls, but they do, in droves, every election (and then complain when things go downhill).

            • Anonymous

Well, they’ll soon find out what/where Greece is if they don’t get off their butts and get active in their communities, cities and states.

              • Anonymous

Yep, they’ll find out, but they won’t know why.

        • Anonymous

I wish he was younger and would make a run for POTUS! I adore him!

      • Anonymous

Sometimes we forget to look at the big picture, that of restoring the Constitutional Republic. We get so focused on one candidate that our emotions run wild and reason and logic get lost.
When we lower ourselves to the level of marxists ( the sewer ) to make our point for our candidate, how are we any better then they?
Pointing out our candidates good points and accomplishments is the way to make a point. Hurling insults and slander isn’t. Remember that most supporters will use the tactics their candidate uses.
That speaks volumes about the candidate, wouldn’t you agree?!

        • Anonymous

          Indeed, I do agree.

        • Anonymous

          Yes, and no.

Bottom line is that keeping the status quo in the GOP is not acceptable and the GOP will be on its way out as a party should they nominate Romney. He will not only lose, but a third party is not only feasible, it will supported by Conservative Dems and Republicans/Conservatives.

It is better to lose if we have a nominee like Romney. We can increase numbers in the House and the Senate, we can remove Obama from office, we can rally, riot and protest, we can refuse to comply with laws in large swaths, etc. What we cannot tolerate are more John Boehner Republicans from infesting the GOP. Change from within has not worked and will not worked.

We either receive a Conservative nominee or we reject the establishments candidate by sending them home in November.

          • Anonymous

RP is what the conservative that dems apparently want. It is about time that Americans abandon the two party dictatorship. This primary will be my last time voting in them. Not many people agree with the idea of it being better if Obama wins, rather than a Romney type, but I do. Apparently Americans are not going to wake up until they feel some real pain. It has started, but has a long way to go.

    • Anonymous

I totally respect Sarah’s decision to not get in the race for president, but our struggling nation desperately needs this exceptional, courageous woman!

    • PFFV

There is no question Obama is viewed by the world (and by us) as a man-child President that is weak in every way imaginable. The USA has lost its longtime standing in the world as a nation of ‘Peace Through Strength’. All of our enemies see this and are rejoicing as well as laughing at us for putting such a coward in charge.

How very true, my friend! We have become a laughingstock in the world simply because of the simpleton elected to be president! Elections DO have consiquence, as we have discovered to our embarresment!

Where are Allen West, Newt Gingrich and Robert Spencer of http://www.jihadwatch.com during this so called “debate”!? Almost 1400 years of recorded history and these dumb arguments are being made to empower muslims in the Middle East as many suffer! Those of us raised in the Middle East KNOW what is going on in the Middle East! It’s not Arab “Spring” but the slow rising of the islamic caliphate!

LIBERALS have taken over the GOP when it comes to islamic inspired terrorism! I can’t believe I am hearing this garbage AT CPAC! Syrian Christians I talk to, are telling us that the islamic powers wanting to take over Syria are a much greater danger to their lives than even current Asad problems. We continue to make the dumbest strategic moves AFTER 9/11 that will result in many thousands of terrorist attacks! ISLAMIC “reform” is ALWAYS AGAINST NONMUSLIMS!

  • http://twitter.com/ServantCEO Anthony

GRANT FREEDOM TO EVIL under “democracy” and you simply have an empowered evil! We wiped out Nationalist socialists (NAZIS) in a few years with great sacrifices AFTER it was empowered. If only we would have taken out Adolf Hitler 10 years before he rose to power ! By God’s Grace and Ronald Reagan’s strength and vision, even USSR socialists were wiped out of power in just a few years. Until we have someone with a similar vision regarding the need to wipe out the inspiration of terrorism as found in qur’an, hadith and sunna, we will one day wake up with an islamic caliphate empowered with nuclear, biological and chemical weapons and they will NOT have any controls in place to stop them from using them against nonmuslims!

Another great Perry speech, and no teleprompter. Everyone in the room was on their feet. I believe he is the real deal, and we missed the best chance to beat B.O. and get our country back. There are many of us praying for a miracle to get Perry back in the race, and ready to go to work. A new website has been created toward this end. It’s a real fledgling at this point, but who knows. If anyone has interest, you will find it at http://www.teaandfedup.wordpress.com . I strongly believe that none of present candidates can beat O.B. , much less lead our country in the right direction.

