Wow. It doesn’t look like Democrats are going to get any help from Obama and the White House in attacking Comey. In this first clip, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says he won’t defend or criticize Comey for reopening the investigation:

In this second clip, Earnest goes as far as to say Obama does NOT believe Comey is intentionally trying to influence the outcome of the election, saying that Comey is in a tough spot:

That sounds a lot like a defense of Comey, even if the White House doesn’t want to call it that. I have to admit though, I didn’t expect this reaction from the White House.
I’m sure this will enrage Democrats who were hoping to have the White House on their side.
