Fox News is reporting that Rick Perry will turn himself in and subject himself to fingerprinting and a mug shot, though he is not subject to arrest:
FOX NEWS – Texas Gov. Rick Perry plans to turn himself in to authorities Tuesday evening at a local Texas jail on the heels of his indictment for alleged abuse of power, a member of the governor’s legal team told Fox News.
The governor is expected to be processed quickly and to leave. He is not subject to an arrest warrant.
However, Fox News has learned Perry will have his mugshot and fingerprints taken during the booking. He plans to arrive at the Travis County justice complex in Austin at about 6 p.m. ET.
This comes after Perry began assembling a high-powered legal team to defend him in the case, which Perry and his allies argue is politically motivated.
Perry is facing charges of coercion and official oppression that carry a maximum sentence of 109 years in prison.