      • StNikao

Upon investigation, Bad Blue is pushing the ‘gay’ normalization social agenda and seems to cater to its sponsors, in a stealth way: Advertisers, sponsors get headlines.

Social conservatives need a more conservative site.

Conservatives need a Judeo-Christian-based version of Drudge – without ads, overt or covert, (and does not have all the buxom cleavage ads – thanks Right Scoop – that lead men’s eyes astray and embarrass women) and a site that works on Biblical principle – not – principal and not political or social agenda.

We have had several decades where political/social agenda has trumped, distorted, silenced, counterfeited science, statistics, reason, facts, evidence, and Scripture.

People have been bullied, shamed, propagandized, pressured, accused, threatened (all the Alinsky tactics) taxed, fired, vandalized, etc. to push unhealthy, unhappy, unholy lifestyles and acts that create emotional, relational, societal chaos as well as negative and economically destructive and expensive outcomes.

We have been pressured into believing and living by lies dished out by the paid media, the Democrats, the Liberals, Palestinians, the Islamists, the sexual libertine LBGTQ and abortion groups, the environmentalist groups, the green/global warming groups, global economy groups, the socialists, the economy groups, etc. and even parts of the Church. All liars, all pretenders.

Newt has given us the courage to say – “Stop with the absurdities and the lies, you don’t have a case for your agendas.”

What’s more, he’s given the other candidates the courage to speak out.

Newt has also given the conservative and Christian voters encouragement – the courage to speak, think, believe and vote on the basis of their conscience not the toxic deceptive static they hear on the internet and airwaves.

We now have the guts to say,
Don’t Tread on Me and Victory or Death: http://www.newt.org/news/video-christmas-day-1776-victory-or-death

Michele Bachmann has also been a heroine in this process toward restoration of honor, trust and sanity to our government.

It was Michele Bachmann who gathered thousands of Tea Party groups to Washington to speak out and speak to their representatives in the Senate and House. She encouraged them to meet, speak out and work all over the US, starting a movement that gained Conservatives a majority in the House.

Bachmann had the courage and resolve to run for President and she articulated well Conservative principles tirelessly, graciously and courageously throughout her campaign.

She has given a lot to remind Americans of the principles: Faith, the Gospel of truth, love and life, love of country, honor, virtue, dedication, sacrifice, freedom and peace that made our country great.

No matter how much we help Europe…they seem to always find a way to twist it around as a reason to hate us.

Sounds like the rest of the world. They hate us, but love our money and technology that they end up using against us.

      • Anonymous

You know what I really liked about him? That he is right that we are making our children into little princes and princesses that are never going to be prepared for the real world because we coddle them. I guess, since I was raised on the scary monkey bars, and being swatted for being mouthy, and told that I was not entitled to anything..I really responded to that. It made me want to phone my parents and say thanks for raising me so that I always knew that whatever I wanted I had to earn. But you are right about personal taste..I never liked Seinfeld, even when it was uncool not to.

Reading thru the comments this evening, can I tell you that I notice that conservatism is in full throat! The marxist hear you and and are quaking in their boots! They thought we were sheep and instead ran head on into hunting lions.
That smell of urine is theirs, as they quake in fear of what they have awakened with their overt march into socialism!
This aged warrior LOVES the smell of fear on those pantywaists! Regardless of who wins the presidency, the rise of marxism is over, and the cowardly devotees of socialism now knows this!
Never back up! No compromise! No quarter, and no mercy can ever be shown to those who would inslave us with socialism! Don’t just defeat them, destroy them, with the truth of the Declaration, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights!
This journey back to a Constitutional American Republic has begun. Vets and active duty service men and women, remember your oath! We avowed our very lives to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic! All freedom and liberty loving Americans are called into service. The marxists are now in retreat and are totally bewildered as to this rise of Constitutional Patriotism.
Shoot me if you must, but Obama FINALLY did something right for this nation that we love! His in your face overreach into our lives, our freedom and our churchs’ created a ground swell of patriotism he could never invision. The TRUE giant, the American citizen, finally woke up in vast and unified numbers, and awoke very, very pissed!
An angry America has always made the world tremble with fear!
This time, the fear is in the marxists who would rule us as a totalitarian and elitest regime, dem and repub alike.
They are right to fear the wrath of the AMERICAN CITIZEN!

