2020 Democrat says gay marriage is ‘conservative’ and moves him CLOSER to God!

Sometimes it breaks my heart just how broken this world has become and how so many things have been flipped completely around. Immoral things are called moral and evil things are called virtuous and ascribed to God himself.

Here we have the Mayor of Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, who has a gay husband and is running for the presidency.

In an interview with the liberal Catholic Priest Edward Beck, Buttigieg actually suggests that God approves of gay marriage and that his gay marriage brings him closer to God, calling it one of the most conservative things in his life.

Here’s more:

DC EXAMINER – Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old upstart Democratic presidential candidate and mayor of South Bend, Ind., said in an interview published Tuesday that gay marriage is “conservative” and “moves” him closer to God.

“It saddens me because when I think about the blessings of marriage,” Buttigieg said in response to a question about the divisiveness of gay marriage in religion from Catholic priest, Father Edward Beck, in a CNN interview.

“First of all, it’s one of the most conservative things about my life, very conventional. It is morally one of the best things in my life. Being married to Chasten makes me a better person. I would even say it moves me closer to God,” added Buttigieg.

Buttigieg came out in the local South Bend newspaper in 2015 days before the Supreme Court issued its ruling changing over a dozen statewide laws regarding marriage, and Buttigieg’s campaign represents the possibility of the first openly gay president.

I found the interview on CNN and here’s Buttigieg’s full answer:

Edward Beck: What’s your take on why religion finds same-sex marriage so divisive?

Buttigieg: I saddens me because when I think about the blessings of marriage. First of all, it’s one of the most conservative things about my life, very conventional. It is morally one of the best things in my life. Being married to Chasten makes me a better person. I would even say it moves me closer to God. And so the idea that this of all things is what people are attacking each other over and excluding each other over, when God is love, we are taught. Of all the things to beat people up over on theological grounds, it just seems to me that loving shouldn’t be one of them. So it’s a painful thing to watch. I mean I get it, but. …

If you believe marriage has to do with love, if also, by the way, at the risk of sounding a bit conservative, you believe that sex has to do with love, or ought to, then I think it takes you to a pretty specific place. I’ve learned that it’s an expression of love, at least it can be. And I guess I believe it ought to be.

Just slapping the word ‘love’ on something doesn’t mean you can say God approves it, because God is love. That’s ridiculous.

If a pedophile loves a 10-year-old boy and vice-versa, are we going to then say that God approves of that union? Heck no!

And Saint Paul, one of the very Apostles who Christ Jesus commissioned to begin His church, was more than clear on this issue:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.

He must just ignore that verse or discount it directly. Which is probably why Buttigieg is an Episcopalian.

Also, if he believes that his gay marriage draws him closer to God, then what does he believe God thinks about his stance on abortion? He’s very pro-choice, just so you know, and when asked about New York’s radical new abortion law, he actually replied “I don’t believe we need more restrictions right now…” He then clearly labeled himself as ‘pro-choice’.

Buttigieg is the very epitome of this verse from Isaiah 5:

Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
and shrewd in their own sight!

Buttigieg needs to remember his Catholic upbringing and repent of his rebellion against God. Because God will not be mocked by those who attribute to him the evil of this world.
