WATCH: Rudy Giuliani on Fox and Friends explains the Trump/Stormy payments…

Rudy Giuliani went into more detail on Fox and Friends this morning on the Stormy Daniels payment happened. The interview starts with discussion about Mueller, but just after the four minute mark they switch to Trump’s tweets about Stormy Daniels payment:

Rudy says that Trump didn’t know the details of the payments until his attorneys found out about it, just 10 days ago. Wow, that seems very hard to believe. But he goes on to say that $130k is not a lot of money when your putting 100 million into your campaign.

Giuliani also says emphatically that Cohen WAS reimbursed for the payment, despite Cohen saying before that he was never paid back.

He then explains why Cohen made the payment, and suggests it was simply to make the false accusations go away for the benefit of the family. Giuliani says that Trump and Melania had been personally hurt by the accusations, and that Cohen simply wanted to make them go away, that he as being a good lawyer and a good man. He said it was to save their reputations.

But Rudy also says a few minutes later, after defending the payment as non-campaign related, to “imagine if that came out on October 15, 2016 in the middle of the last debate with Hillary Clinton”? He said Cohen simply didn’t even ask and just made it go away.