My dear friend, we ARE neighbors here on the RS! As weird as it may sound, I speak this way in any and every conversation I engage in! Most folks already know in their hearts the words and visions I try to invoke, but perhaps they’ve never heard them spoken aloud. We can reach many thousands more people using the service provided by the Right Scoop then we ever could thru a local paper!
I’ve read YOUR comments, ISC. You are every bit as eloquent as anyone I know!
On a daily basis, the readership of the Scoop grows in leaps and bounds. Your thoughts carry every bit as much weight as mine and perhaps more! The goal is to spread Constitutional Conservative views far and wide.
I have posted to newspapers, mags and such. The value my friend lies in the NUMBER of people posting and not just one voice. One voice is but a cry in the wilderness. A multitude of voices is a movement towards reclaiming our Constitutional rights and freedoms!
I would love to sit and have coffee with you! It is my fondest desire to meet as many of our fellow commenters as possible. Perhaps one day soon……….?

  • Anonymous

It’s obvious to us the base is not happy with ANY of the candidates. The longer this goes on the more that sentiment is revealed. As Pat Caddell said to Erick Erickson, if his party was in our position and after 8 primaries they had three winners and no one rising to the top, they’d look for a new candidate. In that vein, let us give you a winning team; Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio.

    • Anonymous

I posted this on the Marco Rubio CPAC speech thread, but I’ll put it here too:

After Ron Paul stops Mitt Romney from getting the nomination on the first ballot, how about Rand Paul and Marco Rubio form a ticket, with Ron Paul agreeing to serve as Rand’s Secretary of the Treasury. I believe this is the only person Ron would agree to serve at Treasury, because he knows Rand desires real fiscal restraint and cuts in spending(not just reductions in the rate of increased spending like the others).

As for Mitt Romney…well, he can go give a nice keynote speech at the Democratic Convention in Charlotte. :)

Probably the only good line of the entire speech. There seemed to be several bombs that went over badly (silence isn’t a very good response to a joke).

Is it just me…or did Ann Coulter seem a bit uncomfortable at the beginning? I think she knows she has stepped in it big time for many of us and now her prediction of Romney is looking as off base as her prediction about Christie last year.

    • Anonymous

I agree she may think that she ‘stepped in it’, but her opinions didn’t change. She just doesn’t understand why us lesser plebes don’t get it. Many of her jokes were funny only to her and she paused in the silence for her own internal laughter to die down before moving on to the next ‘gem’.

      • http://twitter.com/PJRodman Paula J Rodman

You nailed it…the sense of uncomfortable was because she didn’t get automatic adulation and applause which threw her off schtick.

Romney said he believes government is not there to make decisions for private citizens and enterprises. Does that include mandating the compensation business pay employees via an indexed minimum wage?

This is why I can’t trust this guy. He states a principle and policy which are at odds with one another. Who is he?

    Mittens: “I will eliminate Obamacare.”

This is where he fails as a candidate. Obama can make the case that he’s a lot like him. He can’t say that of Santorum.

    • Amy

This is my main problem with Romney… He signed into law a piece of legislation that was a precursor for Obamacare. Why the h— am I supposed to believe he’ll repeal it on a national level? He just doesn’t have my confidence on this. Especially when one of his ‘aides/advisors’ comes out and outright says that Romeny won’t repeal it but rather will try to fix it…

CSPAN1 has set aside a 2 hour block on Saturday, by far the largest time slot of the weekend, for just one speaker, for Sarah Palin! They will carry her speech live starting at 4:30pm.
I’ve watched quite a few of the various speakers. Many gave a pretty fair accounting but to generally polite applause. There were a few rousing rounds of applause but not as many as I would have hoped for.
It will be very interesting to see how Palins speech and the crowds reaction to it will contrast will all of the previous speakers.

Mrs. Duggar (can’t remember her name, sorry) is an amazing example of a Godly woman. She is grace, love and a beauty rolled into one – a Proverbs 31 woman after God’s heart.

And while I don’t know much about Star Parker – she rocks too ;-)

    • Anonymous

I know, she is the real deal.

