White House asked about Obama touting Yemen as a model of SUCCESS

The White House today was asked about Obama’s comment that Yemen is a model of success against ISIS…and as you might imagine they stood by it:

Just four months after Obama tried to sell Yemen as a model of success, it was overrun by Houthi terrorists. And now it’s on the verge of a civil war, according to the UN’s special envoy to Yemen:

The Yemeni foreign minister is asking several Gulf Arab neighbors for military intervention to stop territorial advances by Houthi fighters in his embattled country, after the U.N. special envoy for Yemen warned the U.N. Security Council that events appear to be leading the country “to the edge of civil war.”

Iran is certainly behind what is going on in Yemen, as they are supporting the Shiite Houthi rebels. The State Department was asked today, considering that the US is very much against the Houthi’s taking over in Yemen, if this would come up in the negotiation talks with Iran. According to spokeswoman Marie Harf, Kerry probably won’t bring it up:
