Wow. I had just watched in the hour before Chris Matthews do a much more objective piece on NPR’s firing of Juan Williams. But Ed Schultz says that firings like these happen all the time in the ‘free market’ and that Juan Williams needs to ‘man up’. Shultz and Keith Ellison both agree that what’s really going on here is that Fox News and the Right Wing are trying to shut down NPR so that the only perspective is Fox’s perspective.
What idiots! It’s clear to almost everyone except these lunatics that NPR was attacking Juan Williams because he worked with Fox News! I mean NPR admitted his relationship with Fox News was a point of contention with NPR executives, in the very article they wrote about their firing of Williams!
Schultz also lets Congressman Keith Ellison call Juan Williams a bigot and then suggest that Williams has ‘taken a bat to all of the work he ever did around civil rights…’, all of that without any challenge to Ellison whatsoever given the broader context of his comments on the O’Reilly show.
There’s so much in this 5 minutes that I don’t have time to address it all, but I would like to briefly address a couple of things. First, why is it ok for Ed Schultz to call Congressman John Boehner ‘the tan man’ on the air? I mean he would never say that about a black person. And secondly, Juan Williams contract was 2 million for THREE years, not ONE year as Ed Schultz reported tonight.
Enjoy!
