Congressman and former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor (VA-R) went rounds and rounds with CNN this morning over the fact that he believes they are falling right into Trump’s traps by obsession over his tweets lately. Taylor tells CNN that they are getting played by Trump and that sets off a five minute debate about the topic.

Taylor readily admits that Trump shouldn’t be tweeting these antagonistic tweets, but also tells CNN that they shouldn’t be obsessing over every tweet non-stop all day long, leaving most important other news uncovered.
He challenges CNN and the greater media to cover real news as opposed to just Trump’s mean tweets.
I don’t disagree with Taylor, but I’m not sure this ‘game’ is really worse for CNN and the MSM. While it may not make CNN and the MSM look very good to constantly focus on this, it also doesn’t make the president look good for trying to spin up the media like this.
And at the end of the day only one is held accountable electorally. In 2020 CNN will still be here, while Trump may be voted out by people sick of this nonsense. Who will be getting ‘played’ when that happens?
