WATCH: Ted Cruz goes ROUNDS with the media on the 2013 government shutdown!

The media caught up with Ted Cruz and then essentially accused him of hypocrisy as he was describing how the Democrat were holding the government hostage. That turned into a back and forth where Cruz had to correct the media on what actually happened during the government shutdown of 2013.

Ted Cruz is correct. Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats refused in 2013 to negotiate with the House after Republicans passed a bill that defunded Obamacare. The House sent over several bills, each one pulling back from their initial demands on Obamacare. The final bill, I believe, simply called for a one year delay on the Individual Mandate. But Reid wouldn’t negotiate one iota and never allowed the Senate to take up any of the bills. It was his way or the highway, which is why the government shutdown happened.

And that’s the same thing that has been happening here. The Senate Dems have had a ‘my way or the highway’ stance which caused the government shutdown. They refused to budge on anything:
