There were 23 Republicans last night who voted with Democrats to table a motion to censure Rashida Tlaib for her recent antisemitism after Hamas waged war on Israel, as well as her previous work with Hamas activists.
The description of the censure stated: “Censuring Representative Rashida Tlaib for antisemitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations, and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex.”
The censure was defeated 222-186 with 24 members not voting.
Below are the names of the 23 Republicans and some of them may surprise you:
It was the ‘insurrection’ part of the bill that some Republicans had a problem with:
January 6 protestors were not insurrectionists, nor were those led by Rep. Tlaib.
I voted to table a censure resolution of Rep Tlaib in part because it was modeled after legislation that condemned J6 protestors.