  • Anonymous

The View woman said Conservative would increase taxes on the poor. She, like Obama, is a practice liar. Romney the rat did not say he would increase tax on the poor, he indicated that taxes will be paid by all wage earners.

Wouldn’t it be nice for the working poor living in the same neighborhoods and even next door to the poor reclining in the safety net and popping kids out with regularity, are paying taxes? I don’t recall that poor wage earners were quite so liberal with their tax dollars.

These are beautiful minds and terrific speakers, Cupp seemed a little non-plussed there being no men on stage, but the rest of these people, conservative women, are remarkable.

    • Amy

I loves Starr Parker’s remark that Romney’s liberal now and we have to pull him to the conservative side. :-) Calling it like it is… That’s Starr’s specialty.

Amy, I’m glad someone had the courage to call Romney out for his liberal policies. It takes a strong person to do that. That said, I don’t think he can be pulled into being a conservative. IMHO, it’s in his DNA to be a liberal. George Romney was a Progressive, so is Mitt.

        • Amy

I agree with you actually…. I don’t think he’s too much different than the atrocity in office.

For the most part, the folks at CPAC seem kinda mellow, when they ought to be loud and involved with the various speakers!
I’ll bet the more vocal members of the audience are Palinistas! And Right Scoopers!

NEWT GINGRICH is a COMMANDER IN CHIEF – THIS MAN CARES desperately ABOUT AMERICA, enough to face the criticism and shame of his past sins. He has the qualifications, intelligence and experience to fix what is wrong.

He has the courage to fight all the PC and liberal agenda and he’s not afraid to tell the truth whatever the reaction.

He is the only candidate who talks about stabilizing our currency to protect it from manipulations by Soros and others and reforming and limiting the Federal Reserve.
    And abolishing the EPA.

He is the only candidate who talks about reforming the Washington establishment.

Where is he on term limits, insider trading, etc.?

    • Anonymous

He put the ‘now lets not tip the boat’ establishment to shame! He may have been inside Washington, but he was fighting them the whole time. Not one of the men running has his accomplishments or his teflon coating..that is what is needed. Someone who can fight against the ingrained, big spending, thinks they know better elite jerks in both parties!

  • Anonymous

Sigh, Newt still has the mojo..could more policy be jammed in one speech?! More ideas, more solutions? No one can match his skills, his determination…he will rise again!

    • Anonymous

Too much in the weeds if you ask me. Too much wonk talk. It loses people. He is a VERY important voice for the Conservative movement, but I don’t think he is the best choice at this point in time. Still if he does overtake Santorum in the end I can vote for him. He’s just not my first choice for the Executive position.

    • Anonymous

90% of what has been thrown at him has already been debunked. Whatever else they try to create, he and we are ready to retaliate with facts, not smears.

      • Anonymous

Exactly! Besides Santorum is just being properly vetted now, and he will have to deal with the over-the-top smears from Romney too. Newt has proved to be biblical in his ability to rise again. Without money, without the media’s help, without anything but his ideas, his policy, his proper articulation of conservative values. He never was one to go along to get along…..

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Santorum can slam Romney on Cap-n-Trade, crush him on TARP, b-slap him around with individual mandate n romneycare… I agree with all the good things you said about Newt but he needs to destroy Romney, like they tried to do him, but it seems some of Newt’s stances on some of the issues have handicapped him..

          • Anonymous

I get what you see Steven. I don’t understand why many RINOs , Fox and the Media at large called out Newt for going after Romney and his false attack with all Romneys’ huge spending on ads on Newt.
At the beginning Newt attempted positive campaign, Take no time for Romney to attack with false ads. Many including myself look for Newt to remove his cloves. Newt tried in a more civil way by asking Romney to disown or remove those ads, Romney denied. Exactly the way Romney attacked Huckabee and MaCain in 2008.
When Newt started attacking Romney, many whined and screamed at Newt to stop the the negative campaign and the attack on capitalism.Including many of my beloved talk show host, Rush, Levin, Beck, Hannity & Fox, even the establishments in the tank with Romney, all directed their cannons at Newt.Certainly I did not agree with them calling out Newt that hes’ gone way far too negative and against Capitalism.I read it as in Bain as some of those deals are predatory capitalism, absolutely legal, as in ABORTION ! Those were not my problem, Newt lost me when he is so capable of controlling a great come back debate as we’ve seen and I learn and marvel at the same time from him with great amazement and hope. Seeing that we at times may got slapped around , knocked down, we SHALL manage to RISE back UP.
After Newt’s big win in SC,with excellent SHUT DOWN of the moderator (MEDIA), following debate, Newt allowed himself to get slapped around by the CNN moderator by demanding Newt to answer his question, oh how I so waited anticipated on Newt to tell him and all the trigger happy media to SHUT THEIR PIE HOLE, and not answer their set up question upon the candidates so they can focus on fighting each others and avoid Obama and congress. I felt awkward and pissed. I know I trust Newt to go to war with even in the front line. If I may add , Newt, next round in battle, don’t leave a wounded enemy alive, he may recuperate, revive and gain strength, and look for you, and may find him serving you a brutal ARSE wooping .
I don’t doubt a bit that Newt is a great closer, bitty, we all get slop at time. STILL !

            Newt / West – 2012

I like the optimism Nuke, but Newt has been unable to prove he can withstand it… if he can’t against Romney, how can he against Obama? Now i’ll take Newt vs Obama over Romney vs Obama, but I gotta say, the way Santorum has been handling the attacks by Romney and Trump have been great, he takes them head on and throws it back in the faces, it does give me confidence he can do the same thing to Obama, it’s winning me over, I’m not against Newt, I am against Romney, Give me Newt or Rick and I’ll be happy with out nominee.

        • Amy

I will too, but they will try their nasty bag of tricks no matter who we nominate. Even if Romney ends up the nominee… (shuddering)

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Yeah Romney has been testing those nasty bag of tricks on Newt and Santorum

        • Anonymous

Steven, Santorum is just getting the attacks now. Do you remember how Newt withstood them for the first few days? Then came 40 mill of attack ads over three states…how can anyone withstand that?? Especially when you don’t have the money to counter-act them? I don’t think that is a fair assesment. Besides, people are now calling Santorum angry and jerky(I read the comments underneath a Townhall article) in his retaliation to Romney’s atacks..fair? Hell no, but par for the course.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

An angry Newt didn’t bring Newt down in the polls in my opinion.. it’s how he responded against the attacks, instead of taking it head on he, deferred people to his website(bad move), then he just complained how bad a liar Romney is(it made him sound petty), he needed to slam Romney back and harder on Mitt’s record, like Santorum is doing to Romney right now. We’ll continue to see how Santorum does with the attacks but so far he’s been doing great, and I hope he can prove he handle the pressure, if he can take out Romney, he’s more than capable of taking out Obama

            • K-Bob

I’m not sure how you see Newt as not taking Romney head on. He most definitely has done so. Santorum had one good outing regarding Romneycare in one debate. He was ready with the material, and he caught Romney unprepared. In that same debate Newt levelled an attack, but Romney was prepared for it, and that caused Newt to struggle.

I thought Santorum’s attack was excellent, but it doesn’t mean he’s the only one taking Romney head on. Newt came right out the next day, and in the “press conference” openly called Romney a liar. (For his trouble, a lot of supposed Conservatives have claimed that to be “whining.” Go figure.)

              • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

How bout this newt’s counter-punch was ineffective? But a Florida debate, after an onslaught of attacks by Romney, when he had a chance to clear the record he referred people to go to his website to me that wasn’t taking Romney head on.

                • Anonymous

I agree that it looks bad to say ‘go to my website’, but if you saw the debates about the smears right here on TRS, you would remember that they covered a lot of large posts. So much bad stuff was thrown that it takes a lot to respond and sometime saying go to my website can cover it. I agree, though, it looks bad. It’s kind of a lose-lose proposition.

                • K-Bob

As I wrote, in that one instance, Romney caught him off guard. He’s been hitting Romney hard ever since.

Also, now that Romney is forced to focus on Santorum, it means Newt’s hitting will have more effect.

All three of these guys have a constituency that will keep them in the race.

            • Anonymous

              I guess time will tell…

        • Anonymous

Santorum hasn’t gotten the treatment Newt has gotten so far, because he was far back in the polls. Now he is surging and we will see how he handles the smears of Romney.

I don’t see much difference in the smears of Romney and the smears of Obama. They fight about the same.

Either Rick or Newt would suit me fine. The difference I see is Newt’s fire. Hopefully, Rick can find that fire and excite a lot of people.

