Facebook has released a new video explaining how they plan to deal with ‘fake news’, buy giving the user more of a voice to call something fake using what they call ‘independent fact checkers’.

Of course as soon as I read ‘independent fact checkers’, I laughed. I mean sometimes they get it right, but sometimes they don’t. And most of the time they don’t seem all that independent to me. But liberals have a different definition of ‘independent’ than conservatives.
Also, I’m sure a whole crop of independent fact checker websites will crop up after this as their status just got elevated.
Either way, I worry this will lead to abuses of conservative news from people who simply want to mark it as fake news because they disagree with it. After all, even Facebook isn’t known for employing the most independent-minded people after all.
