Ron DeSantis, who is running for governor of Florida, just released an ad that has some Republican voters both insulted and outraged.

I have to say this was not my take at all. When I first watched the ad, I thought it was clever. To me, DeSantis was poking fun at himself and perhaps his critics for making him all about Trump, when he’s really a lot more than that.
In other words, I didn’t take it seriously at all. I thought it was an intentional effort to be funny in a mocking sort of way because it was so over the top.
But from many of the comments I’m seeing on Twitter and on Youtube, that humor was lost on viewers.