What I do see is we may make it to a brokered convention and then be able to kick Romney out, no matter how much money he has.

    • Amy

They are going to negatively campaign against anyone nominated by the Republicans. They are going to be vicious, under handed, and they are going to outright lie about whomever we nominate as a Republican. It’s just a fact. I’m not going to let it deter me from voting for the one who best matches my ideals & priniciples.

      I’M NOT TAKING IT ANYMORE!!!

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

I agree they going to bring a negative campaign, but watching who can handle it the best so far it seems to be Santorum for me.

        • Anonymous

You’re kidding, right? Santorum hasn’t experienced the negative ads yet. All he’s done is taken advantage of the food fight between Mitt & Newt. It’s pretty easy when you’re out of the line of fire.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Nope, not kidding, you are right, Santorum hasn’t experienced the negative ad flood, but I noticed how Newt responded against the attacks after his BIG win in South Carolina, in the Florida debates, Newt had an opportunity to slam it back in Romney’s face but he didn’t do it. After Santorum’s BIG Sweep the Romney campaign tried to attack him but Rick threw it back in Romney face, Romney wants to bring up earmarks, Santorum can bring up TARP, Tarp is way more toxic than earmarks.

We thought, at one time of moving to Australia- we had two amazing vacations there. Nukeman, we found at least for us, its better in theory.

Its so awesome to visit. We went in 2008 and 2010. In 2008 we combined with New Zealand. ( In 2010 we saw AC DC at an amazing show (with 70,000 other fans.) On the way back to the hotel we got into an incredible discussion with the cab driver who was conservative and he told us all the bad points. We were blown away to find out they didnt have a Bill of Rights. That was the deal breaker.

This has been fun for the last two days. When CPAC comes to a close tomorrow, we will be heading back into the primaries. Each and every one of us has to delve deeply into the policies and platforms of the four candidates running, in order to determine who we want to be our own personal choice. Their speeches here at CPAC, though, have brought out the differences and highlights of the candidates themselves. They showed:

Newt Gingrich – fiery and full of ideas

Rick Santorum – great family values and solid beliefs, but rather subdued

Mitt Romney – pretty much whiny

Ron Paul – pretty much nonexistent

Tomorrow, Sarah Palin gives the final speech. I’m anxious to see what she has to say. I know she won’t hold anything back. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I predict a possible endorsement here and it could ignite the rest of the primary campaign.

And that’s no slam against Gov. Palin. Hannan will be able to tell us what we have in store because of the path we’re on as a country, and he’ll be able to relate to it with facts about Europe that few Americans could express so well.

  • Is_Sense_Common

Scoop, I hope you’ll post this speech in its entirety. I’ve never heard him before but he’s blown me away! I think it’s Daniel Hannan – is that right? (British guy)

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

You should look him up on youtube there are great clips of him on there, that’s what I did when I first learned about him a couple of years ago =)

    • Anonymous

I’ve heard Daniel Hannan many, many times before. Perhaps he will help us petition for the bust of Winston Churchill back, after Obama is out of the White House. Hannan is one of our greatest allies and I hope we never, ever turn from him.

How irrelevant is Sarah Palin? She is so irrelevant that people mobbed her as she moved thru the hotel. She’s so irrelevant that the ball room where she’ll speak is full and the hallways are lined with people trying to get in. She’s so irrelevant that journos fell all over themselves to get close enough just to ask her a question. She’s so irrelevant that CPAC just announced they are opening three overflow rooms for Palin’s speech.

Holder should be in a 3×5 solitary confinement cell.

Here is a short video from Smart Girl Politics where palin favorably addresses the issue of a brokered convention. While you are watching, notice the giant sized and fit young men who are a part of her security detail. They are just a few of the many keeping her safe.

I don’t care what this straw poll says, this doesn’t give Romney conservative cred.

    Woohoo Sarah Palin!

  • Anonymous

The establishment hacks masquerading as conservatives are out in droves at CPAC. 44% were students which means that you have a vast amount of skulls full of mush. Finally, you have a reliable straw poll that was won by Ron Paul last year? Such bullsh*t.

There used to be a commercial in the 1960’s sponsored by the United Women’s Garment Workers Union. The commercial contained a song…”Don’t forget the union label”. I guess Obama must have seen this commercial and taken it to heart.
