Ted Cruz says this election is not about pledging loyalty to one person. Nor, he says, is any one political candidate going to make America great again. Rather, Cruz says this election is about ‘we the people’ and he points out that the people are only ones who can actually make America great again.
Cruz also notes that he gladly raises his right hand to pledge an oath to the people, not the other way around.
As Cruz suggests, we’ve had seven years of a president who operates as though he’s a dictator or emperor. This presidency wasn’t made to operate that way and we need a president who not only respects the office but reveres it, along with the Constitution, which alone grants the office of the presidency its very powers.
