You know enrollment numbers for Obamacare must be super weak if Carney is dodging like this…

Today Carney was pressed by ABC’s Jonathan Karl on the enrollment numbers for Obamacare after the first week. Most of the administration has played dumb up to this point, saying they don’t have those numbers. But now the Obama administration has come up with a solution so they don’t have to keep evading these questions on enrollment numbers. Carney said that the administration won’t be announcing enrollment numbers for Obamacare on the fly, but rather on a monthly basis…because it’s an ‘aggregation process’ or something.

Karl then asked the next logical question, that Carney’s able to give traffic counts for how many have visited the Obamacare website but not the number of people who’ve enrolled? Carney responded that they’ve only released traffic numbers to explain the website ‘glitches’. Yeah, uh huh. It’s really a way for them to claim that millions want to sign up without having give the actual number.

You know these enrollment numbers must be extremely low or they would be touting them as the success of the law. And the fact that they are going to wait a few more weeks to announce any enrollment numbers..yeah it’s really low.

In fact, WSJ has released a report tonight citing numbers from insurers on the exchanges, saying only ‘hundreds‘ have actually signed up for Obamacare per company:

So far, Web-traffic problems are allowing only a small trickle of buyers, said John Gorman, chief executive of Gorman Health Group, an insurance-industry consulting firm with clients selling policies on the exchanges.

Large insurers have seen enrollment figures totaling in the hundreds each, said Sumit Nijhawan, chief executive of Infogix Inc., a data-integrity firm that works with such insurers as WellPoint Inc., Aetna Inc. and Cigna Corp.

So far, many tens of thousands of people had started the application process but the number of those who were able to create accounts and shop for coverage is likely in the low thousands, according to people with knowledge of the situation and estimates by insurance-industry advisers.

The administration has declined to say the total number of enrollees.
