WATCH: Rand Paul says new ‘Obamacare lite’ bill is a BAILOUT for the insurance companies

Rand Paul is very happy Trump tweeted this morning that the new Obamacare replacement bill is out and ready for negotiation, because he says the current bill is going to need it:

We already know Paul isn’t a big fan of the subsidies, but he also says that it keeps the Obamacare taxes for another year, it keeps the cadillac tax forever and that it keeps the individual mandate.

With respect to the latter, Paul says the individual mandate penalty isn’t paid to the government, but rather to the insurance companies – which he says is unconstitutional and could destroy the repeal plan. He describes the Obamacare lite mandate saying that if you have an insurance plan and you drop it, and then want to buy it again, you have to pay a penalty to the insurance companies.

Paul says most of the bill is a bailout for the insurance companies and it won’t lower prices and doesn’t give the power back to the consumer.

Here’s Trump’s tweet on this today:

Um, I didn’t know there was a phase 2 & 3 of the rollout. I’m not even sure what that means with respect to getting rid of state lines.
