After even some conservatives shrunk back from supporting the president on his morning tweet, you’d think he might have backed off on this idiotic assertion, but nope.
He just doubled down on gov’t censorship of the press:
Network news has become so partisan, distorted and fake that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked. Not fair to public!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 12, 2017
This is something NO right-minded Constitution-loving conservative should support. Yes, the media is biased – and we have the freedom through the internet to point it out as a corrective measure. But for him to advocate that they be silenced through the power of the government is very very dangerous.
And it’s absurd to believe that all his problems are because of the press – we keep hearing that he’s so brilliant he can reach the American people despite the media bias. Well then, why does he need to shut them down?
Just to note again, the TV networks do not have licenses that can be challenged or revoked https://t.co/mHuS6kbgSB

Just like every other threat Trump makes, he will never follow through on this, bit it's still indefensible to say as president. https://t.co/1aUNCtg72G

He thinks all media outlets have permits from the government doesn’t he https://t.co/oO56QFffC9

If Obama had talked about revoking Fox's "licenses" lot of people cheering on Trump would be buying guns and screaming about FEMA camps.

This isn’t making America great, this is making America a despotic state. That’s right. I said it. While we still can.
